WE DON'T YELL AT THE SOFTWARE ANYMORE - WE LOVE "MATT"

Fantastic at every level.

PROS

Ease of use and logocal processes. The support team are wonderful.

CONS

Too few to mention. The integration with pdf's needs some improvement.

Reason for choosing mattero

The logical processes, the price (and subscription payments) and the support team. All excelled above all other systems.

Reasons for switching to mattero

Software was not logical, difficult to use and the support team were always grumpy.

Happy customer - but will get happier

We have a single place to manage our documents, invoicing, trust accounting, CRM and reporting. And it doesn't cost us the earth or require excessive IT help.

PROS

It's fairly priced, it was easy to set up and our people like using it. It integrates well with MS Office without weighing them down with massive Add-Ins (which was a problem with our previous service) and it brings together document management and practice management in a seamless way. It's perfect for our small and growing firm and we'll be sticking with it.

CONS

It's new and sometimes that shows - it occasionally feels like it's still under development. In particular, while it's intuitive and easy to use, that could still be improved - it definitely needs to reduce the number of clicks required in a few places. But all of that is just ironing in the corners of the shirt - overall, I like it.

Reasons for switching to mattero

NetDocs was probably the worst IT experience I've ever had. It literally made our computers groan, it cost too much, it couldn't generate its own file numbers (they told us we should spend more and get a separate practice management tool) and it didn't do our billing or anything other than document management. Hated it.

Software as a service could not have been any harder

Great company, but software not quite there yet. My specific implementation could have been much less challenging if the system requirements were clearer.

PROS

Easy to use, not great usability but easy enough. On the positive side - the Support team were absolutely amazing.

CONS

Implementation specs did not whatsoever describe the requirements for my hosted email setup in order to function as expected. This mean after 6 months of trying, having upgraded my microsoft 365 account now twice, I now completely do not have email in Outlook anymore. Hours of time on calls with Microsoft and Mattero and still nada! Most frustrating experience ever and I'm still no closer to an answer. It would be great if they can figure out what a successful implementation look s like and tell you. I'm absolutely at the end of my tether!

Easy to use and implement without the oversell

PROS

I selected this product for the price point in the market point and the flexibility it offered in terms of month to month subscription and the features it offered. The market is saturated with products that offer you things you will never need, and they charge you for those features, and try to lock you in for 36 months so you become dependent on their product. Mattero and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] have the right ethos for my ILP and the software has worked now for 7 months. There are some things in the horizon that will make this software very difficult to compete with in the marketplace, and thank you [SENSITIVE CONTENT] for sharing those.

CONS

The Office 365 integration is reliable on desktop. It is not very good once you move to the mobile app. There are enhancements in the works.

Reason for choosing mattero

I didn't like the pressure sales tactics of the others. Price and functionality were the most important considerations for me, especially while working out my revenue streams, and flexibility to disengage if the product wasn't working for me. [SENSITIVE CONTENT] offered that maturity that the others wouldn't.

The most user-friendly legal software I've used

PROS

The simplicity and ease of the fully integrated features into Xero and microsoft office, and Infotrack make this software oustanding in it's field. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any legal firm.

CONS

No - everything is perfect, I have no additional suggestions

Great matter management tool for the price

Fantastic and they are constantly improving it.

PROS

The tools available are easy to use (intuitive). I particularly appreciate the integration with Xero and also that the support team are really accessible. The trust accounting is particularly easy to use.

CONS

I'm looking forward to workflows and also hoping for changes to further support fixed fee billing (although it's workable at present).

Mattero is certified for trust accounting by the NSW Law Society.

Great software for my small law firm

I enjoy it. It's easy to use and has been great so far with not many issues.

PROS

I find Mattero is very suited to me in my boutique law firm. Me and one other employee use the software and find it very user friendly and simple - there is nothing I think is unnecessary or fiddly. It integrates with Xero which is great for invoicing. I also love that it is web-based and I can access it from anywhere and on my phone. Very suited to a remote worker.

CONS

There are few features I have used before in Lawmaster which Mattero doesn't have, but Lawmaster is much more expensive. The biggest thing I wish I could do is edit PDFs more easily. I have a mac and this feature doesn't work on my computer for some reason.

Great for in-house

I am a big fan of mattero. It allows me to efficiently move between multiple matters without needing to think about it. I don't use all the features because, for instance I don't bill as an in-house lawyer. However mater management is excellent. Document management works exactly as wanted, and the previews are very well executed and useful.

PROS

This software gets the fundamentals right. It has an easy to use, intuitive interface. It's not bloated with unnecessary or hard to find features. It's easy to set up and use for matter/document management and time recording. It was quick to set up, though probably easier for me given I was establishing a new in-house function within a business.

CONS

Document automation is important to how I run a legal practice and didn't find mattero practical for my purposes. It does work, but will clog matter details pages with mostly unused additional fields if relied upon widely.

Great product for small business

PROS

Mattero is so intuitive and easy to use. We find trust accounting compliance to be extremely easy with Mattero.

CONS

Would love if it synced with Gmail, had a client portal, and also had automatic workflows to increase productivity.

A great practice management software system for boutique firms

The customer support has been wonderful - regular follow ups, a great how to video library and receptiveness to new ideas, such as integration with Zapier and support to try new things.

PROS

Mattero is an intuitive and easy to use practice management software. Easy to set up and train staff, it helps keep track of emails and documents with ease. As a bonus I can use it with my Mac without glitches and not all practice management software providers can guarantee that.

CONS

We are yet to use all the features - for example coding documents and will be exploring this in the coming months.

Reasons for switching to mattero

I didn't love Dubsado, it was okay but not great and in particular the document management and intuitive nature of the software was lacking.

Love Mattero - legal software that is a pleasure to use

PROS

It is intuitive, so easy to set up, easy to set up templates. Best support of any legal software tool I have come across. Great to be able to actually talk to a person if you need help. Dashboard is at a glance and it doesnt have bells and whistles that you dont need.

CONS

There are some features still to come but I really like being able to make suggestions and see them taken up.

Reason for choosing mattero

Australian, easy to use, great support and it is not Leap.

Reasons for switching to mattero

The American set up of Rocket Matter did not suit my Australian practice.

Just right for a modern micro law firm

The price point got my attention for a free trial then onboarding and creating files was so simple and logical that I was all in from day 2! I can easily create, manage and close files, contacts and precedents with reference to short walkthrough videos, FAQs or a quick call to customer service. I have linked Mattero with Xero for billing which works well for time based and fixed fee files.

PROS

Simple and logical layout and setup Cloud based Sticks to essential features and does them well Don't pay for unnecessary bells and whistles No boring grey UX!

CONS

Contacts list is general - a column for contact type (client, other side, court, org) would be handy for filtering

Reasons for switching to mattero

LawMaster was too expensive, had too many unnecessary features and was grey and boring.

Exception and easy to use

I lobe it and would be lost without it. I am so glad I chose it for its simplicity, features, and price.

PROS

So easy to use with no unnecessary bells and whistles. Seamless integration with Xero.

CONS

A couple. The main one I feel that would be a great step forward is the ability to reply to an email that has been saved in a matter without having to download it.

Mattero is fantastic!

Great customer service right from the very beginning. If we need anything they are just a friendly call away. Highly recommend Mattero to mediators and lawyers! Thank you!!

PROS

Easy to navigate; fantastic features; easy to read and find what you are looking for; especially love the preview feature without having to open up documents and convert to PDF; love how easy the mobile layout is to navigate and read; love everything!

CONS

There are no cons, it's a great program to use.

Best software around

Perfect. Seamless and I hope that it continues this way.

PROS

It is intuitive and designed for those who don't want to jump through multiple hurdles just to complete a simple task. I felt comfortable with it from the start and having tried at least 3 other software products, I would rate this as the best. But the product is also value for money and perfectly priced. So don't increase your prices! Top marks for customer service, big shout out to Celeste. Polite, helpful and understanding of old cranky lawyers who struggle with IT.

CONS

Often when you discount a bill or "but say" an invoice, you want the client to be able to see it. While the invoice can be adjusted, need to be able to show the discount.

Reasons for switching to mattero

Filepro - too hard to use. I am sure it has its pros but a headache even opening a file!

Great PMS for small legal practices!

Amazing! Love Mattero and the team!

CONS

There are still some features that are being developed but it is obvious Mattero is working fast to make it a very competitive PMS!!!

True Cloud Solution

Excellent customer service and simple, reliable product.

PROS

CONS

I would like differential pricing for lawyers - minor point, but would really like ability to deeply customise templates especially invoices eg: remove sections from template if no data.

Review of Product - Mattero

Positive experience, although I would like to better understand how I can use reporting features so that I am able to get a picture of work flow and volume for the purpose of reporting to Management.

PROS

The features that I like are that is is easy to use and implement. It is compatible with Microsoft platform.

CONS

There isnt anything in particular that comes to mind.

Mattero

PROS

Overall it is easy to use on a daily basis and can see snap shot of where we are at quickly

CONS

I would like to be able to breakdown into sub files more easily- and for this to be more easily seen, have integration with some of my other software, and easier adjusting of bills. Some of this is probably just better education on me how to use
