Misled by sale.... customer service has been horrible.

Service is horrible. I understand that there have been hurricanes that have affected the ability to work. However, we are in the process of transferring weeks before the hurricane. now that the contract is signed, they are much less "helpful" and telling us it will be a couple weeks before they can get back to us. In the meantime, I am continuing to pay for another database service at prime cost because Practice Panther didn't assist in getting the information from our prior database, as they led me to believe they would be doing.

Pros

Unsure... Haven't been able to get Practice Panther to work with us to get the data imported, or the product to fully function, for over a month now.

Cons

The inter-office messaging doesnt' allow for a group message. The inter-office messages come and go so they told us to sign up for Slack... but the ability to message was one of the primary reasons we went with Practice Panther instead of another service.

The interface is so easy to use and the care that has been taken with the design of the cross-utilizing of tasks, from work, to deadlines to billing, and making them all easy to connect and most importantly see is great for us everyday.

Cons

I do not have a dislike but I would like more sophisticated search functions and possibly more sophisticated business tools for the business side of the practice in the reports function.

I have used to other big name practice management softwares in the past. Practice Panther blows them away in functionality and value. There is so much you can do with this software from seamless integration with dropbox, law pay, and the google suite, as well as creating intake forms and workflows for specific case types. The app is wonderful as well!

Pros

The software is easy to use and covers all the areas that are important in this office for keeping tract of clients, the work expected, and the time entries of those of us in this office. I also like the fact that support is available by email and also by phone and tutorials are easily set up for more in depth lessons. On the one occasion when there was a malfunction in the program, the response from support was immediate and the problem fixed rapidly.

Cons

There is a learning curve for the software, but I believe that would be the case for any software serving the purposes that we need in this office, so that's not really a negative. Short of a program that does the work for me I cannot conceive of a better program.

PracticePanther's intuitive interface, deep bench of customer support and training, and consistent reliability makes my firm's administration more effective and efficient, freeing us up to get back to what we love: litigating complex cases.

Cons

While the timekeeping function is fantastic, easy to use and logical, the ability to toggle between matters is more cumbersome than certain dedicated timekeeping solutions.

Before PracticePanther, I used several applications, programs and legal software to get the job done. When I received a payment, I would enter the information in Quickbooks, and then enter it into my legal software program. I had difficulties accurately tracking my time and organizing my trust account became a nightmare for both me and my bookkeeper. Out of frustration, I mentioned to my bookkeeper that I needed something that meshed all my applications and processes together and allowed me everything in one snap shot. She recommended Practice Panther and voila, everything began to make sense.

PracticePanther is by far the most simplest software that allows attorneys to keep an accurate account of time, money, and allows you to efficiently monitor and supervise your employees. I can see what my legal assistant or paralegal is doing without interrupting their workflow or my workflow.

Cons

I would like to see Practice Panther offer webinars geared towards the daily operations of solo and small firm.

It helps me with task management, trust accounting, and matter management.

Pros

I like being able to track all my matters, tasks, and contacts in one place, while integrating with my other cloud services, like Google Suite and Quickbooks Online.

Cons

As a new user, I've had a couple of questions about how to use things and get the most out of the integrations, but the help staff has been great getting me up to speed.

I'd love to see a secure client portal that doesn't rely on a second sign in to Box.com. That's a bit clunky and not what people are used to with client portals.

I can run an entire law practice with this software and I don't even have to use Quickbooks!

Pros

The ease of creating client and matter files and the billing. Everything is very intuitive and user friendly. If you have any tiny difficulty with something, the videos are very quick and easy to follow. Plus, the customer service is excellent because you get a human being immediately.

Cons

Really nothing--other than it costs money. But the monthly subscription (or annual subscription) is incredibly reasonable for what you get between the software and the customer service.

We work quicker and efficiently

Pros

We have in one place the info of each client so we can overview each task and stay on top of what it needs to be done.
Each part of the process has instructions if you don't know exactly what to do. They are clear and easy to follow. I like the templates and appearance of the working pages.
They have a great support team. They helped us with training since we had many questions, they had a lot of patient with us.

Cons

We don't have any cons. We hope and expect not to have them since they are on top of there clients needs.

Pros

Flexibility and remote use are the key features, also being able to customize to my diverse practice.

Pros

The customizability and customer focus. Additionally, the support is amazing. Ariel Gross recently helped me with some training. He didn't just answer my questions but created solutions to my problems and helped me optimize the software for my firm. This is the difference between using and utilizing the software. I test ran 5 cloud based systems and have familiarity with needles and Allstate's proprietary software, and practice panther is honestly the best yet. I hope is stays this way and continues to improve.

Cons

Templates require are uploading to make changes. It would be more helpful to add a template and then go back and make changes without re saving everything.

Much less expensive than AbacusLaw, which was prone to software glitches. Very rapid program response for remote computer connected to Synology DS216 private cloud server in office.

Pros

Intuitive. Actually works. Change from prior time and billing (data transfer) very good. I always talk to a person, never a recording. No software breakdowns requiring technical support so far. Prior program support team was on my computer solving software problems constantly.

Workflow Mangement, Document archiving, digital file structure, CRM, scheduling, multi-device, and multi-user syncing, and tons more.

Pros

Practice Panther provides a single location for complete access to nearly every detail of client, matter, and internal data, all available at the click of a button.

As we integrate the platform with our own systems, Panther becomes, even more, a pillar of our operations. What used to take hours, can now be done in minutes.

Cons

The only current shortcoming of this software is an internal ability to handle ACH payments and structured payment plans. There are workarounds for both issues, and I've been told that work is under way to resolve both with intentional solutions.

I can organized all of my files; I can create templates for drafting paperwork and sending to clients; and I have a secure client portal with an easy way for them to pay. It seems PracticePanther keeps growing and will continue to add benefits. I look forward to growing my practice with them.

Pros

I thoroughly enjoy the client portal, the templates feature, the ability to label emails, the integration with lawpay, and of course the low fee. I travel a lot and have been able to log in from anywhere and stay in touch with clients and have unfettered access to my files. I am in the process of building my templates. It is time consuming, but I know it will pay off in the end. I am feel like I am getting my money's worth; especially as I learn how to utilize more of the program's features.

Better reporting to Clients and tracking of files on the system.

Pros

The functionality far surpasses any existing offerings in the South African market but more importantly PP offers amazing support and knowledgeable staff members which is a huge benefit to the entrepreneur.

PracticePanther is more cost-effective and it is a far superior application to those currently being offered in the South African space.

Cons

There should be an integration with another accounting software, other than QuickBooks. Perhaps Xero?

Pros

And Justice Legal provides family law, domestic violence, and criminal legal services to clients seeking understanding and guidance through difficult situations, so clients can find a better path on the other side. That path may connect clients with resources to address personal challenges, destructive choices, needed skill sets, or boundaries.

Melanie J. Rhodes, the founding partner of And Justice Legal, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University¿s School of Foreign Service in 1983 and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Rhodes received her Juris Doctorate in August 2000 from the University of New Mexico School of Law. At graduation Ms. Rhodes received the Atkinson Kelsey Award of Excellence in Family Law in recognition of her drafting and lobbying the first statute in New Mexico to require the domestic relations courts to consider domestic violence prior to awarding custody of a child.

After 17 years of practice, Practice Panther has assisted me in opening my own law firm with the many work flow tools and customer communication and educational opportunities. One of my favorite features is being able to move seamlessly from using PracticePanther on my Microsoft Word computer in the office to my iphone when I am on my way to Court. It makes it very easy to capture billing with the built in timer while at Court and then to take a snapshot of the receipt for parking and attach it to a client matter as an expense.

Cons

I have not found any cons with using PracticePanther other than it is optimized to Chrome, which is not a very significant con.

An easy way to increase and enhance productivity

Pros

The ability to run a whole practice from one piece of software is my favourite thing about the software. My assistant and I can be in two places but never out of contact and she loves that it reduces the repetitive work in favour of higher valued jobs

Cons

Integration with accounting software still needs some work. Being able to keep track of my general accounts more easily inside the progam would be nice.

This is a complete solution for my practice. I am a single solo so the document automation, notes, time entries and billing are a great way to save time and effort.

Pros

One of the best features of the software is not so much a feature but the logic employed in designing the flow of data. I have used a number of the more popular programs and can heartily recommend this as the best I have found. The ease of use makes it a top choice if you have staff that will use it. I am a single solo and it is not one of my concerns yet. But, I can't see anyone not understanding the flow of information. The automation is superb. Document assembly is easy and logical. One of the best features is the Forms generator. Email the form to your client or prospective client - they fill it out - and it goes right into your data. No need to waste time inputting names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and any other data you would like to have handy in your file.

Tracking time is a breeze as is generating invoices, tracking retainer accounts, tracking trust accounts and more (I find the accounting component more than meets my needs).

Over time you will come to rely on the information in the program over the physical file. It has become my organizational hub for all that I do.

Cons

I would like to see a thick book explaining all the capabilities and limits. The support people are great and can answer any question - I just like to read it and push the software to its limits. I have used PP for some time - moving to another package for some time. At twice the price - it did less. In my brief time away the product dramatically improved & I am back and very happy.
