About ROSS

ROSS is an online law practice management solution that helps attorneys and paralegals conduct legal research and respond to natural language queries using artificial technology (AI). It enables professionals to obtain real-time case cards with tagged and highlighted texts, displaying pertinent information to queries.

ROSS comes with a document analyzer, which allows lawyers to upload legal documents on the portal and receive a hyperlinked list of similar cases. Great benefit to lawyers & clients

It's been a good experience. It is cost-effective. The "folders" feature is very helpful. It appears Ross wants to improve its offering, as I am asked for suggestions and my ideas are taken freely and often.

Pros

Easy to use. Functional. Good support. Robust.

Cons

Slowly, new features are being added. Need to be able to use statutes like cases in terms of saving & printing statutes. Need more legislative history in statutes

Reasons for Choosing ROSS

Ross is more cost-effective.

Surprised and happily so

This is a very easily used research resource that addresses all of our needs. I like the regular updates and upgrades.

Pros

The document analyzer is a good item and it has been beneficial for me.

Cons

It should remember those who are frequent email recipients such as paralegals and assistants in the same office.

Reasons for Choosing ROSS

Cost and no loss in capability and productivity.

RossAI

Fair. I initially subscribed when the product became available at the high opening cost and then dropped it and watch the price go down. I am reluctant to use it again

Pros

When it worked it helped me find useful cases

Cons

The quality of search results were was inconsistent.. Sometimes it found cases better than a traditional Westlaw search, sometimes Westlaw yielded better cases.

Document analyzer needs work

Overall, it's very good. Practical.Useful. Not pricey for a solo like me. But the main features I want to use aren't working out as well in practice as they did in demo.

Pros

I love the AI aspect of document analyzing. But so far the results in practice are spotty.

Cons

Not easy getting particular issues to highlight and run on document analyzer.

Reasons for Choosing ROSS

price and document analyzer-- howevre, Lexis has been calling me lately as they say they have a.i. now.

Great!

Pros

I love being able to use natural language. In Lexis, which I also use, the system rarely finds anything. Ross comes through almost every time with -- at a minimum -- enough to jump start my research. Sometimes, when I don't know a lot about an issue, it gets me key words and cases to help me move on.

Cons

Not as thrilled with the confidence about the case's vitality. Ross has improved on this recently, in that they now have clearer signals, but I still feel like I need to double check the history and subsequent rulings on a case before citing it.

Affordable Legal help in a time of trouble

The product is helping our company solve or address the land-use problems in our community.

Pros

I can compare laws by state or statutes and get a legal opinion from cases that use these laws.

Cons

I can not answer this question at this time because I am still exploring all of its wonderful uses.

Wow

Great.

Pros

Ease of reviewing case excerpts to evaluate applicability to matter at hand.

Cons

Still some additional linkage needed between functions in order to bounce between cite and case and back to list.

Great option to existing more expensive research services

Their customer service and price pint and flexibility in. It forcing me to commit to an entire year of service suits my practice best because litigation work is not steady so I don’t need it every month.

Pros

Ross’s AI returned a better result with natural language search than the others. I compared their results to Westlaw and Casetext.

Cons

After getting the best result from my initial natural language search with Ross, I put that case into Westlaw to get the key to find other relevant cases and filter faster on more specific jurisdictions. Would be great if Ross had the key feature.

Reasons for Choosing ROSS

I chose ROSS bc of their better AI their better pricing and their flexibility of month to month use.

Time-saver, looking forward to never using other search engines again

Pros

Ross is both fairly easy to use and fairly accurate. It saves me a lot of time to conduct my legal research through ROSS, unlike with Lexis and Westlaw.

Cons

I can tell that it's a product that is still being developed and sometimes I have to supplement my searches with a Westlaw/Lexis search just to make sure I'm getting the right results.

Simple, Easy to Use Legal Research with AI Capabilities

ROSS is easy to use and intuitive. I like it as a complement to traditional legal research methods.

Pros

I like that I can rely upon the AI programming to find cases that I might otherwise miss using traditional legal research methods. ROSS complements my legal research.

Cons

The case information could be presented more accurately and specifically. As I recall, parallel citations to unofficial reporters are often not provided. Page numbering in hard-copy versions (necessary for pin-point citations) is not provided.
