### Most mentioned pros

- Worldox allowed instant previews in a panel, making it easy to identify content quickly.
- Seamless efficiency improvements are what NetDocuments can achieve, if you work in a legal practice and need document storage and management.
- I love that NetDocuments has enhanced security, streamlined collaboration, and integration with existing workflows.

### Most mentioned cons

- This slows down workflow and makes daily tasks unnecessarily frustrating. While I understand that NetDocuments is cloud-based, so are Outlook 365 and Adobe Acrobat, both of which provide fast, seamless previews. If those services can optimize their systems for speed, NetDocuments should be able to do the same.
- For our small firm of 23 users, WITHOUT any of the AI features, NetDocuments costs nearly $30,000 per year for only 1.8 terabytes—an unsustainable price.
- The lack of ability to link/cooperate with other programs in my system for continuity.

I would say overall I like Netdocs, it’s easy to move and create documents. I would give this a 9/10.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Value for money: 5/5

#### Pros

My company just switched to Netdocs and it’s much better than our old software. Favorite thing is users are allowed to delete their documents/versions.

#### Cons

Thing people have complained in my company is saving a document to a workplace then trying to find the document. Users have trouble finding their created documents.

#### Reasons for switching to NetDocuments

We wanted a newer software to be able to use.

### DO NOT RECOMMEND NETDOCS AT THIS TIME

- Overall rating: 1/5
- Reviewer: Jim M.
- Verified reviewer: Yes

- Company size: 11-50 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for less than 2 years
- Reviewed: September 2025

I cannot recommend NetDocuments, primarily due to excessive costs and inefficiency. One major issue is how the platform handles OCR: every OCR’d file is stored as a second version, which doubles storage usage and greatly increases expenses. With Worldox, OCR did not create duplicate files, which saved substantial disk space. For our small firm of 23 users, WITHOUT any of the AI features, NetDocuments costs nearly $30,000 per year for only 1.8 terabytes—an unsustainable price. Another serious drawback is the lack of efficient document and email previewing. Worldox allowed instant previews in a panel, making it easy to identify content quickly. NetDocuments forces you to open each file, and even then the preview pane often lags noticeably. This slows down workflow and makes daily tasks unnecessarily frustrating. While I understand that NetDocuments is cloud-based, so are Outlook 365 and Adobe Acrobat, both of which provide fast, seamless previews. If those services can optimize their systems for speed, NetDocuments should be able to do the same. Until NetDocuments resolves its OCR storage inefficiencies and significantly improves preview performance, I cannot recommend it for firms that value productivity and cost-effectiveness.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

The fact that my case management company (not NetDocuments) linked our software to their product has been helpful. I can press a button on my case management product and pull up all the documents associated with that case. Again, this is something the team from my case management program did.

#### Cons

1. Very slow to preview - significant latency in just trying to look at a document 2. Very high price - approximately $30,000.00 annually for 1.8 terabytes of storage 3. Their OCR doubles your space requirements - need to pay for twice the space you need because the OCR Netdocuments uses is very inefficient in that requires that they need to save the OCRd version as a second version - very different than what Worldox used to use 4. Went from Worldox to Netdocuments. It is actually difficult to locate documents at times. This is leading to employees saving in file explorer

#### Reasons for switching to NetDocuments

We were told that Netdocs had purchased Worldox and that we would have to switch eventually. They provided us what we thought was a deal (less than $10,000.00) to convert our data from Worldox to Netdocs.

### Best document management system

- Industry: Law Practice

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

NetDocuments is very intuitive for most employees. Has all of the core features of document management implemented very well. It is fully cloud based, so it takes off our mind all of the duties of archiving.

#### Cons

Some flexibility is missing. Several features are not completely implemented, so they sort of work but require workarounds. They could take a key from the competition on several UI design choices.

#### Reasons for choosing NetDocuments

True cloud - iManage in the cloud means that someone installs and maintains a server just for you. In NetDocuments we don't have to worry about updates, since the system for all of their clients in the same vault is maintained together. They also have very good data center and backups (we reviewed their SOC report). Price - they gave us a better proposal

#### Reasons for switching to NetDocuments

We used a dated system installed locally and had to switch to something modern

over all it works, but it would be better if there were more short cuts, (ie drag and drop documents from ND to an email)

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

the best thing about net docs is that it is on the cloud.

#### Cons

Our files in NetDocs are set up by folder structure. When our cases grow, it can get very confusing to see where documents are saved. I find myself having to keep clicking into subfolders. if there are documents in different subfolders but i want to add one document from one subfolder and a document from a different subfolder into an email, i am unable to to do that. when searching for a client file, the matter will not auto-populate if even if you type in the first couple of letters

#### Reasons for switching to NetDocuments

I moved firms and the firm i moved to worked with net docs, but i constantly find myself comparing net docs to worldox

### Overall a good product, but with some glitches.

- Overall rating: 4/5
- Reviewer: Ann B.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Legal Services

- Product usage: Used daily for less than 2 years
- Reviewed: July 2025

Overall, a good experience, but there are certain glitches that can be annoying. The file/subfolder issue described above is one. Also, when I move or copy files from one file or folder to another, I often get bounced back to the home page, and I have to re-open the case I was working on. Also, as mentioned, the system times out too fast, and should not time-out at all if I'm actively working in the file.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Intuitive search tools allow you to search for key terms across all files quickly and easily. It also has an option to recall recent documents that comes in very handy.

#### Cons

The "per-named" file folders do not have an option to create subfolders within them. For instance, the pre-named file folder for Deposition Related does not allow me to create a subfolder within (i.e. a separate folder for each deponent). In order to do that, I have to create a separate folder for Deposition Related, then add subfolders within that folder. This results in duplicate folders/locations, so I end up with a file called "Deposition Related" then a separate folder entitled "Deposition Related" within which I can then create the necessary subfolders. It's very clunky. Also, the ND sessions time out too fast. Even when I'm actively working within a case, the system will "time out" forcing me to log back in. It is annoying and disruptive.

Overall we felt this software did what we needed it to do. We will be using this for the forseeable future and will keep our user count low, however this was one of the better platforms we found for our company.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

My team and I liked that we were able to access documents from anywhere, the software was organized and well laid out for ease of use, and the security features of this platform were exactly what we needed for our peace of mind.

#### Cons

We found that sometimes there would be minor lags/delays during high business hours if we were trying to view a large pdf or upload a large pdf. We did have some integration issues at first but support helped us through those hiccups. Cost was a factor the more users we had the more we had to spend on the software, I wish they would have worked with us on that factor.

Overall NetDocuments is a good app with good components. Sometimes a glitch happens and we need to get technical support, but then again, sometimes it is just operator error. Either way, they are helpful and get to the root of the problem.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

This is a document management system in the cloud that is very user friendly. it is easy to save documents and retrieve them. NetDocuments has various programs to work alongside the document management system - such as scanning documents and saving them just like a document you had just created, and ndMail, which is a program that quickly and easily save emails to your various files. Their support team is very good and easy to get ahold of.

#### Cons

3 or 4 times each year we need to update the app on our computers and its always a little scary and we all hate doing it. I wish they could just update their files and when we log in we would automatically be logging into the newest version.

#### Reasons for switching to NetDocuments

We left another firm and started a new company.

Seamless efficiency improvements are what NetDocuments can achieve, if you work in a legal practice and need document storage and management. Also note that it works best integrated with Microsoft products in my opinion.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Netdocuments makes document saving, editing, and storage a far more efficient process. 1. Making changes to a document saves a new version and leaves an audit trail, so you can see previous versions and who edited what 2. You can share external links to netdocuments files, which is very helpful 3. The organisation of documents is done very well. The folder structure is easy to read and navigate 4. The integrations with Microsoft products are done very well. It's completely seamless and integrates into my workflow perfectly

#### Cons

1. The service goes down occasionally, but this is usually resolved quickly 2. To my taste, the UI is a bit clunky in places and things can be hard to search for.
