Pros/Cons
  • Pros

  • I like that I can log the work and paste HTML email threads in a ticket. Also managing all of the computer in the ticketing software is a nice feature.
  • The best part of it was cost. We looked at several other products ranging from cost to functionality to find Alloy provided more for less.
  • Cons

  • It can be cumbersome to learn in an SMB environment with small teams and no compartmentalization.
  • Some built-in features are limited and require alterations.

  • It is easy to interface with other services such as ticketing systems and the like. It is easy to get additional information about identified vulnerabilities.
  • It is very easy to use and integrate with the current continuous integration infrastructure. It is adding new features frequently to improve usability.
  • Cons

  • There's no history of comments or changes. Updates made to one version of a project are not easily available to other versions, or to other projects that use the same components.
  • Upgrading it is a major pain / undertaking. Each time we need to upgrade the system we have to do the equivalent of installing it from scratch.
