## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.6/5
- Total reviews: 360

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.5/5
- Customer support: 4.6/5
- Value for money: 4.4/5
- Functionality: 4.3/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 235 reviews (65%)
- 4 stars: 106 reviews (29%)
- 3 stars: 11 reviews (3%)
- 2 stars: 5 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 3 reviews (1%)

### Most mentioned pros

- As a system administrator, the platform has allowed me to efficiently manage learning and development across a large workforce while maintaining compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Course creation, reporting, and user management are straightforward, and the platform offers robust automation, learning paths, and customizable branding.
- The extensive library allowed us to cover multiple geographic locations for mandatory training requirements and the AI features within create have proven to be a significant time saver when creating modules or supporting materials.

### Most mentioned cons

- Management has noted that the platform is on the more expensive side and there are several additional fees for features and services that can increase the overall cost. While they're comfortable with the pricing at present, there is some concern about potential price increases in the future and how that may affect long-term affordability.
- For instance, learners do not receive email notifications when reviewers provide feedback; this is a fundamental functionality that is currently unavailable within the LMS.
- E-commerce limitation, missing some standard upsell option and some training display limitation, it's not possible to create multiple landing page with training open to the public that is different to each page

I've been working on and with LMSs for 20 years as a user and even a product manager of an LMS. Absorb has exceeded all others that I've worked with in ease of use and customer support. Not every LMS can be everything to everyone and we've been disappointed that some features we've taken for granted weren't available, but for the money, we've found Absorb to be an excellent partner.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The customer support and especially our CSM have been incredibly helpful and supportive during our onboarding and ongoing. We're nine months in and they're still there for us all the time. I also love the admin user interface. LMS admin UIs can be overwhelming but Absorb does a good job of showing just what you need and making it so you don't have to fill in multiple pages to get a course launched. We've also found it to be a good value - lots of features, lots of training and support for the money. Happily, we've run into very few bugs and uptime has been excellent.

#### Cons

Absorb seems to be focused on employee training while we're a professional society. Therefore, the LMS is missing some features that we would like. Handling multiple certificates, e.g. CME for surgeons and nurses, is difficult requiring us to make separate courses for each professional group. Absorb has a robust ideas portal where users can make suggestions for features and they release new features constantly though.

#### Reasons for choosing Absorb

Cost, features, ability to have a free trial period.

#### Reasons for switching to Absorb

Primarily because of lack of customer support.

### A genuinely impressive LMS that's delivered on everything we shortlisted it for

We needed a single platform that could serve multiple clients under their own self-contained experience, while still giving us central oversight, and Absorb's multitenancy solves that completely. It's also solved the problem of customer self-sufficiency - our clients can manage their own users and courses and pull their own reports instead of coming to us for everything - and the reporting gives us visibility we didn't have before, both proactively during onboarding and reactively when a customer needs extra support. The sales and onboarding process was faultless from start to finish, and the combination of interactive course creation, gamification, learning paths, and automation has let us build a much stronger learning offering for our customers than we could before.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Multitenancy was essential for us - we needed separate branches so each of our clients gets their own experience while we manage everything centrally, and Absorb handles this really well. Just as important, our customers can administer their own users, assign courses, and run their own reports, which takes a huge amount of admin off our plate. Reporting in particular has been a standout. Our customers can see exactly what their users are and aren't doing in the system, and on our side we can monitor engagement both during onboarding and once customers are live - invaluable when a customer seems to be struggling and we need to check whether their people are actually engaging with the learning. On the course-building side, Absorb lets us create genuinely interactive courses rather than passive "click next" content, with quizzes to test knowledge retention. We've also brought in gamification through certificates and badges, and built proper learning paths/journeys rather than one-off courses. Automation has been a big win too - automated emails, automated reporting, and the ability to build our own custom reports without relying on Absorb support. The API integration with our own customer database has made onboarding new clients much smoother. I've now created a number of courses myself and found it genuinely easy to do. I've used the AI features for generating quiz questions so far, which has saved me time, and I'm planning to use the AI course builder for some soft skills courses soon - everything I've built so far has been technical content. Pricing is also very competitive given the breadth of features on offer, and speed/reliability haven't been an issue at all - no downtime or performance problems across any of our client branches, even during busier onboarding periods.

#### Cons

Honestly, we've struggled to find anything major to fault. If anything, the platform is so feature-rich that there's a bit of a learning curve at first while you explore everything it can do

#### Reasons for choosing Absorb

Nobody could offer an authoring tool as good as AbsorbCreate.

I’d happily recommend Absorb to anyone looking to start a LMS. It’s easy to learn and scale. It’s not the most complex software out there, but more complexity doesn’t always make for a better product.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I’ve grown to appreciate the simplicity of Absorb. Over the last 1-2 years we’ve started loosening our control of the LMS and letting other trainers tinker. They all remark how user friendly the software is, which in turn makes our job easier!

#### Cons

At times I wish there were more robust and native reporting options. But these types of reports are only prepared 1-2 times per year, so it’s not a big deal for someone that uses the software daily like we do.

#### Reasons for choosing Absorb

Price, customer service, accessibility

### The relationship is what makes the platform work

Absorb has done what we need it to do. It gives us one place to run leadership development, onboarding, compliance, and instructor-led training across our large distributed organization, and it produces the records we need without manual reconciliation. The automation is what makes it sustainable. We are a small central team that can support thousands of employees because enrollment happens by rule rather than by hand. But the honest answer about our overall experience is that the people are what set it apart. [sensitive content hidden], our account manager, and [sensitive content hidden] our client success manager have both been genuine partners rather than points of contact. They learned how our business actually runs instead of walking us through a generic feature tour, and they point us toward what will solve a real problem for us rather than whatever is newest. When we hit something, we get a fast answer and a straight one, including when the answer is that something is not possible today. That honesty has saved us more time than any workaround would have. No platform is perfect, and there are things I would like to see improved. What makes that manageable is knowing the people on the other end are invested in getting us where we need to go. That relationship is the single biggest reason we expect to stay with Absorb for the foreseeable future.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Absorb holds up for a workforce that is not sitting at a desk. Most of our people are frontline, spread across the country, and getting to training before and after shifts. Absorb handles that without us having to build workarounds. The admin side is the other piece. Enrollment rules and automations mean we are not hand-assigning courses every time someone is hired or promoted, and the reporting gets us what we need for compliance without exporting everything into a spreadsheet first. The client success support has been a real differentiator too. Our CSM knows our business and flags things before we ask.

#### Cons

If I could change one thing, it would be a simplified administrative experience. The power is there, but common tasks take more clicks than they should and the menus take a while to learn. Once an admin is fluent it moves quickly, so it's really a matter of the front end of that curve being steeper than necessary.

#### Reasons for switching to Absorb

We switched to Absorb because we needed a real LMS. What we had before was built for a narrower job, and our training had outgrown it. We are running leadership development programs, onboarding, compliance courses, and instructor-led sessions across a large distributed workforce, and we needed one platform that could host all of it, assign it by rule rather than by hand, and give us completion records we could stand behind when someone asked for them. Absorb was the first option that felt built for the way we actually operate. Our people are largely frontline and spread across the country, so training has to reach them on a phone, not just a desktop, and it has to be the same training regardless of which market they work in. Absorb handles that without a heavy IT project to get it standing. The people were part of the decision too. The Absorb team took time to understand our business rather than run a standard demo, and they were straight with us about what the platform did well and where it had limits. That candor told us what the working relationship would be, and it has held up. Our Client Success Manager has been a genuine partner rather than a point of contact, and the culture on their side has been a real match for ours. When you are choosing a system you will live with for years, that matters as much as the feature list.

### Outstanding Customer Service, a Truly Responsive Ideas Portal, and Easy Integrations and Automations

Prior to implementing Absorb, my organization was using a different LMS. That LMS was not user friendly, had minimal reporting ability, and created very clunky courses. Since we adopted Absorb and its Create course-authoring tool, we have seen a dramatic change in the quality of our online courses. Courses are far more engaging, filled with more variety of learning activities, and easier to report one. Learners and admins alike also find Absorb significantly easier to navigate than our prior LMS. Additionally, Absorb can integrate with our Active Directory, so new employees and employee changes come directly into the LMS without any manual adjustments. The automatic course enrollments are very helpful, too. I never have to create a new hires' account or manually enroll them in new hire training.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Absorb provides outstanding customer service. Every time I have a question about a use case, my CSM is available and provides answers quickly. I also really love the Ideas Portal, where admins can post new ideas to improve their experience and also review and vote on ideas submitted by others. Absorb actively reviews these ideas and implements them when they receive enough votes. I always feel like the customers' voices are heard.

#### Cons

There are some features that I wish were included with the Core LMS experience instead of being add-ons for an additional charge. For example, there are a lot of reports you can run without paying for the Analyze reporting add-on, but to gather all the data I need about courses and quizzes and learner performance, I sometimes have to run about a dozen different reports. This means I am reviewing a dozen different spreadsheets and trying to manually merge them into one report to get the data I need.

#### Reasons for choosing Absorb

Absorb met all of our requirements and was in our budget.

#### Reasons for switching to Absorb

Tovuti was too clunky and difficult to use. The courses it created were not engaging.

Overall, my experience with Absorb LMS has been positive. The platform offers great flexibility and customization, allowing us to create in-house training tailored to our needs. This has helped our teams upskill and improved the onboarding process for new hires. Absorb’s openness to feedback and continuous improvement is a big plus. While there is a learning curve, course creation becomes intuitive with experience. The gamification features could be more competitive, especially with a leaderboard that accurately reflects earned points. Support has been helpful, though access to live assistance can be limited. Thankfully, my representative connected me with one-on-one support when needed. Absorb LMS has strong potential, and with continued improvements, it can become an even more

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5

#### Pros

What I appreciate most about Absorb LMS is its flexibility and potential for customization. As a former teacher, I value the ability to create in-house training content tailored to our industry, technology, and compliance needs. This customization empowers our teams to upskill effectively while streamlining the onboarding process for new hires, allowing them to transition into their roles more quickly. Additionally, Absorb’s willingness to accept feedback and continuously improve enhances the overall user experience. While there is a learning curve, once familiar with the platform, course creation becomes intuitive and efficient.

#### Cons

At times, there is an urgent need for support when setting something up. Recently, I encountered an issue where I was unable to join an "office hours" session due to limited availability. Fortunately, my representative connected me with someone who was willing to meet individually on Zoom, allowing us to troubleshoot the errors I was experiencing. I truly appreciated the personalized support in resolving the issue.

#### Reasons for choosing Absorb

I conducted extensive research on various LMS platforms and ultimately chose Absorb for several key reasons. The platform offers great potential, and your team’s willingness to accept feedback and continuously improve was a significant factor in our decision. While there is a learning curve, once you gain experience setting up courses, the platform becomes intuitive and easy to use.

As super admin of the Absorb LMS in my company, I can confidently say that our overall experience has been very positive. From implementation 3 years ago to current date, the system has continuously evolved, with regular enhancements that improve both the user and admin experience. The customer support has been excellent throughout. The Absorb LMS has pushed up our annual compliance training to achieve 100% completion. From an operational perspective the IT intergration was seamless, enabling efficient management of users, reporting and compliance tracking. One of the main challenges is pulling historical data across both active and inactive users for all courses. It can be time-consuming to comb through the plethara of data it generates to create a clean report.

Great support. Little bit of learning curve to understand the system, however, we had lots of support when we needed help.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Great Support, constant improvements on software. E.G., automatic AI and AI translation in wide range of languages.

#### Cons

Some areas were not very flexible enough for us. Such us downloading a file. We had to download course by course, instead of bulk downloading. However, it was not a major concern.

Overall, very professional team. Support helps in very quick time. Implementation team is always available when you need.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

On top of being a good learning system, the IT infrastructure is well thought out. It is very customizable and can cater to whatever learning needs you have, or however you want to structure the learning environment.

#### Cons

Nothing in particular. What I liked the least was when you are learning for the first time, you don't know where to find certain modules or how different parts of the system link and work together.

### Absorb LMS - Good but needs lot of work on UI and UX

We used Absorb for almost 4 years to provide learning resources to our members. However, with time we started to receive feedback about the platform being non-intuitive and difficult to navigate. From admin and instructor point of view, we found the system to be difficult to design dashboards, welcome pages. Although, I liked its capability to import SCROM files. Moreover, it was a bit expensive for the experience offered and for our scale.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The ability to support different formats such as SCORM

#### Cons

Well, although it is a decent LMS tool, I would urge the team at Absorb to work on their UI and UX for all stakeholders - Admins, Instructors, and Learners. The UI is not at all intuitive and looks archaic.

We have had a great experience with Absorb. It took us nearly a year to get things fully configured but we were assitted greatly by the Absorb on-boarding and support team. They also helped us with the integration of the Absorb system into our own proprietary software.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Absorb is a very rich software system that allows for multiple configurations. Courses are easy to setup and administer. For us, however, we were able to separate our global network of trainers into each one’s separate ’department’ which allows them to administer their own courses and registrations in their own account. This makes for effective course delivery and reporting.

#### Cons

What we liked least is actually Absorb’s strength - there are so many ways to configure courses and curriculum that sometimes it gets a little confusing.
