Curatr from HT2Labs is a social learning platform that helps organizations to build and deliver online courses. Key features include social learning, content building, peer review, gamification, resource library, progress reporting and more.
With Curatr, users can build their training materials in a variety of forms including videos, documentation and slides. These courses can be uploaded to the learning portal where they can be shared with participants through email. Curatr provides peer review functionality where learners can rate each other's work for assessment and recommend other courses to their peers.
Instructors can even gamify their training program by adding levels, points and badges to their courses. Learners can unlock new levels and earn reward points for completing courses. Curatr also provides a resource library that enables instructors to store their courses in one central place.
HT2Labs offers support via phone and email.

The platform is intuitive enough to use by end users and pretty straightforward for back-end users. It is a simple platform with a lot of possibilities for integration with other platforms (like Vimeo, Survey Monkey, etc.). The platform is in constant development and HT2Labs really listens to the feedback of its (early) adopters.
That being set, the customer service is great. The people take all the time you need to explain, answer questions, search for solutions with you. This is not just a platform, it is a partner with a future-proof vision on e-learning.
Some things are still in development and they could speed up the development process here. I'm taling about:
- the emailing feature which is still in beta
- the profile & badges system which is not intuitive and very little used by our end users

The social element available to the leaners. I like that learning experience is like a game, where the learners can progress and get a visual representation of their progress. XP is a fun element to introduce to learning experience.
The limited capacity of gate quiz questions not supporting rich text. I primarily teach software courses and as such students need to see visually accurate programming code syntax. In the current state, the multiple choice gate does not support rich text and the code does not get displayed properly so students have a hard time choosing the correct answer.

I selected Curatr because it met all the requirements i had that were essential for giving my Velocity participants a great learning experience. I wanted to use lots of great external resources as part of the programme, it had to enable social and collaborative learning, and be accessible from mobile devices - and Curatr met all these needs. Most of all - the Velocity participants really enjoy using it and I have had participants say they like it because 'it isn't at all like e-learning!" I find the administration and reporting is also easy to use.
I would like a Community area as well as the individual discussion areas for each piece of content, but other than that there isn't anything I don't like.

It combines all the aspects of development we need. It is easy to build and organize content. The interface is intuitive and it is easy for participants to interact meaningfully with one another. The built in game mechanics help tremendously with both workflow for participants and our ability to see how successful we were with course design. For a product with such a broad scope of features it is surprisingly easy to manage and we are able to build robust, customized learning environments.
The only real downside of such a versatile platform is that there is a lot to manage. That being said, the utility of the features makes it well worth it.

Very nice looking and easy to learn. I like the flexibility to adapt it to different types of courses and special projects (like a community of practice). Customer service is awesome !
The integration with our LMS is difficult: a "Single Sign On" system was programmed to allow our user to join a discussion forum in Curatr without login a second time. The "transfer" from our LMS to Curatr is slow.

We first came across Curatr at the Learning Solutions Conference several years ago. We were impressed with their features, but have learned from experience that not all tech providers can deliver on their promises. This was not the case with Curatr. In fact, they have far surpassed our expectations on many levels. The user interface is clean, intuitive and engaging. As we present our learning products to our customers, many times the conversation derails because they want to learn more about the platform we are using. The admin interface is straightforward and provides the ability to create multi-dimensional courses with little time and effort. The gamification components built into the framework of all the objects makes it very easy to take our courses to another level. We have not found this with any other provider. The standout of the Curatr experience though is definitely the Curatr team and the service they provide. They are patient, personable and responsive. We work with many vendors and they are by far our favorite. They provide a great deal of resources and communication associated with the product, making us feel looked after and informed. Lastly, the product is continually evolving in really positive ways. Each month we look forward to the release notice to see what new feature has been added to make Curatr even better.
We sell our courses to external customers. Some of the functionality is really geared towards an internal audience and we have to make accommodations.
