We're having a real-world impact while supporting each other.As an educator, Mighty's course-building tools have enabled me to create engaging hands-on lessons that reach more people. #### Cons I love that Mighty integrates with Stripe, but sometimes setting up and making plans feels a little clunky - especially if you want to change the plans afterwards. It offers a wide range of options and a terrific support team of MN employees and other users. The design is values-driven and the MN team are constantly enhancing it for ease of use and functionality. #### Cons The wide ranging options made start-up a bit complicated, but that was handled well by the support team, the Community Design course and the generous comments of other users. #### Reasons for choosing Mighty Networks Facebook is just plain evil. The disinformation rife in the platform and the unethical sharing of information meant we had to look elsewhere. We love that fact that with MN we own the data and it can't be shared by MN. It is also a pretty cheap option. #### Cons The platform is cluttered and difficult to use. I also just had an experience with customer support that was very disappointing. After using Mighty Networks for several years, this past year we moved to circle.so and (apparently) forgot to cancel our MN subscription. The annual fee hit just a few days ago ... but reaching out to support (email only) there is ZERO flexibility or understanding. They refuse to offer any grace, and we are stuck with an annual fee for a product we are no longer using. I have evolved and grown with my Mighty Network and experimented with features with my community, and I appreciate the flexibility of Mighty Networks. I love that there is a mobile app. I also really appreciate that Mighty Networks hosts video for courses so I don’t have to look elsewhere for video hosting. I really like the topic organization as well. #### Cons I wish Mighty Networks would partner with another payment processor because Stripe is highly restrictive as to which businesses it allows to hold accounts. I am a lawyer, a psychic, and a spiritual educator and I sought to use Mighty Networks to host my monthly membership community where I help folks with their spiritual development. However, Stripe closed my account because I provide psychic services. For this reason I am migrating to another platform that allows me to process payments without having to use Stripe. I am very disappointed because I love the platform and so do my clients. Producing content is very easy. To get everything in one was very valuable for us - course platform with payed or free courses, enrolment and drip feed as well as a community platform with the ability to interact with other members. Available as apple and android app, our members can all of the sudden access their courses from their phone, without us having to develop and maintain two apps ourselves. Huge. #### Cons There are still features that we are hoping will get there. Like more drip feed settings and the ability to give a member access to a whole course at once even if it's drip fed to mention two. But we have made it work with existing features and the value largely overcomes some details we hope will be available in the future. #### Reasons for choosing Mighty Networks Everything in one. No native video (Ideally, I'd be able to upload video directly within MN.) 2. Lack of ways to pay out ambassadors (Having simpler ways to pay members for referrals would be helpful as well.) 3. I did trials of multiple community platforms, there wasn't even a second place in my book. I spent hours and hours doing this research. The value of Mighty Networks is unmatched by any other community building platform on the market. Believe me, I've been through them all. #### Reasons for switching to Mighty Networks Facebook is a distraction machine. The only goal is to keep you on the platform as long as possible. In the Creating a Brand Community, we talk a lot about productivity and time management, it doesn't seem right when our members are wasting 30+ minutes per day on Facebook... With Mighty Networks, there is no agenda to keep you online. Sometimes, members are only on for 5 minutes a day, and they don't feel like they are missing anything. Mighty Networks is where LinkedIn Groups could have been if they had not lost their way. LinkedIn would rarely solicit user feedback and always ignored it when they did interact with their users. MN actively solicits user feedback and builds that feedback into their development plans. LinkedIn changes were always surprises and disappointments. Further, we no longer need an email list program nor a separate course building platform with everything integrated on the MN platform. It is also hard to beat the availability of key people within MN when trying to push the platform to its limits. They are quick to respond and often add suggestions to their development plans. #### Cons Minor issue - moving discussion threads between topics is excellent, but replies can be lost when moving a discussion thread from one sub-group to another. #### Reasons for choosing Mighty Networks Did not really find anything that integrated everything we wanted to do on one platform. #### Reasons for switching to Mighty Networks LinkedIn Groups is limited to one topic and sub-groups were eliminated in the LI 2015 "upgrade." Teachable has limited interaction with students taking the online course. This has been a game changer for me as I have my content and membership in one location. MN is easy to navigate, the team are also fantastic always adding value on how to use the software. The customer service is also outstanding and responds quickly. #### Cons I think the learning curve, especially for my members from Facebook who are not tech savvy. At the moment it isn't possible to simply add another person to an existing group message. Instead I need to restart the thread hoping that I won't need to add another person. Its been great for a self starter like me, who likes to create my own content, way of working , its given us a great start in creating our organisation in a way that's not the normal. I've loved everything about it so far. Very user friendly, I love all the options I have within the platform (I use the highest level plan) from having different groups to the courses I can create. I have barely tapped into everything I want to do with it. From the CEO to staff, everyone has been so helpful in engaging and responding to questions. The login is also easy. #### Cons The "plans" and pay gates are a mess. You can't delete a plan once you've created it and the structure/permissions are confusing at best. There's also a severe limit on indexing content you upload. You can only tag things once, so if you're organizing content by topic you have to upload multiple times to have it appear under different tags.
