SAP SuccessFactors is a cloud-based human resource learning management solution that assists organizations with an integrated suite of features to manage their workforce. Key features include recruiting and onboarding, time and attendance management, learning and development, performance and compensation.

SAP SuccessFactors learning and development module helps in providing training and certification programs to educate employees, partners and customers. The iContent or “content-as-a-service" allows companies to manage digital learning materials, including course materials, training videos and presentations.

Performance management feature helps managers to evaluate employee output using performance assessment tools such as 360 reviews and feedbacks. The solution provides a Jam social collaboration tool that assists employees to create training materials, record videos and share content throughout the organization.

SAP SuccessFactors can be implemented in a number of industries such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing and nonprofits. Support is available via online SAP support portal and live chat.

Great HR software

Pros

One centralized location for all your HR data: pay, hire date, picture, personal details, hierarchy, goals, reviews, etc.
You can use the app to look up who people are 'discreetly'
Web based, access it anywhere

Cons

Completing reviews can be a bit cumbersome (lots of sending info back and forth)
If you make an error when updating someone's information/details/review it can be difficult to fix the error

Too complicated...

My certifications came from extensive studies, I think I couldn't have made it without SAP Learning, by success factors. If the format was just like the OpenSAP, then it would be perfect!

Pros

It has an extensive collection of books and training materials. You can prepare yourself for a certification exam by using the materials which are available to your company. You can find the right material and study focused on your objective. Some materials must be bought by you Enterprise or it will not be available to its employees, but even without the specific trainings, it stills useful.

Cons

Its so hard to use it. Nothing is easy to find, you spend too much time just to know where you are and to find what you are looking for. It would me much better if it is just like the OpenSAP. That other platform is better organized and structured, but SAP Success Factors still got its value, I think it just could be better.

Perfect HCM software

Overall good software with in depth details and management highly suitable for large enterprises.

Pros

Success factors is US based company which provides solution for Human Capital management, now this company is acquired by SAP AG.

2. It provides complete solutions starting from KRA/ KPI management, Learning and Development, Talent acquisition etc which cater most HR department requirement.
3. It has complete customization available which can be changed according to need of the organization.
4. In depth analysis of data/ details can be done from administrator account which gives complete overview.

Cons

1. Pricing for software is on higher side which mostly large enterprises can only afford.
2. User interface needs improvement, it is not much user friendly and hence proper awareness is to be imparted to users who are going to use it.
3. It lakes seamless integration with various SAP modules.
4. Sometime its complexity is such that excel based HCM seems like more suitable

Excellent application for production companies

Pros

It is a software that allows modular growth, adjusts and parameterizes the needs of each country, has absolute control of information security, integrates different areas of the company, and has in detail all operations

Cons

It is very expensive, the implementation takes a long time, it requires the change of many processes to adapt to the best practices, the front end is not so friendly when using it. it requires very robust equipment for its implementation.

Decent HR tool to keep track of performance initiatives and objectives.

Pros

All-in-one tool that allows employees, managers, and HR to process all information, one stop shop. Measures metrics, weighted goals, etc. for annual and semi-annual goals. Setup to send any alerts or updates directly to email inbox.

Cons

Performance and objective goals can easily be mixed up. Once a goal is submitted, it cannot be deleted only edited (could be preset by my company).

SuccessFactors, the Samsung of the HR software world

If you would like to compare it to the mobile phone market, it could be seen as the Samsung in the market, whereas Workday is the Apple in the market. SuccessFactors doesn't give the Apple kind of feeling, but by far has better (and more) options inside, whereas Workday tends to be perceived as a bit easier to some customers, while you do loose a lot of functionality.

Pros

- Highly flexible for a cloud based product;
- Offers a lot of options to customise as a customer after the implementation.

Cons

- Has a lot of features that won't be useful to a lot of customers;
- Doesn't always give you the feeling it's one system if you combine various modules.

SuccessFactors has made my new employee onboarding easy and clear

Great way to agree on and work toward KPIs with your team/group

Pros

Our HR department created an 20-step onboarding plan for me in SuccessFactors. Now that I've gone through all of the steps, I feel like I know the basics that I need to know for working here. Not the role-specific experience, but the sometimes hard to obtain, internal experience that makes getting work done easier.

Cons

There really aren't too many "cons" from my point-of-view. I also like the "KPI" section. If there is another "con" I guess it's that I don't understand how SuccessFactors and "Jam" are different and what should be done in each.

Choose a better big-box solution

Pros

SuccessFactors allows for an enormous amount of data to be entered in and gathered by the system, and all of the content types allow for great flexibility.

Cons

It's an enormous beast with a dated back-end and lackluster front-end. It's not intuitive at all, and requires an enormous amount of maintenance.

Perfect HCM Suite for a large business

Pros

3. Easy to log into mobile app by just scanning bar code.
4. Vast and indepth
5. Highly customizable.
6. As an administrator, it is easy to work on.

Cons

As an administrator I find that it has taken time to integrate with SAP On premise software.
As a New user tutorial should be there. If I am not used to the cloud technologies, and not very tech savvy, it becomes difficult to adopt. Some gamified tutorials would be the best.

Always easy to use and simple

Pros

Application is easy to use and navigate online. Used it to perform annual performance review. Anyone can get use to the application quickly.

Cons

There really weren't any flaws that I noticed on the application. Sometimes you had to save your progress twice or else it wouldn't save.

Horrible UX, hight cost and lacking features (Recruiting module)

Pros

Nothing compared to modern ATS´s like Ponty, Workable, Teamtailor, GreenHouse etc. A nice "tell" is that during demo videos (created by actual fans/users on Youtube) the product lags and there is pauses every now and then since the pages have to load and you have to wait. Acceptable 10 years ago, not so much in 2018.

Cons

- Crap UX: Means many clicks = drags down productivity
- Setting up processes or adding a step is an actual project. Something that takes less then 2 minutes with any of the systems above
- No data visualization (unless extra module is bought). Data is everything! And it´s a really unmodern and slow process to create specific reports (again, a project in itself), and then you get a report where have to take the data and maunally use your own tools to visualize your findings.
- This is like a 15 years old recruitment system BUT it´s also expensive and you have to hire extra staff as trainers since the UX is so bad so this ads even more to the total cost.
- No built in surveys. For instance if you want to check your candidate experience and such.

The list goes on but you get the picture.

I use Success Factors for performance reviews for myself and coworkers

Pros

I find this Software to be easy to use after you've become familiar with it. I like the workflow aspect of it so that you can easily see progress during the different stages of the performance reviews.

Cons

I think that the software looks old and would benefit from a refreshed look/new skin. I think a re-design would make it more intuitive.

Housing all information in one application is very helpful and there was a smooth implementation with all the cheat sheets.

Cons

A general canned application and with minimal functionality, unless your team has the ability to write in workarounds. Initially I believed the product to be more sophisticated.
