SAP SuccessFactors is a cloud-based human resource learning management solution that assists organizations with an integrated suite of features to manage their workforce. Key features include recruiting and onboarding, time and attendance management, learning and development, performance and compensation.

SAP SuccessFactors learning and development module helps in providing training and certification programs to educate employees, partners and customers. The iContent or “content-as-a-service" allows companies to manage digital learning materials, including course materials, training videos and presentations.

Performance management feature helps managers to evaluate employee output using performance assessment tools such as 360 reviews and feedbacks. The solution provides a Jam social collaboration tool that assists employees to create training materials, record videos and share content throughout the organization.

SAP SuccessFactors can be implemented in a number of industries such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing and nonprofits. Support is available via online SAP support portal and live chat.

    SuccessFactors, the Samsung of the HR software world

    If you would like to compare it to the mobile phone market, it could be seen as the Samsung in the market, whereas Workday is the Apple in the market. SuccessFactors doesn't give the Apple kind of feeling, but by far has better (and more) options inside, whereas Workday tends to be perceived as a bit easier to some customers, while you do loose a lot of functionality.

    Pros

    - Highly flexible for a cloud based product; - Offers a lot of options to customise as a customer after the implementation.

    Cons

    - Has a lot of features that won't be useful to a lot of customers; - Doesn't always give you the feeling it's one system if you combine various modules.

    Great way to agree on and work toward KPIs with your team/group

    Pros

    Our HR department created an 20-step onboarding plan for me in SuccessFactors. Now that I've gone through all of the steps, I feel like I know the basics that I need to know for working here. Not the role-specific experience, but the sometimes hard to obtain, internal experience that makes getting work done easier.

    Cons

    There really aren't too many "cons" from my point-of-view. I also like the "KPI" section. If there is another "con" I guess it's that I don't understand how SuccessFactors and "Jam" are different and what should be done in each.

    Overall effective and efficient product, however Search and Navigation should be considered for further improvisation for enhanced experiences.

    Pros

    One of the best Learning and Development product for up skilling and training of work force of any organization, simple, effective, efficient.

    Cons

    Some of the features like search and User Interface can be further improvised with better and easier browsing capabilities for better navigation across published content.

    SuccessFactors allows for an enormous amount of data to be entered in and gathered by the system, and all of the content types allow for great flexibility.

    Cons

    It's an enormous beast with a dated back-end and lackluster front-end. It's not intuitive at all, and requires an enormous amount of maintenance.

    1. User friendly 2. Self Explanatory 3. Easy to log into mobile app by just scanning bar code. 4. Vast and indepth 5. Highly customizable. 6. As an administrator, it is easy to work on.

    Cons

    As an administrator I find that it has taken time to integrate with SAP On premise software. As a New user tutorial should be there. If I am not used to the cloud technologies, and not very tech savvy, it becomes difficult to adopt. Some gamified tutorials would be the best.

    Application is easy to use and navigate online. Used it to perform annual performance review. Anyone can get use to the application quickly.

    Cons

    There really weren't any flaws that I noticed on the application. Sometimes you had to save your progress twice or else it wouldn't save.

    Nothing compared to modern ATS´s like Ponty, Workable, Teamtailor, GreenHouse etc. A nice "tell" is that during demo videos (created by actual fans/users on Youtube) the product lags and there is pauses every now and then since the pages have to load and you have to wait. Acceptable 10 years ago, not so much in 2018.

    Cons

    - Crap UX: Means many clicks = drags down productivity - Setting up processes or adding a step is an actual project. Something that takes less then 2 minutes with any of the systems above - No data visualization (unless extra module is bought). Data is everything! And it´s a really unmodern and slow process to create specific reports (again, a project in itself), and then you get a report where have to take the data and maunally use your own tools to visualize your findings. - This is like a 15 years old recruitment system BUT it´s also expensive and you have to hire extra staff as trainers since the UX is so bad so this ads even more to the total cost. - No built in surveys. For instance if you want to check your candidate experience and such. The list goes on but you get the picture.

    This product has been very helpful for us with my colleagues. The customer support has been really accommodating on all of our concerns.

    Sometimes it runs a bit slow but that happened to me only twice. Other than that the product is very good

    I find this Software to be easy to use after you've become familiar with it. I like the workflow aspect of it so that you can easily see progress during the different stages of the performance reviews.

    Cons

    I think that the software looks old and would benefit from a refreshed look/new skin. I think a re-design would make it more intuitive.

    This came with the entire suite of human capital management software, SF learning and Talent acquisition and management. cloud based solution that you pay as you go and pay as you grow. Completely scalable.

    Cons

    this solution is very expensive and took longer to integrate then expected.which took up more man hours then expected.

    Housing all information in one application is very helpful and there was a smooth implementation with all the cheat sheets.

    A general canned application and with minimal functionality, unless your team has the ability to write in workarounds. Initially I believed the product to be more sophisticated.

    Cloud based product with quarterly releases for improvement. Easy backend configuration setup for admin users.

    Cons

    Unstable at times and based on how much data is configured, it can run very slow. Also the reporting and analytics tool is not as intuitive yo use.

    Beautiful dash makes for happy employees. This tool really brings inclusiveness to a large and small company with its ease of features.

    Cons

    Fairly long implementation process even with a small company - but most are. SAP really wants you to be the catch all for questions so they try and make you know as much as possible to be able to be the source of all communication / support. Not ideal if you have a small team and can't designate hours to being that person

    A heavy-handed antiquated approach to career development

    Encourages quarterly check-ins through an automated reminder process so that managers must think about performance reviews more than once per year.

    Cons

    Clunky form submission process sometimes results in lost work. Language checks often flag false positive results, such as describing "the old user interface" being flagged as "age-ist". Their heart is in the right place, but it needs some tuning. Support for a more lightweight OKR-driven approach instead of filling out massive forms would be more in-line with modern performance review practices in place at orgs like Google.

    Obviously integrates seamlessly with other SAP tools which is nice if you/your company use the full suite of products.

    Cons

    It seems to be very slow at times and overall the software is a bit outdated/not as intuitive as others. The price is a little high, but pretty decent for a large company. I wouldn't say the learning curve is minimal and the customer support has been pretty dismal, at least for us. Price isn't great as they charge extra for certain features

    The more mature and complete SuccessFactors solutions are: Performance and Goals, Learning

    Pros

    There is a very configurable solution, user oriented and, flexible process. The system provide a full range of HR solutions : learning management system (LMS), performance solution, recruiting assets, applicant tracking platform, talent management, succession planning, and HR analytics.

    Cons

    Perhaps the weakest points of SuccessFactors solution are the price, I thing it´s expensive, depending on number of modules and user. The support service is slow sometimes.

    If you are looking for a stable LMS and performance management systems, SuccessFactors can do the job. However, if you are looking for a more agile and innovation solution, I suggest to go for other platforms.

    Self-explanatory, love the due dates/retraining, platform has many features. The product offers a great layout for the learner experience.

    Cons

    Since SAP took over, customer service is weak. Often they are not very responsive. Price is on the higher side.
