Torch LMS is a cloud-based learning management (LMS) solution that helps businesses and nonprofit organizations to manage, track and deliver training to employees or affiliates. The solution offers a tiled user interface and a team of experts.
Trainers and administrators can access a dashboard to get a glimpse of employee training progress while employees can log on to see their training requirements in one place.
Social learning functionality allows trainees to collaborate and discuss trainings with each other in the solution while mobile learning ensures that Torch LMS can be accessed via computer, tablet or phone remotely.

After years (3!) of researching a replacement LMS, with very high expectations, we identified Torch as the ONLY one meeting all of our requirements. Very specific requirements, and a lot of them. We were expecting a lot and willing to settle a little. Didn't have to, though! We were one of the first adopters of the "Enterprise" version and after some initial hiccups to work through (that aren't there anymore), we're very pleased with the system. WE meaning our LMS administrators but moreso our users- it provides users with a simple experience that helps them learn and get the job done with no hassle.
Working with Prometheus has been a great experience. Good support, they're adaptable and not only take enhancement requests but implement the best of them. The system is comprehensive in functionality, has a fast UI, and very easy to use. It's sufficiently customizable, scalable, and I look forward to the regular enhancements that make it better all the time.

- Very easy/fast to credit learners with multiple activities (great for an organization that conducts and needs to document lots of instructor-led activities)
- Very robust options for automation (assigning specific activities, etc.)
- Customizable "user" fields to allow for detailed user information
- Excellent Grouping functionality (learner groups based on many potential criteria) - helpful for a large organization with many different categories of learners
- Reporting allows full access to all user and learning data
- As a fairly new Enterprise system, there are still some glitches/minor bugs (to which the company is responsive to fixing)
- Reports export as .csv. Not a big deal for those comfortable with Excel, but if exported to .xls or another format with some formatability would be nice. Not a deal breaker, though!
- No integrated eCommerce (e.g., shopping cart/payment) functionality
If you are seeking a system that can handle automation rules, complex learner grouping, in-depth reporting, this can do it. Ask them to show you HOW the system can accomplish what you want (don't just take this or any vendor's word for it).

Our regional gas utility of 1500+ employees recently upgraded to Torch Enterprise from Promethus Development. Having a lot of government mandated requirements for training of our field workforce we needed a robust and easy to use LMS. We were approached by Promethus and were one of the early adopters of the program and now that we've gone through the pain of the upgrade, we're glad we did.
It's easy to navigate for the end user, the admins can direct training and everything just works the way we expect it.
Good admin tools. Upload training, assign training, track training, nag users who haven't done their training and automatically keep up to date state and federal mandated records.

The reporting could be a little more robust and easier, but once you figure it out you can get pretty much everything you're hoping for.
There's about 100,000 LMS's out there. 80% of them are questionable. Torch Enterprise came in at a good price point with a solid product. Check it out to see if it would work for you.
We moved from Torch to another LMS provider with whom we've been now for a good two years. It was a big decision and we ended up spending much more with the new provider. At their worst, however, they're better than Torch.
It is relatively easy to operate in. It doesn't take an IT staff member just to work within the platform. Almost anyone can work in this software.
Needs to be updated to have some more current features. Gotta stream in HD for video at the minimum. The amount of times that our system was down is frustrating and alarming. It's clunky within the system sometimes and the reporting is lackluster at best.

It gave us the ability to implement a Single-Sign-On system so we could use our network logins to access the webpage
It didn't really have much use for the users though. We would just open the site, and "sign" that we went over some material that didn't require us to actually do anything with it.

I love learning and this software has made it simple. They have been working with our company also to provide us with company specific trainings to help us progress within the company as well. I truly appreciate torch and have only been using it for 6 months so far. Now the only thing I really need is the ability to speed up my personal ability to learn. Another item is, I am not sure if this is my company or partial torch, but always wanting feedback and acting on that feedback is a beautiful thing
There is not a lot I have found that I don't like yet. This software has been very simple for me to use which is number one as always, and it seems to be full of educational videos and quizzes.

The price compared to many others we reviewed is great. I think you get what you pay for with this product and company. They are helpful to fix the problems, the problem is that there are issues that come up on a regular basis.
Torch LMS is easy to use from a user's standpoint. There are clean learning paths and easy to use apps that mimic a tablet.
From an admin standpoint, the help feature is a nice assistant if you forget how to set up something. There's a lot of thought into the logic of setting up a feature should work, using questions and if/then statements. In some ways this is extremely helpful, in others it seems to be too convoluted for the intended outcome.
Development team has done a pretty good job of working on features we have requested be added. Not sure how much of this happens with other companies, but they seem to want to give us the features we ask for in a timely manner.
The Torch product performs really inconsistently for users and admins, depending on roll outs of code and various other changes on the back end. We've had lots of issues out of the box with features that were promised. My company had a unique org structure, so this may be difficult to change on the back end. That being said, it seems like the org structure logic is set a certain way and difficult to change. This was one area that was explained before signing a contract. We were assured this wouldn't be a problem, but it has been an underlying issue in a lot of things we want developed or created.

At the time of implementation, our company had never used an LMS and learning material was searched for on various network drives. We really didn't even have a budget. TorchLMS was an easy decision and the product and are use has scaled. We have won business as a result of saying we can deliver training content via LMS
You will hear things are fixed and never heard they are broken in the first place. The front end is a lot easier than the back end administrative tools

Torch Enterprise is a solid LMS with good features. It's not as fancy as some, but you're paying a good price for a good LMS. Sure you could pay 10K to 50K more, and you may get more bells and whistles but for the money you won't get any better customer service.
Straight forward, clean interface, Customizeable, support staff speaks English and gets right on your issues.
Reporting could be improved. Ad hoc reporting is a little hokey.
Look around, compare, look at value per dollar. Torch will impress
Torch has a great team of folks who genuinely strive to set you up for success and support your training initiative. They have answered my questions all the way from problems with the way I set up a SCORM course, to helping with our infrastructure in IT, to supporting their system when we encounter various bugs.
All that to say, the people are great!

Overall Torch is a very good company and has a great product to be partnered with. The system is able to handle our growing company, we have been a customer with Torch since they were established many many years ago. I have worked very closely with several member of the Torch team and they have been very responsive and very good to work with. I would recommend Torch to anyone. If I had to mention any con, it would have to be in the reporting aspect of Torch. Torch actually offers a large array of reports to choose from as well as very good custom reports that get you any information that you would need. The only part that is not too conducive to a fast past working environment, is the speed in which the reports take to run and export the data.
Overall, Torch in all aspects is very good! Great company, great people, great product!

Our company has been using Torch LMS for nearly 2 years now and it has been a tremendous asset to our Learning and Development program. We used another vendor prior to switching and the functionality and interface have been a world of difference.
Because we were one of the first to use Torch LMS there were some initial things we still needed to fully utilize the program but working with the team there was quick and easy and implementation of those features has been added. We push out at least one training a week to over 300 users. Courses are easy to find, progress is simple and quick to view and the administrative functions allow us to manage our program efficiently.
Overall, I would recommend Torch LMS to any company looking to increase their employee engagement when it comes to Learning and Development.

Torch is a very robust product for our middle-sized, international organization. We had an exceptionally long 'wish list' of features and Torch offers that. Our priorities were 1.) the user experience, 2.) functionality and flexibility, 3.) administrator ease-of-use. The customer support is unusually friendly, professional and very responsive. Our experience was that there were a few enhancements that need to be refined, but overall the program offers tremendous value so it's been worth it for us. We have no regrets about our vendor or product selection whatsoever.
