Great experience with WebLoad

PROS

The ability to be able to register more than 1000 records with a script is just amazing.

CONS

Each term, I would have to create a new script that included new terms and new courses. Although I did make some minimal changes (terms and courses) to one script to see if it would work, for best performance, I was recommended to create a new script.

Great Overall Product that fit for our business

The easy scripting and open nature of the load testing framework makes WebLoad a great tool in the toolboxes of any test engineers.

PROS

The JS with custom functions were easy to write scripts in and fast to implement. The vUser parameters and use of the load generators were straight forward to implement the behaviors we wish to replicate as well.

CONS

Sometimes the agent that manages the remote load testing execution was unstable, so we had to implement some restart actions prior to running our load tests. It wasn't a critical problem, but was a simple solution we added to our load testing process.

Reasons for switching to WebLOAD

The expensive complex infrastructure from HP wasn't necessary and also their scripting framework was outdated when compared to the simplicity of using JavaScript.

CONS

Sometimes it's a but sensitive in realtime sitiuations (console) You sort of learn what you can and can't do. i.e when you click around to much in an ongoing test the console sometimes freeze or at worse crash.

Good performance testing tool

PROS

One of the standout features of WebLOAD is its ability to simulate realistic user scenarios. The tool allows developers and QA's to create complex user scenarios that mimic real-world usage patterns, which can be invaluable for identifying performance issues and bottlenecks in web applications. Additionally, WebLOAD allows developers and QA's to test the applications across a range of different platforms, including desktop and mobile devices.

CONS

A limitation of WebLOAD is that it is primarily designed for testing web applications. While it can be used for testing other types of applications, such as APIs or mobile apps, it may not be as effective in these contexts. This can be a problem for organizations that need to test a variety of applications and services.
