Pros/Cons
Pros
- I generally have a great time with Inventor. I like how handy it is and how convinient most of the functions were arranged and easy to find.
- I have had a really good learning experience. I designed the parts for my thesis project using inventor, and it was a lot of fun.
- Inventor is very good at turning a part file into both assembiles and working drawings. The images it makes is just as good as anything you would find in IKEA assembly instructions.
Cons
- Premade projects are difficult to introduce to beginner students. Having to send all part files with assembly makes sharing assemblies between teacher and students very difficult.
- Too many features, some of them are hard to find. With everything that this program can do I understand making every function noticable is impossible but I did google a few "How-Tos.
- So if you insert 100 Identical components, it’s gonna take you forever to constrain them in your assembly. Also there is no assembly mirror that associative.
Pros
- Response from users has been great. The ease of use, the ability to extract and analyze data is something everyone appreciates.
- Wonderful owner of the company who is very knowledgeable of his product. Has a positive attitude and is very helpful.
- We are impressed by how responsive the team is to individual needs and their willingness to customize modules as necessary. The system is well-thought-out and executed.
Cons
- There is still a problem between the warehouse system and the boxes with the finished product that makes it unable to use the same box number.
- Because of the nature of this business, the amount of data across multiple sources was immense and caused lags in the software.
- You can limit or restrict users to only access what is necessary. Also, with this system, you can always be sure that the vendor will find a way to do what you need.
