It's easy to teach and train employees on how to use it. Our business has grow significantly since the implementation of ProShop. It's allowed us to take on more work, more difficult work and maintain the same level of overhead. The system is organized nicely and creates a lot of efficiencies in non manufacturing roles. #### Cons Some of the menus do get deep and there are a lot of ways to navigate to the same location. Some people like this, and others do not. I've enjoyed the system; it has made my job of scheduling much clearer and easier. I also really like the phantom order plug in to get a better idea of how what you are quoting can affect the rest of the orders on each machines schedule before you even get the new order. All you have to do is conform to the system and you will find very few problems in your operation. #### Cons When you go outside the system parameters you can run into issues. I also think the shipping module could use some improvement. Now that we are done trying to fight against the current it is making everyone's life easier. Having the information you need at the tips of your fingers is priceless. My overall experience has been outstanding! Our Training Implementer was very knowledgeable about the system and a great teacher. The online ProShop Academy is one of the best online training platforms that I have used. Mostly we are able to modify aspects of PS to work for us but we need slight modifications so we can have the system work as we need to and not modify what we do to fill in the system. 2) The last PS chat I had was the BEST EVER and most helpful experience. Traceability and overall accuracy are of most importance. With multiple levels of quality control (including check lists and document verification), Proshop provides security and confidence in our work. The fluidity of each module and their relationship to each other is intuitive. #### Cons In the beginning, Proshop was a dramatic change from our previously disorganized system. We have learned to approach things differently, in a more efficient way with Proshop. Any complaints I may have are easily resolved with research and practice. We have only explored 60% of Proshop's capabilities. No incentive was offered I think it is an excellent piece of software. If you are a small to mid sized manufacturing company in a highly regulated industry, I doubt you'll find anything better. This software just solves so many headaches that other companies probably don't even think about. Examples of things which can save a lot of time including features like the automatic generation of first article inspection reports and automatic retrieval of product documentation (e.g., material/processing certs). As such, they have an intimate knowledge of the problems machinists face and the software solutions that can help solve those problems. If you are a small to medium sized job shop in a highly regulated industry, I doubt you will find anything better. #### Cons There isn't a whole lot of guardrails built into the system to prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot (e.g., input validation). If you are not careful, you can break links between records or enter data in an incorrect format. For the most part, ProShop silently ignores incorrectly formatted input, which can affect system behavior. There are also some system behaviors that aren't totally transparent to the user. I think the above issues are just a consequence of in-house software being released to the general public. Since they built the software, they knew it intimately so there was likely less of a need for detailed documentation and/or guardrails. I believe the above problems will become less of a problem over time as their help documentation is improved and features are added to make the software more user friendly. #### Reasons for choosing ProShop ERP ProShop seems like it was designed for our company. The company that created this software used to be a manufacturer in the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries, so they understand exactly what a job shop in a regulated industry needs since they lived it. #### Reasons for switching to ProShop ERP We were using a proprietary legacy system that had reached the end of its useful life. The big thing is it has everything included you don't have to keep buying modules to run the normal run of the mill things. #### Cons Takes a while to learn the system you need to be prepared for around 6 months of teething problems unless you have a experienced user that would make a world of difference. other than that I don't really have and dislikes because any of my old dislikes are likes now because I sort of know what I' doing which helps heaps with anything really. #### Reasons for choosing ProShop ERP Its purposely developed for a machine shop environment so had everything I needed and more. The number one thing that ProShop has helped our shop do is to make Employees MORE self-sufficient. Instead of asking questions up the chain of command, and involving everyone in a decision making process, employees have all the information available to them to do what is needed on their own, and have confidence that they are doing it correctly. Right now, our shop does not have a dedicated sales team, but when it does, Proshop will support it. Same goes with inspection, shipping, accounting, and of course every task you could ever think of on the shop floor. Better yet is the fact that if you choose NOT to use certain features of Proshop, it does not cripple the shops functionality. It is not an All or Nothing ERP, meaning that you can take the time needed to grow into it without killing your throughput during the learning curve. #### Cons I think that the multi-layer assembly quoting could use some work. Adding the ability to pull multi-tiered price-breaks for a high number of purchased parts in complex assemblies is an area that needs improvement. The software has many other features that set a company up for success such as training, quality control, time management, inventory management, ability to eliminate tribal knowledge and so many more. The organization of the software is simple and easy to use. I also love that the company is still small enough that you know everyone. You get to know and work with the same guys that you started with post implementation. #### Cons For the most part Proshop is very easy to learn and is user friendly, however, there are some of the advanced features that require some specific training and knowledge to fully understand. You learn all that in time. With that said, Proshop has a training and support ticket system that is exceptional and they are always there to help. #### Reasons for choosing ProShop ERP Proshop has everything a company could need to be successful and the support team is incredible. The software modules fit our industry needs precisely. #### Reasons for switching to ProShop ERP After looking at several ERP and scheduling software packages, we narrowed it down to two options. Proshop seemed to have everything and more to allow us to meet our goals and included on-site training and implementation. Don’t get me wrong, it served the shop very well for a long time, but it was tired, cumbersome and built on a platform no longer supported. I came from an IT background many years ago, specifically integrating various solutions into manufacturing ERP systems and I immediately began researching all the options on the market. Fortunately, I came across ProShop, headed to IMTS to meet with their crew and came home knowing what choice I was making. The results? My management team alone is saving 40+ hours weekly simply having important information available at their finger tips to make decisions quickly and confidently. Knowing what jobs are running when, our purchasing department has been able to buy smarter resulting in COGS reduction of +10% through the first 6 months of implementation. Shop management is able to, at a glance, schedule jobs across 30+ machines in a logical order that helps ensure we deliver parts on time to our customers. We are able to communicate with customers in real-time about their jobs and make adjustments as necessary to make certain our customer needs are met. #### Cons None. My biggest hesitation was rolling out a paperless system to our team. The ProShop team made the entire process so easy! Data is at one's fingertips! Job status can easily be reviewed and reported back to the customer with confidence. With a simple query search, one can easily glean off of past jobs for production times, out of pocket costs, setup information, etc. the list goes on. Another aspect would be understanding shop capacity and schedule. This is key to meeting growing customer expectations and the ability to take on expedite orders. I would also add that the Adion team is quick to respond to client requests or questions through an online support desk. Having worked with Adion for a few years now, I can attest to their enduring customer support and continual improvement of their help documentation page. Most help can be found instantly within ProShop or is one click away. And they are constantly reaching out and keeping clients informed through webinars and email updates. It has been my pleasure to work with the Adion team. #### Cons N/A If I must, I would request that Adion consider looking into developing a 'RFQ Module'. The advanced query functionality is extremely powerful which means some of the query syntax can get a bit complicated. If you ever need some help or training on making a query please just reach out and ask. Our support team would be happy to help you make one, save it for your future use and we never charge for that type of support. And you'll be pleased to know that pretty soon we are releasing en entirely new indexing engine and visualization capability, so making reports will be even more powerful but much easier. And the new visual charts and graphs will provide all the data you need in a very visual dashboard.
