They let you set up basis templates if you have knowledge of basic HTML knowledge. Interns ans freelancers can make their own clients to send their own emails and make little savings of their own out of it. I say win win.
Setting up of and maintaining the emails sending list isn't as good as it should be. And customer support are a little hard to deal with.

This software has very nice templates for emailing prospective clients and it pretty easy to implement, the functions and features are so easy that I as a beginner was able to send out a vivid and catchy email!
The software is a bit pricey. I would like to be able to customize it even more. Once you pass the learning curve it is pretty simplistic.

If you a are looking for simplicity, this software is what you need to look at. Email monitoring is very easy and tracking is reliable.
The interface is simple and intuitive, as you don't have to spend hours figuring creating new templates. Cost is pretty low compared to other alternatives and availability of advanced features such as A/B testing, data segmentation really add to the overall package.
Limited ability to edit HTML once templates are uploaded. A more user friendly drag-and-drop editor would be a great addition to CampaignMonitor. Reporting could use improving, and better integrations for triggered emails would be great.

Nice User interface. Good collection of templates. Best for small businesses as it has pricing depends upon the quantity of newsletters sent.

They are very impressive during the sales process to get you on the hook and then dump you during the onboarding process. The account reps at this company are horrendous. Very unprofessional. I was completely turned off by the way I was treated by this company.

Ease of use- you can set up an email campaign in minutes, and it's very user friendly. Works for basic email sends.
This is a great baseline tool for email marketing, but I wouldn't recommend it for complex nurture and lifecycle campaigns, as it is not as robust as other enterprise tools on the market.

Easy to use and very simplistic. Love the UI, functions and features. Everyone including the beginner can shortly send out an eye popping email. They have brought my email campaigns to another level of professionalism.
Software is on the pricey side compared to others. The support is good although not with live. Only so much you can do customization wise. Other than that it does the job.

Not worth what you pay. Emails go to spam (it claims they don't, but the filtering software in most email services kicks it to spam)
It is actually difficult to find a lot of pros. While is does what it claims (sends mass emails, gives you feedback and responses).
The templates are more burdensome than helpful. A fully custom design wouldn't work for us. The value for the money just isn't there. Customer service didn't help... they just reiterated what was already clearly explained on the website. Overall, very disappointed and I will keep looking.

Requires lot of time especially if you just started using the software. But one time only like encoding your contacts and making your first template.

I have used Campaign Monitor and still follow their progress as I was impressed at their start product, yet for some time I have switched to Mailerlite which surprised me with nice payment plan and great features.
You can add subscribers as you're setting up your first campaign or as a separate process. Subscribers must be part of a list that you create, although you can set up unlimited lists, which is one way to segment your usersCreating a campaign is also easy. To start, you just need a name, subject line, and an email address for the "From" field (you can set up a separate "reply to" email as well).
Campaign Monitor may lack live support and third-party integrations, but it offers a simple way to connect with your audience through email marketing, including auto-responders and a new suite of analytics.

The software is classy, excellent looking, has great analytics, is very reasonable, is easy to set up and manage AND if there is any trouble, CampaignMonitor has an outstanding customer service team. We have been using CM for several years now and from the first newsletter we sent out we were impressed.

Campaign Monitor makes it easy to set up email campaigns- whether you're a beginner to email or have a few years of experience behind you. It's easy to set up a campaign and send to a reasonably sized list.
It doesn't scale for larger businesses; additionally, tier pricing can be tricky if you plan on adding subscribers to your account over time. You really have to be mindful of what you're loading in to the tool.
This is ideal software for someone who is planning on adding email to the mix. Though it's not a larger solution, it works for smaller and one-off campaigns. Know your send volume and make sure it fits.

The UI is neat, simple and straightforward. It works like a charm. The support is great and responsive.
If we had a free plan for accounts with little usage and small lists, it would be great. Some customers and non-profits pick a competitor just because of this.
I've used many services (and still use some competitor services for some customers and/or projects) but Campaign Monitor is definitely my service of choice when it comes to emailing. Even for tight budgets, I think that the quality of the tools and the support you get are really worth the few dollars you'll pay for it. Don't take my word for granted: just create a free account and test it. You just have to pay when you're ready to send to more than 5 subscribers :)

The focus on great user experience and effective design throughout the backend is second to none. It actually makes using Campaign Monitor a pleasure to use.
Off the top of my head - nothing! Possibly, during the transition to the new templating system a few years back, it took a little while to get used to it. But that's more a user error. Now I'm so pleased they changed things up.
Give it a go. It's honestly a country mile easier to use that it's closes competitors. Looking at you MailChimp!

I had been experimenting with different solutions to help me keep in touch with my customers. Campaign Monitor was the most professional looking. I like how easy it is to import contact lists and how I'm able to add email addresses to the do not contact list if necessary. I would definitely recommend Campaign Monitor for those without much experience launching online/email campaigns, it is user friendly.
It would be great if you could build visual workflows for the marketing campaigns and set up triggers for those workflows. But the journeys they have in place are not bad.

I used Campaign Monitor at my last job. I liked that it was built for web savvy marketers. My current employer uses MailChimp which is "accessible", but not nearly as powerful as Campaign Monitor.
Campaign Monitor was a harder sell to my bosses. They were more familiar with MailChimp, but familiarity shouldn't trump the right decision; but it did.

So easy to use, it’s not even possiable to access the HTML or SQL. Anyone can pick this tool up easy.
Usually you compromize ease of use for robust, advanced features. But, there’s not too many issues with this. Sometimes I have to be creative, but I have always made it work. I hope to see more on the automated program features - like being able to exclude if they’re on another list.

The overall quality of the software is good. It is easy to use and implement. The best features of this software is the collections of the email template that is very effective and help us to get more responses. We can easily personalize the emails.
It is a good tools for those who are having good knowledge in coding but can be difficult for the users who are not expert in coding. It lacks some of the features than other similar softwares like Sales force's Marketing Cloud.

I feel like I've tested nearly all of the email marketing software out there and Campaign Monitor is easily one of the best options out there. Great UI/UX, easy to use, and lots of integrations and templates. Highly recommended!
Getting used to the software was really the only small issue some of our team ran into. I was pretty used to Mailchimp and SendGrid so getting used to this wasn't too much of an issue. There is also lots of online tutorials and they have quality customer services as well.

This platform is great for agencies or freelancers who want to set clients up to send their own emails but you make a percentage which you determine with every send they executed. It is also easy to set up the templates with basic html code.

Cheap newsletters.
Sends very (VERY) basic eNewsletters. Pricing is based on number of enewsletter sent, so it's basically pay-as-you-go which may be good for customers with limited budgets.
Probably best for small companies or organizations, not sending many newsletters, needing little customization, and not doing much marketing tracking.
Very few template or customization options. Extremely clunky editing widgets. Terrible customer service when help was requested setting up a new template. I received a response that was basically "Well I can do it, so the problem is clearly yours."
The data reports from the newsletters were very limited. Process for sending was very manual. Had to upload new lists (via excel) of recipients each time, for every newsletter sent.

It makes it easy for us to send emails to our list of 200,000+ subscribers. While the features are basic, and we want to see more advanced controls and segmentation features added, it's a stable system.
Extremely solid and reliable ESP. Doesn't go down often, and there are minimal issues with deliverability. The features are basic, but solid and there aren't many bugs.
There's a strong lack of features. For example, there are no simple ways to send emails to an unopened segment. There's also no way to easily clean/prune inactive email subscribers. And third, there are limitations on automation triggers.

The worldview it's fun right? Now, for things that matter more: it has nice templates and relatively easy to implement. Customization could be improved. In the end if you get the job done, coming in than all it's left for you to do is watch those people opening your emails on worldview while siping your favorite drink, eh? ;)
There is room to improve the template customization and email segmentation. The way contacts are calculated for billing purposes is not ideal.

I am able to create beautiful email campaigns in a very little amount of time.
This software has brought my mail campaigns to life. All of the emails I have made stand out beautifully. I try not to get too crazy with my decorations but overall they look much more professional.
There was definitely a learning process when I first started. I had expected this tool to be much easier. Granted I am not the most computer savvy.
