Pros/Cons
Pros
- I love that Canto allows us to get a better handle of our digital assets through customized tagging and make sure the appropriate people or groups to see the right images.
- I also love the Facial Recognition feature - no more tagging the same people over and over. The company consistently improves the software and innovates - releasing frequent feature updates.
- The simplicity for the system and the search is brilliant. Users find it very easy to locate the files they need and download in the resolution that suits them right up to max original size.
Cons
- The extension always disappears from our extensions, and it has to be cleared out of our computer which leaves all of our documents with missing links.
- There are fewer project management-related features in Canto than in some other products. The inability to assign tasks, for example, is absent from Canto at this time.
- I always seem to have trouble navigating the different folders. Sometimes things are not in the folders or expired.
Pros
- The ability to create collections is great as a function separate from the browser, so you can assemble assets into your own custom groups without needing to duplicate assets or create folders.
- They're super transparency about their maintenance time too, which we really appreciate. We especially love the folder sharing option or having a client directly upload photos to our folder.
- And on that note, Portals is a great feature too for granting larger scale access to assets. Lastly, customer service is superb and engaged, and genuinely seems to care about your issues.
Cons
- My only real complaint at the moment is that the portals are not optimized for mobile browsing.
- It should be able to search within all folders even if you have one folder selected. This has confused people in the past.
- I found the initial plan/purchase options a little confusing, as far as how many seats we got for how much money.
