It's an indispensable tool in email communication today!

Pros

I like to the fact that I can follow every email I send you to know what happens to it. It provides me with informed deductions about my next step of action towards achieving my goal.

Cons

I paused for a while trying to figure out what I don't like about it and nothing really jumped out. There may be little things i am not aware off but not that important to have caught my attention.

Pros

product has great customization, most notably the formatting easiness. i use both this, and iContact. I noticed that iContact has a little more ease on testing messages, while this ones customization has more depth.

Cons

split testing could use a little work. I like having an ability to see which emails i can differentiate before actually separating them myself and then saving them as new lists.

This program has great customization options with preloaded templates for free use. The scheduling option is extremely valuable to us as we can get ahead of our communications and schedule them for optimum click action.

I like Constant Contact and am happy to recommend it as a reliable system

Pros

Constant Contact is an easy to use, fairly intuitive, and a great companion in communication. Constant Contact is proactive in offering new ideas and learnings. The themes that come with Constant Contact are basically good.

Cons

Creating and saving your own template in Constant Contact can be somewhat frustrating. Moving lines and boxes do not always cooperate and the font characters have a mind of their own.

Pros

Building emails is very easy to do with this platform. Everything is drag and drop and very self explanatory. We were able to completely revamp our newsletter and easily organize the lists we wanted to send it out to.

Cons

If you'd like to break down which users opened which link in an email that is something that we had to do manually. The templates could be a little more modern but it's worth it for the money you're paying for it. The emails look very different in different browsers so just be sure to test it before sending it out.

Value for Money

If you have a small business or basic marketing needs, Constant Contact is a great solution. It is not that expensive and is very simple to use. For more robust marketing needs, I think there are better platforms to utilize.

Pros

Easy to use and understand. Constant Contact can be learned quickly even if someone has no prior experience using it or any other email marketing platform.

Cons

Very limited--Constant Contact claims to do marketing automation for more robust campaigns but it really lacks in keeping a database of customers.

Overall, I've had a very positive experience.

Pros

Working collaboratively to build email campaigns from templates. I also really liked that the templates were adjustable, so I was able to customize some of the details.

Constant Contact gets the job done, but it's a bit pricey. There are competitors that offer very similar functionality for a lot less.

Pros

It has the necessary features to maintain a contact list and email templates. It's simple and easy to navigate. There are tags that help with contact organization and contacts can be imported in bulk.

Cons

The email editor is a little outdated and pretty annoying. The templates don't look great- especially on mobile. The process for sending out a nice-looking email is not fool-proof. It's kind of expensive considering the features and the limited amount of contacts you are allowed.

Expensive but great templates. The templates can be a great selling point because there are so many out there (including myself) that are not creative and don't want to waste the time trying to be!

Pros

There are several templates available that make this program great. The editor feature is easy to use. Plus they have free trial that you can use which is awesome.

Cons

It is rather expensive and I have encountered many glitches through my use of the program. I prefer Mailchimp to this program any day. I have too many business contacts to be paying so much money for this program.

Constant Contact is a great option for small-to-midsize companies - the price is right for the level of functionality you get.

Pros

The WYSIWYG email editor is very easy to understand, as are the email lists. I haven't used Constant Contact as my database of record in the past, but it has allowed me to upload a bunch of different lists and keeping track of them is simple. The unsubscribe process is easy and clear, and because so many people use Constant Contact, there's a level of trust in their subscriptions.

Cons

This is a problem that's also present in other products that allow anyone to design, but often the features that the email editor allows you to put together actually don't look that good. Obviously, that's what you get in exchange for flexibility, but if you choose to use Constant Contact, you should have someone with a design background run through the email templates your team creates to ensure they make sense visually.

Cons

When going through to delete customers that have no opened their email in a certain period of time - it was difficult to check to see who had opened and who had not over a course of time and we would have to go through and individually select hundreds of contacts to delete them. Easy to setup and get going without requiring a huge marketing budget or team. Templates made it easy to send out professional communications without a design background.

Pros

Easy to use and set up. Didn't take much time to get up and running on the product and begin sending out communications quickly and easily. Provided basic templates out of the box so we didn't need much design work initially.

Cons

At the time, integration with our ERP was nonexistent. Not sure if this was on the Constant Contact side or the ERP side. We never could figure out a great way to do any A/B testing through Constant Contact. Also couldn't send an email based on an open or click on a previous message. We knew that heading in but it became a bigger issue than we thought.

A great, cheap way to increase your marketing presence. Trackable links show which recipients are actively reading and interacting with your newsletters.

Pros

I like the built-in templates. It's hard to choose which one to use sometimes because there are so many great options. The templates are eye-catching, and open rates are pretty high. Also, the trackable links are a great addition; being able to see how active readers are helps with design of future newsletters. For example, we put our latest 5 blog entries on each of our newsletters, and we can see who is actively reading and clicking into our site from the newsletter.

Cons

Sometimes you can accidentally back out of the editor and lose your work. You need to make sure you save every time you add a section.

Easy to create and manage basic email lists and campaigns.

Pros

Relatively easy to use for basic functionality. I can easily set up multiple email lists and create email campaigns. To their credit, Constant Contact has improved the layout and library tools over the years (I've been using the product for almost 10 years). However, the contact management tools are lacking (see below).

Cons

Two key drawbacks. First, they keep raising the price without adding any real additional value. Yes, the layout and library tools have improved. But really those improvements should be to keep up with technology and competition. Also, storage is always getting cheaper. So why the price increases? Worse, they experimented with ads to users a few times. Second, they lack good tools to manage your contact database to minimize your total contacts and save money. You pay by how many total contacts you have. Unfortunately, CC makes it difficult to cull the contacts who have not been opening your emails. Why is there no simple tool "Show me anyone who has not opening my emails during the last year?" Instead, I have to tediously cull my contact list by hand, or download misc. lists into Excel. I don't know if the competitor (Mail Chimp) is better, but I'm getting very tempted to check...

Great for a small business person looking to start and grow an email list of clients.

They have a WYSIWYG editor to easily make designs, but also access to the HTML of you need it for any reason.

They're heavy into marketing, which is why people hear about them more than some of the other options on the market.

I used it for a small business that already had an account, and it worked fine but it wasn't anything outstanding.

Cons

Ultimately I would not recommend this program for a small business to use as there are better and cheaper options on the market.

It's definitely not powerful enough to be a marketing solution for a large corporation so it seems possibly most suited for medium sized businesses who have a decent budget.

Pros

I love how user-friendly it is. As a person who hadn't had much experience with using programs with mass emails, scheduling, etc- I was super happy with how easy it was to navigate. I loved how I could pull up my past emails- and then just edit them in the same format for future ones.

Cons

The thing I liked least about this software was the limited graphics and fonts included in the subscription.
