    Not the best CRM...

Constant Contact was probably my least favorite CRM that I have tried. As much as I loved the template options and beautiful layouts I could create with it, there were some crazy bugs that would make images show up wrong and text formatting that would change for no reasons I could figure out. It made things very frustrating, and eventually, I gave up with the software altogether.

    Pros

It had some great layout options for beautiful messages.

    Cons

It was VERY buggy, and things—especially images—would go wonky for reasons I could never figure out.

It does pretty much everything I can currently imagine wanting to do with email, and more.

    Pros

It's so easy to use compared to other tools that make you work twice as hard to accomplish the same results.

    Cons

Honestly, there's really nothing to dislike. I've been very happy with it.

Constant Contact still seems to be a fairly robust email solution but for my purposes - which do involve the frequent creation of drip style email campaigns - there is little about it that would make me switch back from MailChimp at the moment.

    Pros

A number of years ago - maybe five - I made use of Constant Contact often for client campaigns - but in recent years most of them (and myself) have migrated away to Mailchimp. I returned to CC recently for a new client's campaign. Years on I had forgotten how nicely designed the templates were. The template editor also seems to have improved as well. In terms of campaign design creation it equals, and maybe even exceeds Mailchimp's capabilities.

    Cons

The workflow settings for drip campaign creation are, in my opinion, inferior to those offered by Mailchimp and other email softwares. It is not as easy to navigate or as flexible. That was quite a disappointment.

    Excellent and easy to use.

    Pros

Easy to use and lots of choices to be creative.

    Cons

The monthly cost. If your email blast is for thousands of clients then this website is for you as there is a monthly fee but if you have less then 2000 client base there is no need to use this website as there are less expensive ones available.

Overall, its just worth using this company.

    Pros

Very easy to use and setup. GREAT customer support... American! Great captcha option for website subscriptions.

    Cons

Pricing. It's a bit more expensive than MailChimp and MailerLite. Sales team is a bit pusher... had to hang up on one of them before I moved to their services.

it has been helpful getting reporting on who really we wanted to connect with.

    Pros

I like the ease of use in managing the connection to our audience.

    Cons

I am not fond of its twitchy layout and that translates into an email layout that is messy sometimes for no reason.

Overall, I like it especially when managing multiple accounts.

    Pros

It is easy to use especially with the partners program. We manage over 60 accounts and the partners program makes the process much less painfully with one login for all accounts.

    Cons

It is a tad bit clunky when working with their templates. We manage multiple accounts and we do rapid-fire emails to our agents SOI. I don't like that the default email subject line is enter subject line and is not obvious if you missed this field. Having missed it once, I won't make that mistake again, but it should still be more obvious and no defaults.

Constant contact is an old-school tool for an old-school salesteam. If you're a car dealership in the 80's it's the tool for you. Some people can sell by keeping in touch with customers via automated mail templates, but I wouldn't waste your time on it.

    Pros

It sends emails to our customer base regarding promotions. Salesmen like the idea of it.

    Cons

Expensive. Not intuitive for your average "old-guy" salesman. Can overwhelm customers and make you get spamboxed. Customization tools a-la Hello [customer_name].

I have had great success with Constant Contact over the years. This tool will make you money to pay for the cost and your clients will appreciate the consistency in your business.

    Pros

I have used this software program for years in my real estate business. This is a great way to stay in front of your clients and potential clients. I can schedule this software to contact clients as little or as often as I like. I love the customizable newsletters and mailers to keep things interesting and fun.

    Cons

I would like to be able to integrate other programs to cooperate with this software, sending my clients updated listings, things like that. Otherwise, this is a powerful marketing tool and one of the best products for the money out there.

Buggiest downside for our company is the limited automation. As a small company we're looking for software that allows our team to function like a larger team.

LOVE what Constant Contact does for our charity. It's easy to put out information for monthly educational programs.

I would highly recommend this product to any business, no matter the size. It is user-friendly, it is professional and it is an invaluable business software to have in the technical age we are living in. My company uses it on a weekly basis, if not more.

    Pros

This software is invaluable if you have a database of clients that you want to send email blasts, invitations, updates, coupons, flyers, etc. It is relatively easy to use, comes with templates that are attractive and functional, and you are able to sort the emails you collect in different databases depending on which demographic you want to target. It is also gives you stats and feedback on how the email was received, opened, clicked on, responded to, etc.

    Cons

I have no complaints other than if you collect a certain size database the monthly fee goes up.

This was much simpler than using desktop publishing to send out our newsletter every month. It streamlined the process and allowed me to schedule distribution ahead of time. I found it to be a useful tool.

    Pros

I was able to personalize the templates to include my company's logo and colors

    Cons

Sometimes I had problems with the text boxes jumping around and had to go back to a previous saved version and start over.

    Pros

I started using Constance Contact to start a weekly newsletter as a journalism intern about 3 years ago. What I liked the most about it was how easy it is to use as a beginner. My manager at the time had an entire training session set up for us to understand how it works, but after a few minutes, we both realized how intuitive the interface was for anyone who knows how to use a computer. I was able to send out my first newsletter just a few minutes after we purchased the software.

    Cons

The only con with Constant Contact is the automatic renewal. Since we had just started sending out a newsletter, we wanted to try other programs like Mailchimp or Act-On, but we were automatically billed with no warning and had no choice but to continue using it.

    Pros

I really like the various templates I can choose from. No matter what "theme" I need, I can always find one that fits. The great thing is it is fully customizable, even the pre-formatted templates. I also appreciate the feedback I get. I like seeing who opened the e-mail's and who unsubscribed. It allows me to learn and create better e-mail content. It is so easy to use, even people with limited computer skills can create great content.

    Cons

The price is high and based on how many subscribers I get, which means the more popular I get the more I pay. This means that when I do events and add a lot of people to my list I end up having to pay more, even if those people never open my e-mails or unsubscribe. It also does not offer e-mail automation, I have to use another system to do that which is a hassle and time consuming.
