GetResponse provides an email creator that helps users draft emails without any prior knowledge of programming. This module contains templates for sending emails and images for supporting design requirements.

Get Response's Inbox Preview feature displays how emails appear. A/B testing enables users to test the effectiveness of a campaign by optimizing elements such as subject line and the best time to send. GetResponse follows a responsive design approach, the appearance of emails can change according to the device display. The solution’s List Booster feature can import contacts from hard disks and mail clients such as Gmail, Magento, Salesforce and Highrise. It also implements an auto-respond module, which can send birthday emails and customized offers. Pricing is per month. Support is offered via chat, email and tutorials.

Powerful autoresponder for startups

Positive experience.

Pros

They are fair and wont randomly stop you sending emails unlike mailchimp. Its very easy to send well designed emails.

Cons

The webinar software isn't that great, it's a little bit pricey when you get into the thousands of subscribers.

Pros

Getresponse's website is simple yet catchy. I do love the built-in responsive template, you may never need to create a custom template for your emails. If you are moving from one email marketing site, you can easily import your existing lists.
You will get value for money if you are starting up and need quality not quantity

Cons

The pricing structure is a bite confusing and not user friendly, the free trial is also waste of time. Also your list grows, so does subscription price with a high margin. Getresponse is not perfect for newbies.

Getresponse is priced adequately for someone starting a business or someone that is going into internet marketing or affiliate marketing.

Cons

Not as advanced as some of the ninja tools out there but in most cases you will find that it is more than sufficient for what you are trying to do. They have a free trial so use that.
The templates could be improved and added to.

Horrible Customer Service

After being highly recommended, I decided to give their 30-day free trial a shot to see if it would work before committing to spend the money on a subscription. Immediately upon registering, my account was blocked and it said I needed to upload a picture of a government issued ID before I could use their software. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, though I did find it a bit strange and the person who recommended the service said they had never heard of this request, however; my drivers license went missing the week prior and I only have a Temp ID. My DL is going to take 4-6 weeks to arrive. I contacted the Live Chat Customer Service and was told they are not allowed to help in these cases and referred me to the Compliance Dept. I reached out to compliance explaining the situation and uploaded my Temp ID for verification. After several emails, I never got a response from an actually person addressing my specific issue, only automated, scripted responses, the last of which stated if I did not upload proper documentation in 3 days, my account would be closed. The list of reasons this verification could be required all referred to some type of complaint or misuse of the service. However, I never had an opportunity to do anything in their software. I don't have 4-6 weeks to wait to get my email service up and running. At this point, their lack of personal connection or willingness to work with me leaves me no option other than to go with one of their competitors.

Pros

I was never allowed to use it, so there is nothing I liked about it.

Cons

There was no personal connection when I had an issue. I was sent several automated responses indicating an actual person never read the information I provided.

Waste of time every week

I migrated to this software, so it can be easy to manage. Wrong decision.

Pros

Easy to buy. But this is the only advantage I noticed and not really unique.

Cons

- web editor destroys your content every time, You must be extremely careful - I am wasting hours to prepare newsletters
- import is constantly rejected. There are adresses blocked to add even if I have use permission on paper
- database import - if You have some adresses invalid, the whole import is rejected with no error code. Helpline redirects Your complain to misterious AUDIT DEPARTMENT and You loose every import 2-3 days to identify the reason
- overall suport - they cannot help You in anything. If You have issues with their software You must live with it

They're a constant disappointment

They were a great company and a great service. They still are somehow. I believe the vision of this company is still great. But the execution is poor, to be honest. The reason I talk about them as a company is that your email marketing provider is SO CLOSE AND PERSONAL with your business, once you know how to use it and make it your primary way of generating sales. It's becomes crucial to be able to rely on them. I hope they get better.

Pros

Good value for money. Good ideas from management (I suppose), good choice of features.

Cons

- Poor execution of new features

- Poor user interface

- VERY POOR transitions between versions of the platform: features break, processes you build might break as well

- Poor coding and testing: if you use it professionally, you know that you can't rely on it. (ex: draft emails break, email templates break, fonts break, text size break, etc... they work at first then break for some reason)

- VERY BAD when it comes to RESPONSIVE emails.

- HORRIBLE customer service: they're all NON-Native English Speakers and don't understand what you tell them - unless it's a SUPER BEGINNER question. They just don't get it. They assume every customer they have is a newbie or a grandma who has never sent any newsletter. It's very frustrating.

- And... unclear fees when it comes to upgrading/downgrading your account. It's a game of chess to understand WHY you're getting charged some amount to upgrade.

The best thing about this software is the ease of use. Even for those who are not very experienced, they have the possibility to use a good professional software for sending emails

Cons

When using these types of software at a more professional level, I believe it is essential to have detailed analyzes possibly on a single page of a contact's activity. Instead on this software, many data must be recovered from different points and in some cases are completely missing. Basically we send emails to customers and what we want to know for each customer is what and when we sent an email, such as (newsletter, autoresponder ...) of these were opened and linked. Everything should be available in the contact panel. At the moment instead I find only the emails that have been opened and for I am forced to go to find the other data "around" for the software.
Also, some features are not as intuitive. Why can not I select contacts from a list and bring them all on the same day as the autoresponder with a simple click? To do this I have to select the contacts move them to the same starting list (??) and assign them one day to the autoresponder. Cases like these there are many.
Statistical issue. When I want to see who has opened or who has not opened a specific mail from the statistics I have very few possibilities to use these two lists directly from the statistics section.

The newsletter is easy to format once I can get to it.

This is one of the least user-friendly websites I have ever encountered. I can't believe how long it takes me to find what I need and make it work. I can't make changes without way too much time and stress. The emails are going out with my personal address at the bottom and I can find no way to fix it. It took me two hours to figure out how to actually access a draft of my last newsletter so I could use it as a template.

Disappointed by GetResponse

The CRM helped us track leads that were falling through cracks, but we have found other solutions outside GetResponse.

- To add test addresses for campaigns, you must add them as a sender address to the account. Fortunately, I work for a small company, but for a large company, this is insane.
- You cannot use your email address to as a log in to any other account - even if that account has been removed. I had created a demo in my work email address, then my boss created the account once we approved it, but then I had to use a different email address since I had already created a demo account. What a headache.
- Trying to decipher between total clicks & unique clicks is very difficult. You are not able to see how many times a contact clicked on a link.
- They don't allow you to see how has bounced, and they make it difficult to pull your suppression list, citing GDPR compliance. They are the data processor, not the data controller, and should allow people to export their suppressions in order to make sure they are in line with GDPR and CAN-SPAM laws.
- The campaign editor has no html button for specific elements. You are only able to see the HTML for the entire campaign.

Disappointed after 10 years as a customer

Great to begin with - 10 years ago - way better than the competition . Now an absolute shambles - only interested in getting new business - apparently no interest in looking after existing and loyal customers

Really not a lot now - I really cant think of any pro at all

Autoresponders not working properly, Stats not working properly, Unable to remove unopens accurately, Servers slow, and above all the customer support is now totally useless
