Impressive free plan
Overall, I'm satisfied with Hootsuite and will continue to use this platform to manage my social media accounts. With the ability to schedule up to 30 posts on the free plan, including scheduling Instagram posts, and viewing different social media accounts all on one dashboard, it beats other social media management platforms that require plan upgrades to access similar features.
PROSAs someone who uses Hootsuite's "Free" plan, I'm incredibly impressed by what Hootsuite offers in the plan. My favorite tool on Hootsuite is the "Streams." I can sort scheduled posts, past posts, mentions, and followers' posts by social media platform using "Streams" on my dashboard. This allows me to see responses or comments on my posts and engage with followers, without having to visit several social media sites. With the free version, I can also schedule more posts on social media than other social media management programs, and the free plan allows me to schedule posts on my business Instagram account.
CONS"Free plan" users who are needing advanced features beyond basic analytics will need to upgrade and if they shorten links using TinyUrl or Bitly, there isn't a meaningful way to track engagement in the program. Also, users need to be aware that the connections between Hootsuite and social media networks frequently drop, and that the program's connection with Instagram is frequently buggy.
Reasons for switching to Hootsuite
I made the switch from Buffer because Buffer's free plan only allowed me to schedule 10 posts at a time.

It's Easy and Good
As the number of social media users grows, Hootsuite has become an indispensable part of business operations. It integrates with tens of social networks and has a 30-day free trial. It is easy to use and affordable. With millions of users, it's easy to see why Hootsuite has millions of users. It's no wonder, then, that it's the number one social media management tool for small businesses.
PROSHootsuite is a social media management tool with millions of users. It has the advantage of allowing you to view up to five social networks simultaneously, and its easy to use interface lets you easily flick between different social media profiles, campaigns, and customers. However, it does have some limitations.
CONSThough its scheduling capabilities are basic, it does have some useful features. Like its ability to monitor key terms and hashtags, Hootsuite helps you grow your social media presence. Some features are limited, like the inability to bulk-schedule via import. If you're looking for a more advanced solution for your social media marketing strategy, Hootsuite may not be right for you.
Reason for choosing Hootsuite
If you're on the go, a social media management app such as Hootsuite can be an invaluable tool. This program can centralize your social media profiles and messages so you can manage them all in one place. You can reply to messages, see analytics, and collaborate with team members without leaving the app. Hootsuite also lets you view multiple social networks at once and schedule posts to each.

Great for Social Media Monitoring But Better Products Out There for Scheduling and Organizing
Great for social media monitoring but better options out there for scheduling and content management
PROSThe software is great for monitoring your social media presence. The feeds you can set up for mentions and comments are great and easy to use. The dashboard is designed very well and easy at a glance to view your feeds. Reporting is also very good. The Hootsuite school is also a great resource. They have great training available.
CONSAs good as it is for social media monitoring it lacks for scheduling and organizing your content library. Scheduling is clunky and the display is not great. Not easy to schedule across multiple accounts at the same time. The content library doesn't really exist either. Hey Orca blows them out of the water off ease to make posts and organize your assets.

Hootsuite made Social media useable for us
We’ve been really happy with Hootsuite. It’s shortened the time we have to spend on social media and made the time we do spend on it much more streamlined.
PROSWe only use social media because Hootsuite allows us to manage all the different platforms at once. Otherwise we would only use 2 platform or spend a lot more time on it.
CONSI’d really like to have a little more automation options. It’s taken a while to get used to everything but now we’re really happy.
Reason for choosing Hootsuite
Ease of use, price, high recommendations from others.
Reasons for switching to Hootsuite
It was less of a switch and more of testing lots of different programs and Hootsuite has been the most efficient and easy to use for us.

Was ok for free but to expensive now
Integration of Canva. The onboarding was really good and they offer a lot of great articles to brush up on Social Media knowledge and the latest trends and functionalities. If you are willing to spend two days going through their blog posts, you can virtually get a very good understanding of social media managament.
CONSNo free plan anymore, which made it too expensive for freelance use for one Social Media account only. No integration of LinkedIn, that's why I moved to Later. The user interface was also quite convoluted to use, not as easy and intuitive as other platforms. The analytics didn't really show as much insight as I gained from other platforms.A lot of work has to be done off the platform (keywords, analytics etc.)

Good for scheduling posts
I majorly use hootsuite to schedule my LinkedIn posts. Also I have used it to post on Twitter and Instagram. My experience has been great. The editor shows the preview of the post which prevents me from going to Linkedin and seeing how the post appears
CONSThere is no option to post carrousel posts. This is very bad as hootsuite is a professional software and should add the option

CONSpeople may have different opinions on what they dont like about hootsuite, however some answers could be that its expensive, can be overwhelming for beginners or that its not as customizable as some other platforms,

A Good Option for Social Publishing and Monitoring
At my previous job I was using Hootsuite to start my day. I would sign on and schedule and publish posts for the duration of the day, or over the weekend or what have you. More recently, I've been using Hootsuite's free version to manage my personal online presence, scheduling posts related to my podcast or video channels. I find that more recently, the native Twitter app has been better for just scrolling through Twitter, but as far as posting goes, I prefer to use Hootsuite.
PROSOne of my favorite things about Hootsuite is the ability to 'autoschedule' posts based on the time that you're likely to receive the most engagement. This takes a lot of the guesswork out of the job of a social media manager, as you can tend to labor over the details like whether or not something is emergent enough to post right now or whether you should wait to schedule it in the future. I find Hootsuite's customizable streams can be helpful in mitigating a lot of the noise that comes along with social media, but constant algoritm and UI updates to platforms like Twitter can make streams obsolete quickly. The platform is super simple to get set up and running with, and the free version (which I'm currently using for my personal accounts/projects) is perfectly serviceable for teams with 3 social accounts or fewer. I've never had to reach out to support, but Hootsuite's online presence is great and they're constantly providing materials that are helpful to social media managers.
CONSI find their integration with Instagram somewhat lacking. During my time with Hootsuite, I have scheduled countless Instagram posts, but the way the marriage between Instagram and Hootsuite Works means that you can schedule the post, but you need to open the app on your phone and hit send when the time comes to actually publish your post. I have missed so many Instagram posts because of this, and the fact that I only appear to get a notification when It's time to post on Instagram about half the time. I realize that this isn't necessarily all Hootsuite's fault, but this is a real downer, and leaves me wishing that the integration was better
Reason for choosing Hootsuite
Pricing for the most part. At the time, HubSpot was still charging for every level of their services. Once I started using it, the autoscheduling feature became too important to me to consider switching. As long as Hootsuite allows me to manage my 3 accounts for free, I'll continue to use their services.

A Great Tool For Social Scheduling - But Others Offer More For Less
Overall the product has served us well; we're still using it daily and are able to plan campaigns around our scheduling abilities, we're able to connect directly with our customers and assigned potential customer service issues within our team with a few clicks. Over time however, social platforms are getting savvy to the needs of businesses are starting to build out their own business tools and scheduling/performance analytics hubs (Facebook Business and Twitter for Business for one). It remains to be seen how Hootsuite will compete with free as the platforms begin to grow this part of their businesses.
PROSSocial Post Scheduling is the raison d'etre for Hootsuite and it does it effectively and with lots of options including custom tagging for your analytics platform. If you're only interested in being able to schedule and post to multiple social media channels, this is the first place to look.
CONSThe pricing and tiers no longer make sense as many of their competitors are offering similar/better scheduling and posting options at a lower price (or free with limitations). In 2022, Instagram post scheduling shouldn't be an exclusive feature.
Reason for choosing Hootsuite
At the time, Hootsuite provided better analytics tools than were available to any of their direct competitors.

Getting Better with Time
Overall, Hootsuite provides a single place to monitor multiple social media platforms, create branded and consistent marketing campaigns, schedule content in advance with easy oversight, and get insights into content performance.
PROSHootsuite is a great way to set up a multi channel dashboard to have greater oversight of your social media channels. I appreciate that it covers all the major platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
CONSAt this point in time, users can't directly publish content to the Facebook and Instagram stories, which are major marketing tools. Where as you can pre schedule traditional posts, it's not an option for stories.
Reason for choosing Hootsuite
Hootsuite seemed to combine all our organizational needs as it pertains to platform management, content scheduling, and analytics in a way that was easier to use than the alternatives.
Reasons for switching to Hootsuite
As a professional, I liked the look and interface of Hootsuite better than CoSchedule. I thought it was easier to use and had better control over multiple tools.
