With free software, you often get MUCH MORE than what you pay for!
Email lies at the heart of our business -- customer support and customer contact is critical to our survival. This is not something that can be relegated to a Web UI or just any old client interface. Thunderbird provides small organizations (like ours) a free Email client that is full-featured, fast, and efficient. I can't imagine trying to use anything else!
PROSThe Thunderbird Email client provides a fast and easy way to corral multiple Email addresses. With support for POP3 mailboxes, you can pull your data off the Email server and retain/manage it all locally, which is great when you have to travel and may not always have access to the Email server, or for when you want the extra security of getting the data off of the Internet quickly. With IMAP support, you can enable access to a shared Email queue, allowing multiple employees to see and respond to the inbound messages -- ideal for a customer-facing "Sales" or "Support" queue -- and every user can see and search on every reply. All local messages and attachments are stored in a local profile folder, which can be easily moved to a NAS, allowing you to access the Email profile from any machine on the network. You can also synchronize your profile to your laptop so that all of your Email can travel with you into the field, even while disconnected. Add in the intuitive user interface, multiple-calendar features, a solid address book function, and you have an Email client that is hard to beat. Since it's free to use, this makes it even better!
CONSLike with any software solution that you've used for 10+ years, the product does evolve, and they change the UI from time to time. These "improvements" may be beneficial to most users, but moving things around in the UI can slow you down, and the changes can sometimes break automation scripts that rely on specific sequences of keystrokes. Luckily, these occur only about every 2 years or so. Another issue I have is with the built-in calendar. Sometimes it captures an Event from an EMail with an ICS attachment -- and sometimes it doesn't. Apparently, Microsoft Teams doesn't send properly-formatted messages, so this is most often broken, but you can always work around it through manual data entry.
Reason for choosing Thunderbird
I didn't want to be tied to another Microsoft solution, with a back-end Exchange Server needing to be configured in my office. (Yes, this was back in the CompuServe days, so running Exchange in the cloud wasn't an option back then, and it required a Windows Server.)
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
I first switched to make my Email easier to manage. As we transitioned to a new SMTP Email server in my office, Thunderbird made the migration quite easily. Later, as we moved to a cloud-based Email server, it expanded with us and handled that expansion as well. Now, everyone in our organization uses Thunderbird to manage both personal and business accounts.

Thunderbird is the ONLY email software you need.
Thunderbird handles multiple email accounts. There is even a chat feature. It sorts my email. It removes the Spam and Junk correctly. It archives and stores my past emails and keeps them where they can be searched and accessed at any time. A life saver finding old emails once again!
PROSThunderbird is so easy to setup. Also if there is an option you want included such as a calendar or todo list or whatever, it integrates easily with add-ons and tools. There is nothing missing when it comes to this power tool!
CONSThe software has never let me down. There is nothing to say about "like least". It works. It is easy to learn. And use it every day. And have for YEARS.
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
The programs I was using before, would not load on some days. They didn't have all the features that I could setup and wanted. Thunderbird has it all. Loved it from the first day I set it up.

Managing my time how to respond for your visiting mails
Thanks for this innovative mailbox helping me benefit my time for more time at home. Please do keep working for this best service.
PROSI use this simple art of sending emails attaching previous workspace references filtering how to respond to their immediate concerns. Thunderbird can classify these contact reports with much ease. This has helped many friends to get actual information with a simple inbox management.
CONSI love adding more rules if less time can explore the most needed response. This plans how I can manage my business anywhere with this free software. This innovation always saves more cost if patches are introduced regularly for advanced users.
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
Thunderbird is used at my home because it is secure and free-of-cost.

I would be lost with Thunderbird. Just to have all email accounts in one tool, without the weird look of web based clients is so much better for me.

CONSNothing really. It has all the features I need and comes with good add-ons.
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
I just find Thunderbird so much better and easier to access then Gmail or other web-based clients.

Thunderbird for Mac OS Provides an Affordable Email Solution
I am generally satisfied with Thunderbird and have been using it now for 4-5 years. It provides an affordable solution that is relatively easy to use. It doesn't always integrate well with Microsoft SSO email, but that is mostly due to the inflexibility of the IT decision-makers on the other end.
PROSHaving a free email client is essential for our small startup.
CONSEvent notifications popup and often do not close when I click dismiss or prompt me to update the event. This mostly occurs if I am responding to the prompt after the event as opposed to before.
Reason for choosing Thunderbird
I don't recall. The various forums recommended Thunderbird, as I recall.
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
Apple Mail had some limitations and I decided to go with the open source solution.

An open source great email client
I've been a Thunderbird user from so many years, I trid some other software for the purpose of experiment and comparison, but I've always switched back to it.
PROSThunderbird is full of features, customizable with addons and themeable. It has all the features you'd expect from a mail client, much better than some other commercial softwares: advanced search and filters, archiving, automatic message filtering, OpenPGP keys management, grouping by conversation, calendar with alerts, and many others.
CONSAt the moment of writing, you can not order your accounts in the sidebar unless you install one of the dedicated addons.

Robust email client.
One of the most well rounded email clients and beats Outlook by a mile and then some!
PROSOpen source, Mozilla-made, feature rich. What's not to like! I used Mozila Thunderbird for a good 7 years before moving to Protonmail. Too many features to love to list. Ability to integrate with Protonmail is a plus as well.
CONSThe fact that this is a local client. Iwas needing cloud access to mails and my webmail was not cutting it. Also, setting up encryption was a bit tedious. Hence, had to move to Protonmail.

Finally found my Windows Email Client!
I was delighted to start using this app when a coworker recommended it to me because I'd been trying to find something that was not so spartan like a lot of Windows programs and apps are. This is a little different but with that Windows goodie, which is FEATURES! This client comes loaded with features, you'll need to spend an hour or so finding out all the good things Thunderbird brings to the table. You will definitely find something you need or those 'very nice to have' additions also. Coming from a Mac I was blown away at the richness of things you can actually have in an Email client. Thunderbird has given me A LOT to look forward to and I have adopted it in my business as well. Honestly, this is not a biased opinion, this is a real opinion. It's the best free email client out there, hands down! I truly recommend it!
PROSIf I could define in two words all the pros of this software, it's FEATURE RICH!- a lot of features tech savvy folks will bathe in;- efficient client;- nice interface;- calendar built in (very well thought out);- tabs for better viewing;- mail and calendar pane in one single view;- great extensions for the app
CONSThe only con I found with this fantastic app is that although you can change its interface via extensions, a more refined user interface could do this app some good! But it's not bad at all.RAM memory is another con that I'd point out. In my usage, it's pretty heavy and my PC took a little hit there.
Reasons for switching to Thunderbird
I was in search of a better all around email client. Windows Mail was not what I needed.

Good free email management software
Thunderbird is totally free as it's developed by Mozilla, so you won't pay any subscription fees. You can manage multiple email inboxes from one interface and open each email in a separate tab within the software interface.
CONSI think they should develop the right to left (RTL) editing function to be fully compatible with RTL Languages, when I write a message in Arabic I notice that dots at the end of phrases are reversed and moved to the beginning, the Arabic phrases are also messed up when writing English word within them.
