Ambra Health software


Ambra Health is a cloud-based medical imaging platform for medical practices of all sizes including hospitals, medical groups, radiology practices and contract research organizations. It offers a cloud-based PACS and VNA enabling the transferring of medical imaging between multiple locations and EMR/EHR systems.

Ambra Health offers clinicians cloud-based storage for various types of medical imaging files. Imaging can be uploaded directly from separate EHR systems, and ad hoc transfers are also possible. Patients can upload prior imaging from home using a patient portal. A portal for referring physicians allows users to receive a patient’s images before they are admitted.

Ambra can also facilitate image transfer between practices in trauma situations, for second opinion collaboration and referrals. Frequent high-volume image exchanges can be facilitated via point-to-point connections to transfer from DICOM modalities and PACS, as well as RIS via HL7.

Monthly and annual billing plans are available.

    This software is great for loading imaging files. You are able to create different sections in order to keep everything organized and the customer services is very responsive and helpful.

    Cons

    Sometimes files can be difficult to upload, especially if it is a large file. However, Ambra Health is very responsive in helping with uploads and have its own downloader in order to address the issue of large files.

    I am not very good with computers, Ambra health transfer of images system is really easy to learn.

    Pros

    That it is user friendly. I also like that right on the main log in screen you have your training video that is very helpful.

    Cons

    I like least is that there are two ways to access your files.I like one way that way you know and do not have to figure out which way works best for your computer.

    I have a lot of problems with Ambra but a lot of that could be due to the poor internet connection I am stuck with. However, I will say that their customer support is excellent and very responsive!!

    Pros

    I like Ambra because it gets the job done, I am able to download imaging to upload to outside vendors.

    Cons

    I feel it could be more user friendly. It is difficult to train new people how to use it because the pathway to get what you want does not make much sense.

    Good. Ambra support has been able to resolve our issues quickly. However, Ambra has quietly removed a 3D view option from our DICOM Grid.

    Pros

    Simple to navigation and use. Uploading, editing, and viewing studies are very simple.

    Cons

    Limit on listing large number of studies. When our studies exceed the limit, not study is display in our list. We had to call customer support twice in the past year to have the limit increased.

    The interface is simple and modern, the layout of buttons and overall looks of the user interface is great.

    Cons

    Loading images and changing quality from SD to diagnostic had been an on going issue for our users, sometimes it takes a little bit too much time to clear the image into a diagnostic quality.

    Also new users or external user who we share images with are not aware of the quality function and they think the image quality is bad, might be helpful to have a status indicator that the images are still loading and are not in a full diagnostic quality.

    The other issue is when changing the window level is the change from diagnostic quality to SD which is very annoying as it is hard to tell what is the optimal window level to stop at.

    Adding an option to export image into JPG or other simple format is important, the current way of exporting into PNG isn't very useful as you have to do one by one image plus you will have manually go to save each image.

    The more I use it, the easier it becomes to understand. My overall experience is positive.

    Pros

    It's a great platform from an upload poit of view.

    Pros

    It's easy and intuitive
    the support is very responsive, great people to talk to.

    Cons

    We had some periods that the upload would take like an hour and sometimes without a finality, giving an error message at the end of the upload.
    The support team worked through it and resolved the issues.

    I only use this software when dealing with study patients. I have not had any problems when sending information to Ambra Health

    so far it was good , 1st i was trying to use with modzella m and gave me error with uploading images, and with internet explorer also some time, but it work good with google chrome, no issues so far.

    I liked Ambra's customer service, and their willingness to set up shared screen sessions upon short notice. These were incredibly useful to assist research sites in their uploads, and troubleshoot issues that I would not have been able to identify otherwise.

    Cons

    I feel like it could be easier for users/more user friendly- some of the research sites consistently had issues during upload. Maybe an instructional video?

    Calling the Ambra support number only connected you to surface-level assistance, while more of the issues that I experienced needed to be addressed by Ambra analysts.
