## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.4/5
- Total reviews: 455

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.1/5
- Customer support: 4.2/5
- Value for money: 4.1/5
- Functionality: 4.4/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 270 reviews (59%)
- 4 stars: 132 reviews (29%)
- 3 stars: 34 reviews (7%)
- 2 stars: 7 reviews (2%)
- 1 star: 12 reviews (3%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It brings together patient records, scheduling, billing, and communication in one place, which really streamlines workflows and reduces the need for multiple systems.
- I like that the system allows home care documentation just by typing in the necessary menus and it is also possible to add information to them by writing your own text.
- Adding patient’s family medical history is the simplest I’ve ever seen in an online platform, which means patients are more likely to fully fill out the data.

### Most mentioned cons

- Epic is one of the more expensive EHR solutions on the market, and for smaller practices, the licensing and implementation fees can be a significant financial burden.
- My least favorite thing is all of the updates we constantly get on EPIC, the updates are worse in my opinion.
- Epic was not very friendly when it comes to searching patient information, you have to give multiple identifiers to search for a patient.

#### Reasons for switching to Epic

Company made the switch merging with a large hospital group.

### Harder to learn but full of useful features

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Shannon P.
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Hospital & Health Care
- Company size: 201-500 employees
- Product usage: Used daily for less than 2 years
- Reviewed: October 2022
- Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The integration of medical records from outside facilities that use the same software is the best part about epic. Patients many times go to other facilities and typically don’t bring those records with them. Being able to view outside labs, notes, and results at the click of a button is life saving.

#### Cons

Sometimes there are too many features. If there was a way to “opt out” of certain features it would help to declutter and focus.

### EPIC - with one-stop tactics

- Overall rating: 4/5

- Verified reviewer: Yes

It enables multi-professional team operations and information sharing can be done in real time and you don't have to use just one program. You can send a message to a colleague, call a customer and not have to type in a number - the program itself enables the smooth operation of apps on your phone. All essential information is carried safely and reliably and you don't have to use just one application at work.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like that the system allows home care documentation just by typing in the necessary menus and it is also possible to add information to them by writing your own text. I don't know what the problem is when sometimes the menu covers the text field, so you can't see what to write in the text field and it's made it difficult to correct typos. I can't say if this is a general problem or just a bug in our system. I recommend that new employees be trained in the use of the system so that the nursing work itself runs on schedule, according to plan, so that practical nursing work runs smoothly and time is not wasted "fighting with the system". For the new user, retrieving information, recording information and multi-professional cooperation would run smoothly in a way that does not cause additional inconvenience to the client and nursing work can be done naturally, reliably and with professional skills, and the client would not have the impression that the nursing staff is not communicating, things are not progressing and the client can trust the person caring for them.

#### Cons

too many menus, finding the right information can be difficult, logging takes longer when you can't find a suitable option in the menus, and searching for a single item (the menu) is tedious and time-consuming. It would be good if there was a more structured logging form made specifically for our use.

#### Reasons for switching to Epic

Minulla ei ollut päätösvaltaa asiaan. Suuri yritys ja päätöksenteko kuuluu johtoryhmälle.

Wonderful experience for me, no steep learning curve. The first time i was using this was at a hospital in 2021, and it depends really on how tech savvy one is, joined by proper training.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Support across all platforms/departments & B2B is seamless. There is a ease of access for providers, making it easier to access patient records. Also within itself is a broad communication platform, which helps minimize overusing hospital resources such as a doubled order testing procedure for a patient.

#### Cons

Without proper training, Epic systems provide a steep learning curve not familiar with the technology. This includes features such as customizations, training modules, security features (often locked down by your supervisor) & other simple tasks.
