Eye Cloud Pro has been listening and responding to consumer feedback and industry overall requirements. I like that the system keeps a confirmation that prescriptions were released to patients. Even though I don't use some of the features that are newly available (two way texting) I see that it is available because others have requested it so I feel like the company is responsive. For a non-niche optometry office that sees mostly glasses, contact lenses, and medical office visits the charts are clean without a lot of cluttering of every single possible test. Of course there is an empty special testing section that you can add your own notes. IOP is charted in a graph so you can see trend without flipping back to previous visits. You can even email the patient their prescription and it records that this was done. The best is that it is easy for staff to learn to use because it is intuitive. Reports are many and detailed. Like being able to track number of patients seen and for what procedure, number of frames sold and which brands/manufacuturers, what percentage of patients are attribute to which third parties, production broken down by staff/doctor. #### Cons It would be nice to have it integrated with VSP billing and glasses order entry since we use VSP so much, would reduce having to double entry and reduce input errors. Would also like to integrate the EOBs when VSP comes in so we can post to each item. Currently since we do this manually we only separate services and bulk materials. We could do it manually but not worth the time to do it manually. Reports are many and detailed but would like one that gives the true net since so much is written off due to third party. #### Reasons for choosing Eye Cloud Pro Smaller company was easy to get ahold of/and speak with representatives. They purchased Practice Director so I felt like they would understand handling migration. The system looked simpler to use and navigate than others even knowing that it did not integrate with VSP. No incentive was offered Generally, the EHR is relatively easy once it's set up. This is the only patient management system we have used though, so I have nothing to compare. I know I did prefer to file insurance claims directly to the companies (via their portal) if possible, to save money and effort. The problem the unspoken stuff. You have to use their processing service (at the time it was called FullSteam) because "it's integrated." If you do not use this service (we don't run cards on the computer, we have an exterior machine), it's $200/mo which is crazy scammy. Also, when the doctor retired, we went through MONTHS of effort just trying to cancel. They first told me they couldn't cancel b/c I put my name on the form. Then they told me they couldn't take the 2nd one b/c they had heard the doctor had died, and so now they have to see a transfer of ownership. That's right folks. If your doctor dies, they will MAKE you send in a transfer of ownership, so they can redraft an agreement with the new owner, JUST to "offboard." We aren't even paying for the information to be retained because the office is CLOSING! I found that filing insurance directly through insurance websites was easier than trying to deal with their complicated filing system and trizetto. #### Cons The setup for the program is QUITE involved, and takes a lot of time. Contact lenses are not up to date and need to be entered by the office manually. 3. Contact lens parameters are not input into the system. But this is not all, if business ethics and transparency are core values for you, do not ever acquire any product from Eye Cloud Pro. Starting in July of 2024, Eye Cloud Pro forced all their clients to switch from their current Merchant Services to the Eye Cloud Payment Integrated System or they will charge them a $200.00 monthly penalty on the top of the price of their monthly service. This is known as a Tie-In-Sales, a harmful conduct, illegal, against the law way to do business. Our practice subscribed to Eye Cloud Pro Optical Software solution and now has been FORCED TO ACQUIRE THEIR PAYMENT INTEGRATED SERVICES. We have consistently declined to add Eye Cloud Pro Payment Integrated Services, and we have been penalized with a $200.00 monthly fee, which represent a 57% penalty for not switching to their new payment services. Not only that, but if you cancel your services with them, THEY WILL CHARGE YOUR PRACTICE A FEE OF $150.00 PER HOUR TO DOWNLOAD A PDF FORM OF YOUR PATIENT EXAMS, meaning that if you have an extensive portfolio of clients, it may take several hours, which multiplied by $150.00 will represent a significant harm to your finances. All reports available lack completeness, structure and accuracy. Their support is even worst, you can never reach anyone by phone. In fact, you will have to let you name and phone number and they will return your call a few days later, if they return. If you inquire about the product, their team will say that you can customize the reports, but when you call to get information on how to customize your reports, their support (which is actually a representative and not an IT person) tells you that you can't actually make any changes to "that specific" report, which ends up applying to every report! Non comprehensive reports result in much extensive work to cross information/data from multiple reports to gather a quality set of information needed for an accurate analysis. That's exactly what happens with Eye Cloud Pro reports. But gradually support is pathetic and the monthly subscription cost has gone up so much. Always a long wait(45 min to 1.25hrs) of wait to get to someone. And if they don't have a answer to a query they just send a link for a tutorial. Totally not caring for the specific question, and No follow up ever. I shifted my entire database to EYE CLOUD PRO and now feels stuck with them. The tipoff was recently, when the separated previously signed up monthly subscription into 2 parts. I was fine with the origianl setup. Without my concent they started charging the CC on file, failing to notify us about the changes coming. Now I will lose my communication with the patient, if I do not opt for 2nd set of software, which is extracted from my original signup package. I was fine with the previous subscription, I don't need the new update! But upon talking to them after a long wait of over an hour, No explanation were offered, rather a straight anwser that I can drop off the New Automatically enrolled 2nd subscription - But I will lose texting to my patients. Upon embracing that I am now stuck with them, I requested for the updated New Version(2nd Subscription) carries, and the rep again pointed out to the website. Now question arises, Why would I review the whole website of theirs, when I only want to know the updates now new(2nd) package offers! Requested to talk to the supervisor, No one came on the phone and 3 days, later I get a straight email(don't know if it was the supervisor) writing 2 lines, that I have the Best rate for subscription. I am looking for solution and answers of the updated items to the package. Now its been 5 days, and there is No reply via email or phone call. I think If they don't want to retain the accounts, I will explore other options. Patient scheduling is straightforward on the practice side, and inventory management and reporting are fairly intuitive. The core functionality works well for the day-to-day needs of an optical practice. #### Cons My biggest concern is the increasing cost and lack of transparency around pricing. Features are added that we neither requested nor necessarily need, sometimes with additional monthly charges unless you proactively opt out. I believe customers should have to opt in to paid features rather than being automatically enrolled unless they respond to an email. In one instance, we were charged an additional $75 for a feature we didn't request or use, and despite raising the issue, we were not offered a credit. There is also very limited flexibility to customize packages or pay only for the features your practice actually needs. The patient-facing online scheduling interface feels outdated and could benefit from a more modern, customizable design. Our office does not have a doctor and ECP is a simple, easy to use program for records and ordering. #### Cons some reports aren't as concise and easy to find as I'd like.
