There were many irrelevant functions and a lot of redundant clicking. We switched to HENO because we wanted the billing service and a robust system. While it is a robust system, we had a few issues that made it difficult to use at times. We had a decent amount of trouble with the billing service. For example, they would call one of our payers and just take the standard answer they got instead of investigating whether what the rep said was actually true. No incentive was offered I’ve had 2 case managers in 35 years with OTHER EMR n billing services and and a 24 hour turnaround with ALL communications. WITH HENO, In less than 2 years I’ve had 2 case managers and lucky to get a response in a week. Bullys!! I chose Heno because their ‘promised’ services and they located were in Florida where my business was located. Initially very nice n likable, then the ‘honey is over’ with changes in services n no notification. Over the last year, my case manager had decreased her hours and moved to AZ with no notification. The communication turn around went from 3 day average to over a week. Be forewarned of HENO’s bait n switch tactics. Also be aware that you are dealing with software engineer owners. I hear a lot of complaints from people using other EMR systems who have to wait days or weeks for a customer support reply. With Heno, you can call or send in a ticket and they pick up the phone immediately or respond within the hour to the ticket. I find the support people amazing and they really care about resolving your question/issue. The system itself is also amazing. Writing notes is super quick and simple and the built-in HEP is awesome and time-saving. They are constantly adding new features too. They recently added the ability to track time in/time out on notes for specific payers (so we don't have todo it on all notes, but just for the one insurance company that requires it). We don't ever have any glitches or time when the system is down. We use it from patient initial contact, to scheduling, to therapy notes and billing, to superbills. Excellent. I have been a therapist for 39 years and have been on paper charts. So to change this late in the game was scary. I was fairly convinced it would be painful but I liked the team right away and they really delivered for our clinic and I am seeing better reimbursement because the software is very organized and there are less errors and our biller is on top of any problem. It takes time to learn the system but it is very comprehensive. The onboarding is excellent. The support is there. They guide you through the learning process . I went live with this software on June 1st. I thought it might take several months before I strarted seeing the money coming into my account. I started getting money in my account within the first month and was full speed by the second month. Our biller is excellent and always answers our questions within a few minutes to a day. I can sleep at night knowing I have better control over all aspects of my private practice. #### Cons The first few weeks are a learning curve and initially you feel like you are learning a new language because in a sense you are. But it was worth the investment. The onboarding team is very helpful. #### Reasons for choosing HENO I felt that the software was pricey with prompt and although you paid less for the billing I just did not think they would put that much time into the billing. The money was made with the software. Secondly I felt they were gimmicky if that makes sense. Practice Perfect was an inferior product compared to Heno. I was also interested in the metrics and I think HENO is very good for producing charts and graphs. #### Reasons for switching to HENO I never used their emr . I felt it was confusing and time consuming. And I needed to be able to use a lap top in the clinic. That EMR had to be on a computer. So I have been ony using the appointment scheduler and I did paper charts. My clinic was too busy to do the paper charts. I was falling behind and not keeping up with POCs. No incentive was offered Unfortunately I did not have a good experience overall with HENO. I'm sure the EMR works for some people but it wasn't the right fit for our practice. The customer service, specifically their contract policy, is archaic. (and yes, I should have NOT signed the contract, so I will hold that responsiblity) #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 2/5 - Value for money: 3/5 - Customer support: 1/5 - Functionality: 3/5 #### Pros The ability to manage your practice with one software was a huge pro for us, which is why we decided at the time to switch from WebPT to HENO. In some aspects, such as behaving like a CRM, with the ability to set reminders, it did accomplish this task fairly well. #### Cons I worked with my biller for several weeks to try to work out the kinks in the billing software and clearinghouse, to no avail. Customer support was unavailable to work with us on this in a timely fashion, which ended up putting us in a significant cash-flow pinch. Additionally, upon using and attempting to learn HENO, I was underwhelmed by the UI/UX. It was very clunky and much of the language was in engineering-type language, making it more difficult than it needed to be when setting filters, or even figuring out where to upload and store certain documents and documentation. I ended up spending more time documenting than WebPT. I think the worst part about my experience was that we had only used the system for 2 months, were not satisfied with the product, and asked that the contract be voided, only to be met with "sorry you signed a contract." This was a two-year contract that we signed (in retrospect we absolutely should NOT have done this), and had already paid for the transfer of data from WebPT. I did not ask for a refund, only to be let out of the contract, however they held fast, and will not budge. I hate writing reviews like these, however, I believe it to be unreasonable to hold someone in a contract for 2 years after only 2 months have passed. This is a horrible business practice and I hope that the owners consider changing this.
