In use since 2000, Medfusion Patient Portal provides doctors and hospitals with an online patient portal solution that integrates with several electronic health record (EHR) providers. Patients have access to their personal health records, clinical care summaries (CCDs) and prescription renewal/appointment request modules.
Medfusion Patient Portal can also help physicians fulfill the patient engagement portion of Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements, and provides a dashboard to track progress towards attesting for both stages of Meaningful Use.
Medfusion Mobile gives both health care professionals and patients the ability to access the portal via a mobile device. Applications are available for tablets as well as iPhone and Android smartphones, which allows patients to make appointments and message providers via a secure mobile platform.
The system also includes an online bill pay module that can integrate with practice management software. This module handles all of the credit card processing for patient payments and provides daily direct deposits into the practice’s account.

Well, it helped us achieve Meaningful use and now MIPS. It keeps us HIPPA compliant when we need to send clinical information to our patients, it streamlines refill requests (relieving telephone volume).
The Patient portal is an extremely useful tool for the patients, doctors & staff. It has also contributed to us meeting Meaningful Use & now MIPS. Patients can request refills to nurse, ask general questions to staff and more. We can send clinical notes & lab reports automatically or on demand and it is HIPPA compliant . We also use it for sending email blasts to our patients with updates on our practice and even urgent office closure. It works hand & hand with our EMR system. Great tool.
