### Most mentioned pros

- Its integration with Outlook and Microsoft Teams makes it convenient for both in-person and virtual meetings. While the interface and customization options could be more intuitive and flexible, it has been a reliable tool that saves time and improves scheduling efficiency.
- It makes appointment booking easy with a clean interface for both admins and end users, and it syncs well with Outlook calendars to avoid double bookings.
- Another great feature is that you can make special booking links that allow people to book meetings with you and your colleague(s), showing only available slots when all of you are free for a call!

### Most mentioned cons

- The customization features are also somewhat limited compared to some dedicated scheduling platforms, and I've occasionally noticed small syncing delays with calendar updates.
- Bugs and quirks can pop up at times, such as syncing delays or booking pages not behaving as expected.
- The only issue I had with Microsoft Bookings is that it is not great value for money. When compared to similar systems within Outlook or Microsoft calendar it is not required.

Overall, Bookings served its purpose and automated our volunteer sign up process. We created and built in reminders (text and email)for volunteers.before bookings, thus process relied on an administrators remembering to send an email. I am pleased with Bookings and what it offers.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Microsoft bookings is a great tool to use for creating reseevations for internal meetings or operational reservations. Our office has used this to allow for volunteers to sign up for volunteeer opportunities in our office. It allow users to see a page of availabile time slots and they can select the time and sign up. We created this system with our IT team. They walked us through the process. Once shown how to customize and build the volunteer options, it was easy to understand and replicate. I was able to add information about the expectations regarding the volunteer opportunity and send reminders closer to the date.

#### Cons

What I wish was better was more customization on the booking page. The page the volunteers see. Also, the creation of the time slots took some time to understand. I wish it was easier to understand without an in person tutorial.

I was looking for a booking solution for both internal and external meetings that would suite my brand and need. Overall this is a solid solution, but if you want customizations and more importantly, to work with other softwares, you may need to check other alternatives

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

A great solution if you already work (or planning to work) with other microsoft solutions like Teams or Outlook in a cohesive ecosystem. It solves you a great list of headaches! It also comes at a very cheap price point and it's easy to implement with forms and pages.

#### Cons

If you want more customization options for your business or plan to use other products integrate with Microsoft Bookings, that are outside of Microsoft native programs, then you should think about it not twice but thrice.

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Bookings

We needed a more automated and easy to implement product

### Great Tool To Create Bookings At Work Integrated Directly Into Your Office Ecosystem

Overall, Bookings has been a great tool to book meeting to meet with colleagues and clients and is tied to your organization's Office account so that you can have it professionally tied to your organization.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

This tool is tied directly to your company's Office 365 account, so you can easily create a calendar booking site that your colleagues and clients can reserve time to meet. Additionally, a Microsoft Teams link can automatically be generated for virtual meetings. Also, you can create a booking page for yourself or a shared one with colleagues to have multiple people on a team that can be booked to compare times and who works best.

#### Cons

There is no option to connect your booking page with any other video conferencing platforms, which makes you have to use Teams even if it's not the most viable option. Additionally, it would be nice for your page to have a banner or image theme to make it visually appealing.

### Microsoft Bookings is Great for Small Businesses

My overall experience is good! I would recommend this as an option to any small business wishing to find an affordable yet robust option for scheduling appointments.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It's somewhat simple to learn and fairly intuitive. The interface is laid out well and easily navigable. Scheduling is pretty straightforward with the ability to setup individuals within your team. When configured properly it works quite well with Outlook calendars. Cost is reasonable for my business, and payments can be paid out yearly or monthly. I've not had to contact customer support, but using AI tools like CoPilot have helped me figure out most of any issues I've had with it. When properly connected to Outlook, the reminders / notifications via Outlook work perfectly.

#### Cons

I had some trouble connecting it up to my Teams app installed on my computer. It simply would NOT add a calendar event. I also had trouble getting the Online Chat option to work through my website and enabling the Booking option through it. However, upon adding a connector (which took some research) I was able to get the calendar issue resolved. The Booking issue in the Online Chat eventually worked out, but I cannot remember how I fixed it. Lastly, the load times of the scheduling app can be a bit lengthy when embedded on a website.

#### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Bookings

Much cheaper. The cost of TimeTap was way outside of my budget. Plus, with an Office 365 account, I get a LOT more things (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, etc).

### Simple Scheduling Tool That Saves Time but Feels Limited Compared to Dedicated Solutions

- Industry: Information Technology and Services
- Company size: 11-50 employees
- Product usage: Used weekly for less than 12 months
- Reviewed: July 2026
- Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered

Overall, Microsoft Bookings is a reliable and simple scheduling tool that works best for organisations already using Microsoft 365. It’s great for straightforward appointment management and integrates nicely with existing tools, but it can feel limited if you need more advanced features, flexibility, or deeper control over booking workflows.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Microsoft Bookings is a handy and straightforward scheduling tool that works well within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It makes appointment booking easy with a clean interface for both admins and end users, and it syncs well with Outlook calendars to avoid double bookings. Setting up services and availability is fairly quick, and automated reminders via email help reduce no‑shows. For basic scheduling needs, it does the job efficiently and removes a lot of back-and-forth when arranging meetings or appointments. It also benefits from Microsoft’s security and compliance framework, which is useful in business environments.

#### Cons

Customer Support can be limited unless you have a higher-tier Microsoft support plan. There’s a bit of a learning curve when configuring services, staff availability, and policies properly, especially for more complex setups. The feature set is fairly basic compared to dedicated booking platforms, with limited customisation and reporting options. Bugs and quirks can pop up at times, such as syncing delays or booking pages not behaving as expected. Scheduling works well for simple use cases, but struggles with more advanced scenarios like complex resource allocation. Reminder functionality is useful but basic, with limited flexibility or custom workflows.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Booking is great to create reservation pages to book time with other people. Also when you have a service in your organisation it helps book the schedule of a team.

#### Cons

I find booking a little useless since you have the functionality Find Time in Outlook that really simplify booking time and meeting with other colleague. If booking had more options to book rooms from various levels and various locations I think that would make this product even better.

#### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Bookings

I didn't choose Booking, I tried it for a while, but the lack of options of the tool was too great to be helpful. I recently started using Koalendar and find it much better.

Saved us so much time, and back and forth emails. We would not be able to do our seasonal hire without it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Our very small team annually hires over 150 people over the course of a few months. Having the ability for our team to sync their calendars/availability and let interviewees book their own interviews has been a game changer for us. Saves so much time and effort. It auto syncs with Teams so everything is taken care of. And since its built into the Microsoft suite it wasn't a separate program we needed to pay for. Bookings really runs itself once you've set up your parameters, which is so important to us.

#### Cons

As we are using it for interviews, we must have two of our own staff present on the interview. Teams can't book with two of our team without me making a built in team of every pairing. So I do have to manually enter the second interviewer, which is frustrating. This is the only downside we have found with bookings.

#### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Bookings

It was free (within our Micrsoft Suite of products), and did nearly everything we needed. The only feature it couldn't do was easily worked around.

#### Pros

Very easy to implement. Easy to create appointment types and place on our main website. Great flexibility in customer email communications, with reminders of appointments and such.

#### Cons

While it's functional on a basic level, there are many many annoyances that just are unexplainable. First, you can access bookings via the web app, or you can access bookings via a Teams plugin, or use an iOS app The problem is, each method provides you a different set of options when creating the booking. Zero consistency. In order to use bookings, you need to add everyone that uses it to the staff, AND, you have to give them full admin control. If someone gets to create bookings, they can also go in and muck with all of the settings. Horrible! The next access tier down is that they can view bookings, but not create or modify them. That's next to useless, if you ask me. Also, every staff member's calendar now shows up in bookings. If you have a receptionist making bookings, there would be no need for their calendar to show up. In the Teams version of the app, you can remove the useless calendars. On the web version you cannot. But on the Teams version, you only have very rudimentary options for creating a booking, so you need to use the Web app to access it. The home page in the web app is useless. It's got buttons for setting up the first time, but not what you need for day to day stuff isn't there, and there's no apparent way to change it. In the calendar page, you can create bookings. There are boxes for customer notes and internal notes. However, once you put anything in there, the boxes are no longer labeled as to what they are. Horrible design.

As with so many things from Microsoft, this software just falls short of delivering what we need. I operate a consumer bankruptcy practice and I deal with consumers, so text message reminders are a must. The text message reminders in MS Bookings do not work. The texts often give a time 2 to 3 hours after the actual appointment. I have spent quite a bit of time reading about this and changing the time zone settings. I have contacted customer support. They want me to run several tests on how I do things and show them why I am not scheduling the appointments correctly. Another drawback is that there are 0 integrations. MS Bookings does not even integrate with MS Outlook! If your client enters the contact info to book the appointment, wouldn't it be a no brainer that you could them move that over to Outlook? Sure. Can you do it? NO! I am moving to a service that will correctly text out the reminders and cut out entering the contact info multiple times.

#### Cons

Accurate Text message reminders and integrations at least with other MS products.

#### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Bookings

It was free with my Office 365 subscriptions.
