About at the end of my rope

Support was better for a while, but now it’s like they don’t even care. Also they promised their customers that they had 2015 CEHRT, but it is not available for install until March. The deadline was January.

PROS

Great on Health Maintenance. Does a good job of reminding healthcare providers of which services are due.

CONS

The software is way too “clunky.” It takes a million steps to do a simple thing. You have to be experienced with database tables in order to get anything done. Support blames everything on “network problems” so they don’t have to take responsibility.

Been with Practice Partner since 2006. Started out great but now no enhancements at all.

PROS

Very configurable. Colors are great. Easy on the eyes. Love the clinical elements. Love the dot codes being able to send info from your progress note to other sections of the chart via dot codes.

CONS

Reporting. Everything is a work around. It started when McKesson purchased them and has went down hill from there. Now Emds owns them. Customer service is better but there has been no enhancements what so ever.

Practice Partner

I think this used to be a good system for the price. There are so many better options out there.

PROS

Health Maintenance makes it very easy for providers to see what the patient is due for so none of the major healthcare needs are missed. Scheduling is easy, and there is a lot of flexibility in the scheduling. Customer service is friendly and relatively fast.

CONS

Billing tasks take too many steps, almost without exception. You can't correct a claim at the claim level, so if you want to re-send the claim after a rejection, you have to go to each line, unapply any adjustments, and set each individual line to go again. Any reports take forever to run, and the only way to customize reports is to do queries with SQL language. To create a statement file, for example, takes hours, during which time the billing program is unavailable to whomever is creating the file. Also, the system is not intuitive at all. A new user can't just look around and find what he/she is looking for and must receive pretty extensive training.

Works ok for entering office notes. Our billing department has always had difficulty, month end takes 4 to 8 hours to run. Unable to run reports for meaningful use. MACRO is bound to be a nightmare. Portal is ok, but patients cannot schedule appointments or pay. Will be changing this year.

PROS

Easy to type notes.

CONS

outdated

Not so user friendly

I used this at the previous clinic I worked at. It was not the easiest to use but after working with it for a while I got the hang of it.

PROS

It was very detailed on how to look for what you needed.

CONS

It was so detailed that it took a little bit longer to get to where you needed.
