PT Practice Pro is very thorough and easy to work with

PROS

My favorite feature is being able to access multiple accounts as well as having multiple windows open at one time. It is great for a multi-tasker like myself which saves me a lot of time.

CONS

It was a bit hard to learn the features but once you're well trained it is easy to use and support was excellent in helping.

Solution to organization and EMR challenges

The customer services is generally pretty helpful. And the software is pretty adaptable.

PROS

I like the integrated home exercise programs and the ability to document and produce the program with ease.

CONS

I wish there was an easier way to manage special reports from the dashboard. Perhaps see when they have been initiated to prevent oversite.

Practice Pro for speech therapy clinic

Overall, I am very happy with Practice Pro. It manages all necessary operations in one system.

PROS

I like how quick SOAP note documentation and billing is with Practice Pro.

CONS

Patients sometimes complain of difficulty completing the intake forms. Also the online statements ate very confusing, causing patients to have to reach out to ask questions.

Practice Pro is the software our company will use for years to come

Our company's overall experience with Practice Pro has been exceptional. The software has allowed our company to grow. The reporting in Practice Pro has made it easier for us to assess our metrics so that we can make adjustments to our scheduling and outcomes in order to improve our customer satisfaction profitability.

PROS

We have been using Practice Pro software for ten years now. As a member of the team which made the decision to purchase the software, I was extremely pleased with the ease of implementation and transitioning our company to its use. The software is very versatile and adaptable. It is the most user friendly software I have used or administered in my twenty plus years as the Office Manager for a Physical Therapy facility with seven different locations. The support has been exceptional. The team at Practice Pro are continuously developing new features in the software and they are very pro-active in adding features in advance of any regulation changes.

CONS

Probably the only complaint I have received about the software over the years is that there are too many updates to the software which staff need to become oriented to.

Reason for choosing Practice Pro

When we were considering different software programs which could handle scheduling, documentation and billing - all within the same product, we were also looking for a product which would be user friendly, adaptable and one which would be highly supported. At the time, even though Practice Pro met all the criteria, they had not developed their institutional UB-04 electronic claim form so we almost chose another product. We were approached by the development team at Practice Pro asking to give them a week to develop the form, which they did. We have been extremely satisfied customer of Practice Pro ever since!

Reasons for switching to Practice Pro

At the time we were using Raintree for billing which integrated with Therassist software for scheduling and documentation. The process was very cumbersome and there were many issues with the integration. Raintree was not as adaptable - we had to rely on programmers to make most changes. Support was not of the highest level.

Practice Management Super Star

I have been in Practice/Revenue Management for over twenty years. I can honestly say Practice Pro is a top of the line product. The customers suggestions for changes actually become system updates. The scheduling feature offers access at your finger tips via right click or left click! They also have a biller friendly platform that is fully integrated with the EMR allowing me to check notes and correct charges while never leaving my charge entry screen. I have had a great experience using Practice Pro who also provide easily accessible customer support.

PROS

The scheduling and billing features are the most impactful for my company. I love the ease of use as well as the simplicity of work flow with Practice Pro. I am also very impressed with the integration of FOTO for government compliance reporting. Practice Pro is always right on step with emerging needs.

CONS

As with any tech bugs and glitches are always a problem. Practice Pro does however have great customer service support that keeps us informed once we have submitted a ticket. I do wish that a general message would go out to all users if a know issue was being fixed. Many times when we submit a support ticket the problem is already know to tech support and being worked.

Love PPro!

Overall, my experience with PPro has been great. There's so many ways to go about the same tasks. I love the reporting features and KPI data that helps me with my reporting and analysis.

PROS

I love how user-friendly this software is. Being a web-based software allows you to access if from any device that's needed. Being able to manage marketing, referrals, scheduling, documentation and billing from one software is very convenient.

CONS

I feel that Referral Management could see some improvements and closer synced with the scheduler. In the insurance verification section, it would be nice if the patients were in order by not only the date of initial eval, but also the time they come in. If the patient's appointment was moved or rescheduled, having that info be shown in the insurance verification and update in real time would be convenient. Likewise, if a new eval did not show or cancelled the eval, it would be very convenient for the "Scheduled" referral in referred patients for its status to change back to "New Referral" or "Scheduled - No Show/Cx" so we can manage it accordingly. This way we could keep the filters for "New Referral" and "Scheduled - No Show/Cx" and we could easily manage and access these referrals.

Reasons for switching to Practice Pro

I didn't make the switch in EMRs per say, but 4 years ago I began working with Excel and loved how user friendly PPro was/is.

Practice Pro is the way to go.

PROS

Doing the billing, I feel like this system is top notch. I am able to bill for the entire week in a few clicks. I am also able to edit this after it has been run. I can see what visits have been billed under the patient screen as well as in reports. If you call customer service they will walk you through your issue. They are very patient and willing to help until the issue is resolved.

CONS

Under the patients insurance I wish you were able to keep track of how much they have paid towards their deductible. It is great to see how much their co-pay is for each visit but I wish we could also see the deductible like that. Or at least be able to run a report like the Medicare cap report so we know close we are to the cap. I am very happy with the customer service EXCEPT if you leave a message. Calls are rarely returned and if they are it is days later.

Overall, we thought PracticePro was more tailored to our company's needs.

Best Physical Therapy EHR System

My overall experience with Practice Pro is good. I have used other EHR systems and this is by far the best in regards to customization, ease of use on the therapist, and efficiency.

PROS

My favorite feature is the customization of the SOAP note and the EHR format. Physical Therapy documentation is so much different from physician offices. Even within the Physical Therapy profession itself has varying needs. As a vestibular specialist, I need different tables and things than other traditional orthopedics PTs. The fact that I can make it everything I want it to be is wonderful. Customer service is usually extremely supportive and I feel like they take into account my opinions as a therapist.

CONS

I don't have access to the financials but I know it is expensive.

I wish we were still with Practice Pro.

We had Practice Pro when I came to work for my current practice- unfortunately the owner decided to switch to a new EMR and I fins myself constantly saying - well when we had Practice Pro we could do this but our new system doesn't allow for it.

PROS

Software is easy to use and team seems willing to make updates/ listen to user feedback

CONS

The grass is always greener. Things that seemed big at the time seem small in retrospect.

Soap table suggestions

PROS

Reporting is an amazing feature. Being able to produce so many different options is great.

CONS

I think one of the largest improvements is the inputting information - as it stands right now reading information on while inputting information is very difficult and probably the most practical in a physical therapy setting. I huge help has been decreasing the size (width) of the "comment" boxes, if there was an option to completely opt out of the comment region would increased the functional space of data inputting which would be helpful. Another helpful aspect would be allowing cell size to be adjusted (i.e. row height/width) for inputting purposes.

Mostly intuitive

Generally, I really PT Practice Pro.

PROS

I really enjoy the ease of use, after several hours of 'getting used to it'. I can write SOAP notes and/schedule at any of our clinics with out having to log-in to a different system/program.

CONS

I used to be able to 'copy appointment' and then 'past appointment' when I scheduled a patient appointment. Not being able to do this means I have to type everything out for as many appointments I want to schedule. I don't like that. Instead of less than a min to schedule the patient's next 3 or 4 treatments, it takes me about 10 mins.

A rehabilitation therapist's user's review.

The best feature is the editable copy forward, listing of the appointments of a day and use of dashboard to see number of documents to complete and submission of docs from that page.

PROS

The copy forward feature; that allows you to change the critical data and specifics without re-writing all portions of the note.

CONS

The software could compact several features ( ie. once signed in) 1. the system should check off the appointment date and time, and any minutes late; after the arrival button is activated. 2. Clinicians must factor and deduct time which should be done automatically completed w/the digital system. 3. Clinicians must be their own check & balance, which should be a systems features (ie. when note is complete there's a color change from yellow, blue to green, stating 30% complete w/ note of what's needed.

Make documentation easy!

Very supportive with problems when they come up!

I like the documentation system and have been a PT for over 25 years. My staff who have used other systems find it the best compared to other systems!

medical billing user

I used it to bill for a Physical Therapy practice and I did not like it at all, I actually quit doing the billing for this practice because they use this software and it is not efficient or user friendly.

PROS

nothing , it is not a good product and I did not like it at all

CONS

I have been doing medical billing for over 20 years with many different software programs and I thought Practice Pro was not user friendly at all, it is difficult to use, the customer support was awful, and the program itself was hard to maneuver from one screen to another.

I have been using this product for approximately 2 years.

PROS

The vendor is easy to get a hold of and able to correct problems in a timely manner. My specific job requires I switch screens quickly, look for available appointments, and pull up previous charts. Practice Pro navigates easily and quickly, making my job run smoothly. Patients often want to get off the phone as soon as possible. I need a product that will run quickly, give me the information I need immediately so I can assist the patient, and move on to the next patient.

CONS

I tend to look at the schedule a week at a time, and the line dividing the days is too light. Also, when filling out the patient information, if I do not have the social security number, it is time-consuming to go through previous patients that do not have social either. I would prefer not to have that feature. Then, when adding an additional insurance if the patient has two of the same insurance carriers, the system will not save the second insurance. I receive an error message. It usually takes me 3-4 times trying to trick the system to get it to take the second insurance. Also, when sending a dash back and forth, the system does not keep history of the senders. After it has been sent a few times, it's difficult to know who originated the message.

Flowsheets were easy to carry over and fill out.

Difficulty implementing new things onto evaluation that were more specialized, would just type into text box. Also sometimes server would be very slow and all the checkboxes would take a long time instead of being convenient.
