Easily adapts to specific needs.

I love Spring Charts, can't get back to it fast enough.

PROS

Colorful display has a lot of information that is on the desktop and neatly organized. Tabs on the desktop identify type of lab and date as well as type of diagnostic; easy to see right from the desktop as is a list of progress notes with date and highlight of the reason for visit (you title the note yourself). The system allows me to creat templates with letters to specilasts as well as progress notes and vignettes that I want to add to a note and those templates are very easy to make and integrate into the note.

CONS

After using 3 other EMR I found them non intuitive and difficult to find topics from old progress notes. Spring charts allows you to title the note with the main issue of the visit and it shows up by date, with title, in an easy to read column that helps you find information from an old encounter easily.

Reason for choosing SpringCharts EMR

PRICE, DISPLAY, INTUITIVE AND EASY TO USE, ADAPTS EASILY TO MY NEEDS IN: Pediatrics Immigration Internal Medicine Weight loss and nutritional services.

Reasons for switching to SpringCharts EMR

Changing practices.

CMS COMPLIANCE

PROS

The software has been functional for our office for 20 plus years but has not been CMS compliant, and they have expressed they only have a handful of office that need such soft ware, Therefore we are shopping for new software that will be expensive I am sure very time consuming.

CONS

Not CMS compliant and they have not expressed that the EMR will ever become compliant.

The worst EHR/EMR in regards to upgrades, updates, and customer service. Absolutely horrible and has cost me enormous amount of time and revenue.

This company seems so outdated and has been exhausting to work with. An example is the ICD 10 updates. When other colleagues stated they were ready for the deadline and conversion 6 months prior, Spring Medical was not even close to being prepared and barely at the eleventh hour, had minimal data supplied and of that data were the most unspecified codes that, to date, I am still having to performed data entry on a daily basis for specified codes for accuracy!! They have performed NO updates for coding or quality measures and ALL the work has been on our end. We are doing their job!! They are simply doing the bare minimum to qualify themselves as an EHR system and as stated earlier cost me precious time and revenue! It has become so bad that I am approaching legal counsel because this product has not worked as promised and am questioning their standard of performance despite claims in certification!

CONS

The updates are minimal, the support is horrible, their knowledge regarding PQRS, CQM, MIPS reporting is minimal, and the system is universally flawed. Their cost, as I have come to find out through research, is higher than some of the higher rated and successful companies.

Support ten years ago was good, went downhill for a long time but is excellent now.

Much better than paper.

PROS

Great support now. It is server based so that you can keep records during retirement. The cost is low especially when compared to other applications. Our office has looked at quite a few other applications and for the cost and time spent customizing it we keep using it.

CONS

Patient portal experience (don't use it anymore) Built for a mac, the finder is poor for attaching documents.

EMR SYSTEM

PROS

THIS IS A PRETTY EASY AND SIMPLE SYSTEM. ALLOWING TO POINT OUT AND DRAW A MAP OF THE ANATOMY ON CHARTS.
