Modern Features. 5 Overall, I would say that working with Spry has been a significant upgrade from our prior EMR service. The product is evolving rapidly and while I really like where we are at now in less than a year, I am more excited to see how it continues to evolve the next few years. As with any major switch, the transition can be challenging but at the end of the day I am very happy we made the move. Ratings Breakdown 4 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: The main thing that I have enjoyed with Spry is the lack of add-on costs. With our prior provider, we would be hit with fees for text message reminders, AI integration, online scheduling, etc. With Spry, we are locked into a monthly fee that includes all of these extras. I've also enjoying working side by side with Spry as the AI integration has gradually evolved. It is exciting to see the frequency of updates/upgrades as you can tell the team is hard at work building and refining their product. I would also say that I've loved the customer service. Between a dedicated Slack channel as well as bi-weekly meetings, we've been able to refine our product to fit exactly what we want for our clinic. Cons: The biggest con that I could say I have had with Spry is the glitches or bugs that come with the frequent upgrades. It is not unusual for a new feature to cause a few issues in other areas. The Spry team is quick to respond but I would expect this is typical of any company that is putting out updates as frequently as they are. The AI itself tends to take plenty of time to review/re-read to the point where it doesn't save quite as much time as I would like. Reasons for choosing SPRY Spry had better pricing with a locked in 5 year agreement. They also seemed like a newer, small company that would be more personalized to exactly the setup we wanted at OPTS. Reasons for switching to SPRY WebPT had not evolved over the past 10 years of using their product. They were beginning to charge for every additional feature (text reminders in particular). Being able to use the slack messaging system allows for prompt responses from the spry team. Larger or more Complicated requests do take more time. The platform continues to roll out new features which make the user interaction and workflow more efficient. Setting up virtual meetings with the spry team is a real plus when we need more communication that isn't ideal through slack or email. Our patients appreciate the text, email reminds and ease of paying bills online. Customization for appointment type, therapist, etc. via color schemes is really helpful for ease of looking at the schedule. Icons for co-pays, appointment type and status, etc are excellent for ease of looking at the schedule. Appreciate the system prompting us if information is missing, specifically with billing and units billed. System allows you to look for an open or un-initiated follow-up soap note/evaluation/ re-evaluations in order not to miss charting and billing. The AI Scribe has become a game changer. It has improved over the past 2 years and is remarkably intuitive. The user still needs to review the information but it streamlines the evaluation and documentation workflow to create a robust and efficient process, saving time. It is amazing that it will capture verbalized objective measures and place into the proper location in the chart. We do not tend to use it for SOAP notes, primarily only for evaluations. The goal setting feature tends to be vague and ambiguous unless the clinician and patient have clearly verbalized goals during the dictation portion. We do not use the exercise flowsheet at our office. The SOAP format is easy to follow and our staff appreciate the easy to view interface. Our clinic has 2 speciality services: Lymphatics and Vestibular. SPRY has either created workflows for us or had already had workflows in place for these services. They have met our requests for customization/alterations as needed for our specific needs. They continue to work with us on development of additional workflows/packages for alternative services. SPRY is working with us on maximizing our billing processes in conjunction with current billing rules and insurance requirements. Cons: There is some redundancy in information being requested of patients at the intake portion. Occasionally, like any EMR/tech platform, there are rare glitches, which usually can be easily rectified via a Slack message. At times, the response to requests for corrections/modifications is less than idea and requires follow-up requests; this is rare but does occur.
