Useful app
I recommend ARmember when you want to have a cheap and good solution for paid membership on your Wordpress website.
PROSYou can manage easily memberships, block the access at your private pages on your website for non members. I don't use the integrated payment method but I could easily link ARmember to Woocommerce. You can modify all forms : subscription, forgotten password...
CONSUpdating is unconvenient : you have to download the update from a website then update from Wordpress. Would be easier to do it on my website's dashboard, as most of the extensions.

Easy Membership Plugin
PROS
It's very easy to use. There is practically no learning curve. Easy to set up memberships -- or rather to restrict content based on certain conditions like subscriptions etc.
CONSWhen I was using it, I found it very easy like I said, but I didn't know how to work around to make a complete membership website. The documentation and tutorials could have been better. For instance, I use Divi for my website, there was at that time close to no tutorial on how to make a membership website using ARMember and Divi (there was one such for Memberpress). That was the only reason I switched.

Good value for a membership plugin with a lot of options but I don't love it
Overall it is good for the price. I still use it because I have heavy customizations integrated with it so I'm too invested in it to leave it. If I could use another membership plugin for my purpose, I probably would choose another. I don't mind ARMember but I don't think it is polished enough on the front end for me to use it again for another project. The issue with the membership failing to renew automatically was a major drawback too.
PROSThe affordable pricing drew me to it and the flexibility of customization options sold me. It came with many features out of the box and if you needed to expand the capability, the add-ons are affordable too. There were integrations with other companies that made me trust this product more and they were needed for my purpose.
CONSI had issues with auto-renewals not processing correctly, therefore, the subscriptions stopped working and I had to ask customers to re-enter their payment info. I felt very embarrassed about this issue. This was highly disappointing and the support team couldn't fix it directly. A future update seemed to fix it but it happened again about a month after my support ended. The amount of custom CSS to make this look presentable was a pain to set up originally. The pre-made profile templates looked good at first site but looked like junk when I applied them. For example, in the social community profile details page, the templates split the field description title names into two columns instead of keeping it inline above the field. Small things like that were all over the place and took some time to override with CSS.Another small issue, if a user wanted to cancel their membership, they can click the cancel button but it would open up a standard, unstyled "alert" window popup that was very unprofessional looking. This plugin just doesn't have a professional front-end look to it.
Reason for choosing ARMember
It had the integrations with other plugins that I needed for my customizations. The price was great and it seemed like a reliable and professional product. ARMember also had a lot of its own add-ons for expanding its capabilities which helped make my decision.
