As if an all-in-one hardware and software system for your gym isn’t good enough in the first place. This system integrates seamlessly with my billing/payment software. Steps happened on the back end I didn’t even know about and made my life easier. I am glad I went with them, the value is tenfold what I expected. Customer service is unmatched. Quick story— I recently moved to a new house. The movers put my GymMaster system in storage (I hadn’t opened the business yet) and I couldn’t find it, buried in a big shed. GymMaster sent me a new system AT COST, credited me for the system when I found it and sent it back and even made sure to ask how my move was going. Absolutely amazing. #### Cons Nothing! After more than 10 years with our previous software, I only wish we'd made the switch sooner. The transition was much easier than expected and the support from the GymMaster team has been outstanding. The system is modern, reliable and continues to improve with regular updates. Member management, 24/7 access control, online joining, automated communications and reporting have all helped streamline our day-to-day operations while giving our members a far better experience. #### Cons There was a learning curve during the initial setup simply because it offers so many features and customisation options. However, the support team was always available to help and once everything was configured it became very easy to use. We honestly struggle to find any major negatives. #### Reasons for choosing GymMaster We considered Glofox, but a trusted recommendation from another gym owner pointed us towards GymMaster. During a conversation with a Glofox representative, they mentioned they had previously used GymMaster, which further reinforced our confidence in the platform. After comparing our options, GymMaster proved to be the best fit for our business, and our only regret is not switching sooner. #### Reasons for switching to GymMaster After using Clubware for more than 10 years, we wanted a more modern, innovative and user-friendly platform. Every time I’ve reached out (which as been a lot, since I truly want to understand all that the software can do for us) there have been no long hold times and the team has always been kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. They really listen when I explain what I’m trying to do or understand — and instead of just reading from a script or giving me generic FAQ answers, they actually look into my specific situation and find real solutions. We changed our management system around the covid outbreak and were really relieved with the support GymMaster extended to users throughout this time. The level of support you receive from the team is second to none - having direct phone access to support as well as being able to email help for more complex issues. GymMaster is also great value for money - it has meant that we have been able to unsubscribe to other 'add on' services/subscriptions that we now use directly in GymMaster eg, emailing our newsletters was previously done through Mail Chimp. #### Cons The initial set-up. We are actually a Car Wash but have been able to implement the GymMaster Software to manage our Unlimited Wash memberships as well as to use as our regular POS system. The POS part of the software has been very easy for our employees to use and making changes in the settings is quick and simple, especially when it comes to adding or changing products or memberships. #### Cons I wouldn't say that we disliked anything about the software but there were a few areas that could be tweaked to better serve other types of businesses, like our car wash. It would be great to be able to switch between users more easily. Our employees got frustrated logging out of one users profile and into theirs so we eventually just left it logged in under my profile and everyone just used that. It would be more user friendly (for multiple users like at our business) if there could be a way to have a basic version up and have users prompted to enter a user number or password when they complete certain functions like ringing up a customer or adding a new member. For cash transactions It would be helpful if the receipts could show how much was paid and how much change is due to the customer. or have a window pop up showing how much change a customer is supposed to receive. It would also be great to have the ability to turn off or customize certain fields such as medical information or member details as we don't need it but could use that section to track other information such as the vehicle information. For us, our memberships are attached to a vehicle and not to a person so it would be fantastic to have an option to track memberships in that way. Prior to finding GymMaster we were running multiple programs to achieve the same tasks that GymMaster can achieve as a stand alone operating system. Setup was a learning curve we were able to work through with our IT business partner but once we had everything setup we were very impressed at how everything was able to be integrated fairly seamlessly. The app, while still quite glitchy, allows us to monitor what's going on at our 24 hour facility remotely at all times. Our members love being able to use their apps to monitor their memberships and buy products on their own after hours. Tailgating works perfectly and allows us to easily monitor when non-members have entered without prior arrangement or with permission as a dropin with a friend. However, the Gym Master team have been amazing, their attitude were exceptional by ways of: 1. Helping - Understanding my needs of learning GymMaster. 2. The folders are well labeled and easy to follow prompts and dropdown boxes. The GymMaster is an amazing tracker of clients and bookings, as well as memberships. Every gym should adopt this software for piece of mind. #### Cons It's not a major thing. I mean, off the record. Time difference calling from AU, NSW at 7pm, and it's 11pm in NZ when they're closed. No incentive was offered We control our business with GymMaster and as a small business owner, it doesn't get any more important than that. The technical staff are always available and very helpful. My experience with them is superior to many other software companies I have used in the past. GymMaster gives us insight into billings, facility usage, membership information, and even provides a portal to contact our member en masse as we had to with recent COVID-19 activities. I truly feel that they value our relationship and that speaks volumes to us. Its functionality goes above and beyond. We are able to track membership activity very quickly and painlessly. The controls within the system are much appreciated. My staff is frequently offered tutorials for use of the software and understanding any.al upgrades. #### Cons Cannot think of any cons to this software. Customer service was always incredibly responsive and helpful, with a very quick turn-around time, even though they are based in New Zealand and we are in the United State! I found GymMaster and was thrilled that their upfront costs were so much less expensive. Easy to install and use and their launch program provided one-on-one guidance. Most importantly, their customer service is extraordinary. I have been an international consultant in the health and fitness industry for 30+ years and I would highly recommend them to anyone--and I'm not getting a dime to say any of this. Literally, I am a customer. #### Cons Although it was not an issue for my application, I'd like them to offer a second keyfab option that are a bit more rugged for clients/members who abuse their keychain. I will pass your idea on to the team for extra strong key fobs, can't say we have had this request before, but it's super handy to have this feedback on hand when making future decisions with suppliers. As for the members who love to rough up their tags in the meantime, we also recently have released the new option for Bluetooth door readers. This allows members to use their phone to enter the club via the members app without RFID tags on them all the time. Maybe a solution to consider down the track! The reporting is clear and accurate which is something we rely heavily on to look after our members. We used two different softwares and they were hard for my staff. Gymmaster is great and easy to use.
