### About Huntress

Huntress is a cloud-based cybersecurity solution, designed to help small to midsize businesses determine and respond to threats and vulnerabilities.

Security teams can use the dashboard to track active incidents and investigations and generate custom incident reports. The solution helps users identify malicious footholds and discover hackers attacking Windows applications. With Ransomware Canaries, IT professionals can detect potential ransomware incidents and evaluate the scope of an attack. It also facilitates endpoint protection by managing Microsoft Defender Antivirus.

Pricing is available on request and support is extended via phone and email.

If you want a simple, high value MDR, look no further than Huntress

Huntress, overall is great. They have been very helpful from a support and marketing standpoint, enabling partners. And it's so simple.

Functionality

Pros:

Huntress is a quiet MDR. They are a trusted and reputable security company without the noise. Great value for the money! I like how it integrates with either Defender or MDE/MDB. They love to empower partners as well. Super easy setup/deployment and integrates direct with RMM.

Cons:

So, being a tech guy, sometimes I like the noise. I suppose I wish I had, if desired, deep insights into the backend logs to see the events/logs & escalations. Compared to Blackpoint, there is basically 1-5% of the entire default noise that Blackpoint sends. I think BP's noise is too much; but I like a healthy amount for trust, viability, etc. I have yet to have an incident (over the past year with 4 customers) ever escalate to the point where Huntress would have to stop or isolate a user or device, but I'm confident they are experts and will respond.

Reasons for choosing Huntress

Price & Value for some customers that didn't have an EDR yet.

Excellent MDR Solution with Strong Automation and Microsoft 365 Integration

5

Our overall experience with Huntress has been very positive. It provides a strong layer of security through continuous monitoring, threat detection, and automated response capabilities. The integration with Microsoft 365 is particularly valuable, allowing automated actions such as disabling compromised accounts, helping contain threats quickly, and reducing response times during incidents. Device isolation and response through the Huntress agent also provide an effective way to manage security incidents when they occur. The platform is easy to use and offers strong malware protection, useful alerting, geo-blocking capabilities, and straightforward device management. While there can occasionally be issues with inaccurate geo-tagging or alerts relating to historical activity, these instances are generally minor and easy to investigate. Customer support is typically quick to respond and can assist with most issues effectively. While the support experience isn't always exceptional, it is generally reliable and provides the assistance needed to resolve problems when they arise. Overall, Huntress delivers excellent value for money, combines strong security capabilities with useful automation, and has become an important part of our security stack. We would highly recommend it to organisations looking for an effective managed detection and response solution.

Functionality

Pros:

Huntress has been an excellent addition to our security stack and provides strong protection against modern threats. The platform is easy to use, offers clear visibility into security events, and provides valuable alerts that help identify suspicious activity quickly. One of the standout features is the integration with Microsoft 365, allowing automated actions such as disabling compromised accounts and helping contain threats rapidly. Device isolation and response capabilities through the Huntress agent are also extremely useful when dealing with potential security incidents. The platform offers effective malware and virus protection, managed detection and response capabilities, and features such as geo-blocking and automated threat remediation. Deployment and ongoing management are straightforward, making it suitable for both small and large environments. Overall, it delivers excellent value for money given the level of protection and automation provided.

Cons:

While Huntress is generally very accurate, there are occasions where alerts can be triggered by historical activity or where locations are incorrectly geo-tagged, which can sometimes cause confusion and require additional investigation. Although these instances are relatively uncommon, they can occasionally generate unnecessary concern or extra work for administrators. Some alert details could also be clearer in specific scenarios, particularly when determining whether activity is current or historical.

Pros:

The community/culture of the Huntress team is great. Joining their weekly groups is great education on what is going on in today's world.

Cons:

I feel as if it is playing catchup or adding needed services JUST behind other competitors. I wish there was also a built in script for deployment rather than customized one.

Pros:

Support is number 1 in my opinion, the team behind Huntress are second to none, always available and willing to help and know their stuff. The product is light on machines, has a great dashboard and alerting is wonderful.

Cons:

Would love for it to integrate with Defender for Business instead of just the free Windows Defender.

Reasons for switching to Huntress

The support and complexity of Sophos made the product very unattractive. Support only got worse over the 12 months we used them and as such we made the switch.

Pros:

\-The Huntress team reviews and classifies severity of alerts before they get to our team, which reduces our workload. They also include remediation plans and work with us if needed. -The rollout/integrations were very smooth and out clients didn't experience negative issues as a result of the rollout. -The pricing model works very well for the SMB market.

Cons:

It is not as advanced as other software like a SentinelOne or a Crowdstrike, but it can work well in tandem with them.
