Pros/Cons
Pros
- It also keeps you up to date with respect to the top process classes which are consuming CPU and Memory. It is one of the best application monitoring tool.
- Great monitoring into web applications and infrastructure and great analytics dashboards.
- I like the application, server and even the network flow monitoring of the application. My best part of the application feature is it drill down capability in determine root cause of an issue.
Cons
- Able to see JVM memory usage, garbage collection, JVM error, and applications error per tier to associated systems.
- No access to get AppD DB for capturing specific things. Scenario - I want my URL or API to be send in the app d alert but there is no provisioning , i raised ticket as well, but so far no provision.
- One negative point that I can see is that the Lite version records data from only the last two hours, that´s not enough.
Pros
- Overall, I'm very satisfied with DataDog and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and comprehensive monitoring and analytics platform.
- I noticed that this monitoring system is very flexible, you can track pretty much any metric, which is great. Great integration with many services like AWS, Chef, Couchbase, JVM, HAProxy, MySQL etc.
- Best user experience-Unified view of all metrics. It is a lifesaver when troubleshooting performance issues-A broad range of product offerings.
Cons
- Some of the detailed views of where bottlenecks are troubling a system can be lacking. Something we've seen a lag getting data refreshed in the dashboards.
- Not have rate limiter to control some bad metrics. Not have a mobile app, in some case can be faster to get some alerts.
- Could have a mobile app so we can have mobile notifications, It could be hard to integration with others tools.
