It is a complete tool for all network control tasks, security and device usage in the organization. It is easy to update and import settings from one user to a new user. It can be programmed to allow or deny Internet access at various times and devices.

Cons

The management software is a bit slow at times.

Software that Punches above it's weight

the purchase and on boarding process was very smooth and customer support is very efficient . I had an executive who helped with the renewals although it was a non working day in his country , I would recommend it to anybody.

Pros

The software is easy to install and was cheap to purchase and Cost wise very high ROI. What we especially like about the product is the ease of report generation and monitoring such that it could be taught to no technical staff like the HR executive for instance. It required very less resources and licensing model is simple

Works Well, Great Support

The system works very well. Features like being able to provide a custom block screen are great. Being able to rename the system from the actual PC name helps to better identify the system in the admin interface. You can create a custom installer for client systems. It's easy to update the client settings, and to import settings from an existing client to a new one.

Pros

The software is easy to distribute to client systems.

Cons

The administrative software can be slow and a little bit cumbersome. The list of systems is missing a search or an easy way to filter the full list of installed systems. This may have changed with the newer web based interface.

High security network monitoring

Pros

BrowseControl ensures that our internal network is secure with its high-end network monitoring infrastructure.

Cons

BrowseControl should have a native MAC version which would be definitely useful for us.

Amazingly easy setup with great support

It allows my workers to use the internet and make money for the practice without distraction/temptation to use personal websites/email/shopping.

The support and ease of setup. As a “novice” I was able to set up with help from support in about an hour. Previous software took forever and didn’t work as advertised. This software worked right out of the box.

We use Browse control and other CurrentWare products as an essential part of our security practices. I like the product, and it works great. We have utilized CurrentWare for the last eight years, and I've no complaints. Responsive support and willing to take feedback and suggestions. Highly recommended

Cons

File download control wouldn't work with HTTPS. Doesn't have the ability to request to open a site on the block page, like an unblock button which will trigger an email to the admin, it does include an email link on pages that are within the blocked URL list but not for those in blocked categories

Cons

Monitoring dashboard needs to be planned in a much more user-friendly way to provide better user-experience.

Brief interruptions sometimes when updating clients. You can choose a auto update feature that will reach out to the clients and upgrade them while in use. We have run into some issues at times with this feature.

Once the software is implemented, its easy to manage. Never encountered "glitches" or interruptions with it.

When new versions come out, it can sometimes be tricky to upgrade if you're not experienced in the tech area, however we usually contact their customer service for assistance.

BrowseControl is a professional data flow management platform with secure environment for easy project data management. The simplicity is effective and the easy to manage big data across Cloud services is excellent and the reports are very accurate.

No issues on BrowseControl and the features configuration and the training on its basic usability is excellent.

It is very user friendly. All members of our staff have been able to easily access it.

Cons

The only issue we had was the setup. I had somebody help me online and it wasn't completely set up and it caused a few billing hiccups. Once I contacted the company it was easily rectified.

This really helped manage network bandwidth in our head office by controlling and providing visibility into how the bandwidth was consumed. We were able to implement controls that optimized business productivity and from our results it was evident.

Great software and support

We have used other web filtering and block programs before and CurrentWare has been the best for us and at a great price. Some of our workstations work via VPN and once the agent is installed it still does what we want.

Pros

The software actually does what was advertised and the support is great same day! We were able to have the software up and running on the same day with no issues or even a call/email to their support. We are able to have the control over web access on either the hardware level or user level. We chose user level since our users move from workstation to workstation. Plus we are able to create user groups that define a level of access and move the users between them as needed.

Cons

The only Con that comes to mind is sometime while upgrading the license needs to be reapplied. Not a big issue but only con I have.

Very Glad We Found BrowseControl

Since going live with BrowseControl, the number of requests that have come in about the "blocking" software not working has decreased dramatically. Before, it was almost a daily issue, and now it happens every now and then. This is fixed by restarting the Client Service.

Pros

BrowseControl is very simple to setup, and it is very easy to install on the client's computer. Also, the ongoing administration of the devices is easy to maintain.

Cons

The password keeps getting reset to the default value on our client's computers. This is a little concerning overall, but this is not a threat with our current client base.

That's the one the company owns. We use to used a GFI blocker app which never worked properly. The policies were terrible to set at that moment. Furthermore, the annual fee was increased dramatically.

After a trial and some Help desk support calls, I learned how to use it. What I like most is the simplicity of its configuration.

Cons

When an update comes or is installed, some times is a bit messy the way to recover the new license and those stuff, in terms of time I'm speaking. Also, the Remote Client Install has never work in my case.

Easy to Setup and Administer

I've been very happy with the product. We bought it and deployed it and it worked as described from day one. We've had no issues.

I like that once the software is setup and deployed, the mainlining and updating of the product is self contained. I don't have to worry about creating new update packages or configurations. The product works like its supposed to.

Cons

There can be slowness in the product when running the management console on a client machine, but thats not a unique problem to this product either.
