Great idea but requires a lot more functionality.

Not a usable product yet. We will watch in our test environment for hopefully something that actually would help our management of domains, WAFs, certificates, firewalls, etc. across our multi Loadbalancer environment.

Pros:

Really good idea to manage multiple Loadbalancers and WAFs but the current implementation is very weak.

Cons:

Where is the "meat?" Can't see the WAF logs, can't modify the appliances, can't manage firewalls, etc. Needs a lot more.

Reasons for choosing Load Balancer Enterprise ADC

Has a Metaswitch WAF with rules that protect our CommPortals and SIP-PS.

Vendor Response

Ouch, It never feels great to get a one star review. You're right the new ADC Portal is definatley not very useful for WAF observability. But your feedback is incredibly useful, and means we might accelerate our plans... Several customers have given us feedback that they want more graphs, more logs and definately more automation! At the moment with the ADC Portal you can see and oraganise your F5/Citrix/Kemp estate (visibility), schedule backups, see your SSL Certifcates and CVE warnings and use secure remote access to fix issues directly + software updates for Loadbalancer.org Enterprise ADCs. Coming soon is monitoring, alerting and automation pipelines.. Observability graphs and logs + AI analysis won't be comming for a while. However we do have several improvements comming soon in the core Enterprise ADC product: Such as improved HTTP/2 SSL and SNI support for the WAF. Once again, thank you so much for your feedback. Even if it hurts. Malcolm Turnbull Founder and CEO

Functionality

Pros:

The system is designed to be user-friendly and straightforward to configure, even for those with limited technical experience. It features a well-designed, intuitive web-based user interface (WebUI) that allows for efficient navigation and management of settings. Upgrading to newer versions is a seamless process, requiring minimal downtime and ensuring compatibility with existing configurations.

Cons:

The Web-based user interface (WebUI) does not currently provide an option to configure or adjust the time interval between individual monitoring checks, requiring manual modification through backend settings or configuration files instead.

Reasons for choosing Load Balancer Enterprise ADC

I only know the Open Source variant, and it lacks a GUI.

Pros:

I like it's simplicity and the support. I worked with NetScaler for a good majority of my career and switching for loadbalancer.org has been the best decision for my organization. The support is always fast and good.

Cons:

I honestly can't think of a cons at the moment; maybe just improve abilities to do more with ACL rules, like for instance create the ability to block by source domain; rather than just IP.

Reasons for switching to Load Balancer Enterprise ADC

Pros:

Their support team is outstanding. Few vendors we’ve worked with offer the same level of responsiveness, technical expertise, and commitment to resolving issues. In an industry where many products offer similar core functionality, it’s the quality of support that truly sets Load Balancer Enterprise ADC apart. Whether facing a complex configuration question or troubleshooting a critical issue, their support staff consistently delivers timely, knowledgeable assistance that makes a significant difference in our operational confidence.

Cons:

Over the past few years, we’ve encountered a handful of bugs across different versions that led to brief outages in our production environment. While these incidents were disruptive, they were not frequent and were typically resolved quickly. Fortunately, the vendor’s support team was responsive and effective, helping us identify and implement fixes in a timely manner. Still, more rigorous regression testing prior to new releases would improve confidence in long-term stability.
