No-Code DB Builder
With baserow,am ensuring that I collect data from different teams located in different counties in a timely manner. The Data storage anddb design havebeen well sorted and with Baserow, there has been increased productivity and comparatively reduced personnel costs as to adding Experts.
PROSThe Data Storage, Data ase design which is drag n drop makes this a more better product. The availability of a number of templates that align to the Projectneeds is welcome and the User Interface design is welcome. Further, the structure of Project management and layout plays a more bigger role in the daily activity management of App.
CONSIt is not easily understood to a non-starter and the pricing model while seems average, moreneeds to be done on the feature availability and a more cost-effective method or package defined.
Reasons for switching to Baserow
Flexibility amd need for a more nuanced system informed my switching to Baserow.

Great effort. needs many improvements.
over all support is very good. sadly, without the certain features we cannot sign up. in order for baserow to excel, it must: offer all the airtable features, for less $, or offer better platform for the same (or more) $.
PROSclean interface. seems to load much faster than airtable. support is by far exceeds others.
CONSBaserow, is missing many features offered by airtable. Such as the view imbed feature, where we can imbed a certain view, with automatically generated I frame, with options to convert the "grid" view into card format, (horizontal), that's very pleasing to look at. another, is hidden items. with baserow there is no option to hide items in order to minimize "item headers", but have all item's fully visible in expanded mode. in base row hidden items remain hidden, which makes the entire feature worthless. also, the controls, are as worthless as airtable, and are not compatible with mobile devices, in imbed / I Frame mode. Serious IOs compatibility as well, just like the competition.
Reason for choosing Baserow
did not.
Vendor Response
Hi Mazin, thanks for taking the time to review Baserow and sharing your feedback. Much appreciated. As a heads up, views can be embedded into an iframe (a good example of this in action would be our baserow.io/templates page). We also have Gallery view, which is similar to what I believe you're looking for regarding "card format." For the other stuff, I may not be fully understanding, but I highly recommend jumping into the Baserow Community (community.baserow.io) so that you can share screenshots/GIFs of what you're looking for in Baserow. Once we have a better understanding of that, then we can start the process of fitting it into the roadmap. :) -Hiram

Excellent tlTool for Multi Variable Cataloging
Baserow is the most affordable software on the market that allows for easily creating a highly customizable, multi variable catalog of items and even has the capacity to include photos. I use it to create and sort lists of hundreds of items and props and organize them by all the scenes that they play in. When the scheduled day for a scene changes, with a few simple clicks, I can change the day that scene was slated to shoot on and all the dozens of not hundreds of props associated with that scene shift to the new day. It has shaved so much time off of managing itemized lists.
CONSThe interface on mobile or tablet is a bit crowded. But I understand that is also somewhat because of how I use the product out in the field. I feel like the card view could have more formating or vanity organizational options.
Vendor Response
Hey Juliana, thanks so much for your review! Glad to hear Baserow is making it easy for you to manage your catalog and streamline your workflow. We've taken note of your feedback surrounding card view and how you use Baserow on the go so we can improve your experience in this regard. Baserow: The Low Code Base we all wanted
Very good. I'm rooting for this platform to succeed in the long run.
PROSI like that it is using a FOSS model, and features self-hosting. The UI is much more laid back compared to competitors like SmartSuite and Airtable. Which can be a bit much with the UI colors. Baserow has the cleanness of a tool like Notion which I prefer. Also, the templates are really good. Would love to be able to help expand them.Love how the forms work as well as public sharing, it's just better than Airtable's setup here. Something nice about the cloud-based version.
CONSThe user access is really bad. There should be a way to share a single base without everything in the workspace without having to go to the highest plan. Even then going through teams only for that kind of access is archaic and harder for users to manage. I have files I'd like only certain people to access, and sometimes on an individual basis. I would love it if Baserow had a feature to let guests edit public files without an account. Similar to a form.Wish it had more "extension" features, maybe a click-up or notion direct integration. Zapier helps here, though, I want to use this as a database inside of other tools directly. There are a lot of systems that do project management very well and it would be better to use this inside of those than lock it as a competitor of those systems to "compete". The pricing model is what it is, but I don't like it. A huge reason of why I've switched out of Airtable was cost. It seemed like you kept upgrading and upgrading and still were missing key features behind a payroll. For a team that got expensive. Baserow is much cheaper, but I'd feel more inclined to pay for the premium if I got more for it. Not just one user, not all of these scope limitations, a real value add for an org. This software is competing against google sheets which works just as well for 90+% of people with the same use cases for absolutely no cost. Figuring out how much you're going to pay for a team with most of these base software's is going to require thi
Reasons for switching to Baserow
Cost, convenience, and the opensource title. Stuff is moving to self-hosted. Value adds. Etc. Software has never been this good, and this diverse. So the best players are going to get the attention over time.
Vendor Response
Hey Jacob, Really appreciate your input and in-depth review! Glad that the templates are helpful—we have new ones (and updates to existing ones) with every release, so keep an eye out on those. We're going to take some notes regarding your suggestions around user access control. Security is a huge point of focus for us, which includes RBAC and granular permissions for both internal and external collaborators. Would also love to hear more about how you're using Baserow in conjunction with Notion and ClickUp, and learn how you'd envision an integration or "use [Baserow] inside of those" as you mentioned. I'd encourage you to jump into the Baserow Community (community.baserow.io) so that we can discuss with the broader team and better understand to see if we can hopefully make something happen. - Hiram

Affordable and Growing alternative to Airtable and Notion
Overall, I had a solid experience using Baserow and I would recommend it to anyone coming from a background of using Notion or Airtable. I had connection issues with Notion and Airtable where I am from. However, I could easily fix that problem by hosting an instance of Baserow in my own server.
PROSI think the most I liked about Baserow was that it offered a lot of the features I was expecting coming from using Notion. I also worked with Airtable before and I think that Baserow can substitute both those platforms. But it exceeds them because Baserow is open source. That's what I like about this app. You can host it wherever you want and you get a solid user experience. I certainly see myself using this app for my day to day needs and for my clients as well. Also preparing templates with this app is easy and I would definitely pursue that angle as well.
CONSI feel like a rich text field like HTML or Markdown is missing in Baserow. I saw it in their development roadmap and I can't wait to also see that field in the list of fields Baserow offers. This is important to me because with this field, I won't have to rely on google docs, or uploading markdown files to the attachment field for writing longer form content.
Reasons for switching to Baserow
Connection Issues with Notion and vendor lock-in. I feared that I might lose my data if I continued to use Notion.
Vendor Response
Hey Zachary, Really appreciate your evaluation and recommendation of Baserow! Rich text field is indeed on the roadmap, and a feature I'm personally really excited for as well. We'll take into consideration the possible implementation of Markdown too, which I'm a _big_ fan of. With this, Baserow could be an extremely powerful CMS and handle tons of long-form content with more versatility. - Hiram

Great option for quickly turning ideas into reality
For most of what I've tried in Baserow it just works the way I'd expect it to work. Also, there have been multiple times where I've wished for a feature in my head and then shortly after it's been implemented.
PROSI love the flexibility and the ease of implementing basic relationships between tables, calculated fields, and different field types.
CONSWhen using the API, the field names are very cryptic and I haven't figured out a way to make them more readable.
Reason for choosing Baserow
Baserow is a great middle option between the alternatives that is easy to set up
Vendor Response
Hey Brandon, thanks for your review! Mind reading is something we implemented recently, which is how we've been able to ship features shortly after you think of them. (Kidding.) On a more serious note, we have some API docs which should be helpful, but if you still need some help, I'd recommend jumping into the Baserow Community (community.baserow.io) so that a fellow Baserower can help you out. -Hiram

Baserow user just dabbling
Baserow has become a central repository for company information like, The employee list, where IP Scan logs go, converted google sheets are stored, and my favorite part is the data is accessible from SQL Server. Amazing product!
PROSWe mainly use baserow as a substitute to google sheets and it does that exceptionally.
CONSThe biggest issue is that the free version only allows 1 user, which means all users have to share an account. Not very ideal but it works. I also understand this is a paid feature.
Reason for choosing Baserow
We are still evaluating between Baserow and NocoDB. Baserow is the winner so far because it allways quick and easy importing of excel files where NocoDB take a lot more effort getting the data imported.
Reasons for switching to Baserow
Because our company works with Education and students in New York state so we are bound by Ed-Law2d which forbids using google sheets to share data.
Vendor Response
Hi Kenneth, Great to hear that Baserow is helping you meet your business needs! We have some resources in our community and blog for helping you make the best choice when it comes to the right platform for your business, so be sure to take a look at those—I trust you'd find them helpful. A great basic product that needs slight polishing to be outstanding
The basic functions and overall app design are excellent. The migration from other apps, and the creation of new instances, has been effortless.
PROSEasy migration from other applications and the lean and clean interface. The support has been outstanding.
CONSThe worst feature by far is typography. The emphasis is on the structure rather than the content. For example, the Field names are Black and Bold and prominent, while the content is grey and subsidiary. The lack of any typographic controls is almost a deal breaker.

Reasons for switching to Baserow

Capable open-source product for rapid integrations
In olden times, one would build integration around spreadsheets with technologies like Visual Basic and such. Filemaker is another piece of software that comes to mind. These projects often grow to form the backbone of small-medium sized companies. While the use case is completely legitimate, it can be frustrating to see the vendor lock-in and potential tech debt this causes. Baserow is open source, really nice and accessible from a user perspective and yields the more modern integration landscape of a web application / REST API.
CONSFunctionality is sometimes a little too basic, having page-sized print layouts would enable many more use cases.
Vendor Response
Hi Frank, Thanks for sharing your experience and input. We'd love to know what functionality you think Baserow is missing—check out our roadmap and/or GitLab repo to see if something catches your eye. High potential database
Very nice and easy to understand. I created a lot of functions and it will be usefull for the project management.
PROS- the number of type of fields- view of each parameter of other tables- Easy computation of data- Possibility to use data with other apps (retool, appsmith, etc...)
CONS- not able to find easily identical data on big data import from csv for example- the filtering with only "and" or "or" is very boring and timewasting when we want to filter on a multiple value parameter with a lot of values- Computed link to data from other tables not available- agenda should be improved and a way to link to personnal agenda (gmail or other)
Reason for choosing Baserow

It's hot on the heels of Airtable
We are waiting for the addition of grouping by, count, and roll-up functions, among others, in Baserow before we can migrate from Airtable. Without grouping by, it is impossible to make the migration as it is a key UX requirement for our users.
PROSirtable is a great service, but it has some limitations, especially when it comes to the number of records and pricing. Baserow is poised to become the perfect open-source alternative, as it has the same minimalist design and ease of use, and also has a roadmap with useful features that are necessary to become a fully functional database.
CONSBaserow currently lacks some features when compared to Airtable, such as grouping by, count, and roll-up functions, as well as some webhooks and automation features. However, these features are on the roadmap and expected to be released this year. Additionally, some of the more advanced features such as role-based field permissions and logging will only be available in the enterprise version and not in the free open-source version.
Reason for choosing Baserow
features, design, price, open source
Vendor Response
Hey Alexander, Thanks for taking the time to review us! Not sure if you've swung back to Baserow recently, but it might be helpful to fill you in on some of the features you mentioned: 1. Group by: This may end up getting moved up on the roadmap. 2. Count and rollup functions exist. The rollup field isn't native like on Airtable, but it's still possible to do it through a formula field. 3. Webhooks can be found when clicking the 3 dots (...) next to the table view. 4. Native Baserow automations are on the way. A nice alternative to Airtable!
I've only used for a couple of months, but have been very pleased overall so far. We were looking for an Airtable replacement tool and this is by far the best we've seen.
PROSI like the ease of setting up my templates and importing data from other locations. Also their pricing fits our small/mid-size organization better than Airtable, and the ability to connect to our servers to own our information.
CONSNeed more automations and ability to select more than one item at a time...would save tons of time.
Reason for choosing Baserow
Mainly pricing and the ability to connect to servers to own our data.
Reasons for switching to Baserow
