About Mobsted

Mobsted is a cloud-based progressive web app (PWA) platform that helps small to large sized businesses with backend code structuring automation and multichannel app creation. Its key features include custom API development, data tracking and single link deployment. The application comes with a visual front-end tool that helps developers create and design an app and modify its functionality. The solution’s built-in app distribution feature lets supervisors invite users through text messages, QR codes, email, social share and VoIP triggers. Administrators can provide role-based access and set security rules based on user source, geolocation and network location. Mobsted integrates with third-party platforms such as Twilio, MessageBird, MailGun, Asterisk and Free...

Mobsted Pricing

Mobsted apps are fully hosted and deployed. So pricing is based on actual load and is measured by active users (who access the app each month) and by size of the databases used up by the application.

Pianist with zero code skills creates a fully working Progressive Web App for his wife's company....

Our company runs many different activities (restaurant, shop, bikes rental, concerts, conferences, museum, room renting etc). I really wanted to make an app so our customers can "see" in "realtime" what is happening in our company : for example : at this right moment = only one table free in our restaurant ... there are only 4 tickets remaining for this evening's concert... a guided tour is happening right now in our museum... there are 3 bikes that just came in right now, you can rent them in 5 minutes etc etc. My Mobsted admin/constructor is always open on my computer and i update it every time something changes is our company, even minor changes, for example : a customer is drinking the last beer of a brand right now ? I update it "out of stock". The next client will not be able to order one as it is no more visible on the app :-) Updating things is really easy and very fast with Mobsted.

PROS

When you start from zero and you have to read dozens of pages of "how to..."-articles...., things become a little bit scary. Mobsted have had the very good idea to provide several "demo-apps" in their constructor. So, when something is not clear for you in the help section, goto one of the demo app's and "see" how it's working (instead of reading). That has been very very helpfull to me. Another very helpfull thing at Mobsted is their online help. Never seen such a good service in all my life. They answer very quickly and friendly. The best is that they know i am a beginner and they have never make me feel as a "ignorant and boring" customer. They always reply friendly when i ask (maybe stupid) questions. The conclusion is that i have been able to built my PWA. Friendly service, user-friendly constructor layout and many articles/examples and videos were there to help.

CONS

Some functions to make a nice design might be missing. Just one example : shadows are only possible on the bottom of an element. When i was trying another platform before Mobsted one could put shadows on all 4 sides, even inner and outside. I miss this on Mobsted. Color gradient would be great too. The most difficult part for making an app is their "data and filters" management. I've been struggling with that for a while.

Reasons for switching to Mobsted

This is just one of the reasons : I asked Mobsted if they could change some things in their webmanifest in order to have the "fullscreen" mode (not only the standalone mode) and... they made it happen ! I have been searching over the internet to find PWA platforms that could provide fullscreen and Mobsted seems to be the only one. I am really happy with it because i always use smartphones who have no notch.

Great no code PWA building platform

In overall we were very happy. It took our internal non developer person with some IT background to create a not so easy custom app in less than 3 month, while still doing his other responsibilities, and if you count hours I would say that we spent at least 7 to 10 times less resources on getting the job done, compared to offers from several local developer firms.

PROS

App building interface, built in data tables and ability to work with it internally and externally was judged by our team as pretty awesome, powerful, yet easy. Ability to live test the app while you work with it also has a very high impact, as we were quick to understand in some places that initial designer sketches were not user friendly and we just changed on a fly.

CONS

The interface seemed to be too complex at first, you need a couple of days to get a hang of where things are and why. Some parts of UI seem to be less though through than others. Partial deployment and testing of new versions is flexible and does work, but still needs more though and learning than we would want.

Reason for choosing Mobsted

Price/value, ease of use, yet ability to build complex and custom ideas without actually coding seems to be greatest in Mobsted. Some systems allow for easier data works (like webflow), some for more template like development and some just overly too complex and costly.
