Extremely Powerful and Scalable Product and Reporting
Highly configurable. Can be implemented for any human services organization. Lots of configuration options. Reporting is as good as it gets. The built-in Business Objects Web Intelligence platform is as advanced of a reporting engine as you can get. Powerful add-on products.
CONSETO is not for small organizations, nor organizations that lack the capacity to administer and report. It's an advanced tool that needs a competent administrator and report writer.

Will Suit Your Needs Once Learned Properly!
ETO has streamlined how and where documents are stored. This was the biggest challenge we faced as a company. With many documents such as releases, and informed consents, having these types of documents in one concise area was incredibly valuable.
PROSETO had everything that our business needed to succeed. All sorts of documents can be made available here. This includes time sheets, tax information, beneficiary documents, company info, and access to company benefits both internal and external.
CONSETO software was very easy to use, although it was oftentimes tricky to navigate. Finding certain places such as the time sheets or benefit information would be tucked in odd tabs. Thankfully it was easy to save frequently used options to a "Favorites" tab.
Reason for choosing Bonterra ETO
We wanted something that would be the most stable and easy to use. Thankfully ETO met our needs and was also met with a supportive team of technical professionals available at a moments notice. They were unable to be matched by any other competitors.

Poor support and very slow development. Not even browser neutral.
Reporting is powerful. Home pages are customizable. User setup is granular and fairly straightforward.
CONSAddons are being developed, but the core functionality hasn't been updated in a long time. The interface is extremely clunky, and Internet Explorer is required - it's not browser neutral. Leadership has turned over a couple of times and they seem to have a lack of focus. 6 years ago they were the best software out there. Now, competitors have passed them up in features and functionality.

Through their in-house training, I was able to learn a whole new skill-set involving business objects reporting. The agency I worked for was able to implement fully automatic dashboard reporting across the board.
PROSThe customization of this software made it able to meet diverse needs. We were able to set up effective workflows to meet our agency's diverse needs from case notes and client progress management, homeless management information system requirements, academic/classroom areas, student behavior and progress management, and even medical services and health progress tracking. The company also provides their own tech support for admins and users, making it a one-stop shop for database needs. The best feature by far is the built-in reporting platform of Web Intelligence's Business objects.
CONSCustomization can lead to strain on the agency database admin staff; it's a high-capacity product, and if the customer does not have the staffing and administration to manage it, things won't be successful.

Never thought i’d miss it
Great.
PROSUsed this for daily documentation from 2010-2019. I like how it was all together but separate for each student. I like the set up of the view/edit screen.
CONSGlitches. or sometimes you would been 1/2 + through an assessment and it would time out and wouldn’t save.

DO NOT USE. Very slow, deletes work, glitches daily.
We use ETO for a non-profit home visitation program and it is horrible. I cannot stand it and no one will do anything about it. Hopefully we will be switching software too because it is the bain of my existence and is one of the main reasons I am looking for a new job. ETO freezes, is slower than Moses, deletes your documentation without you knowing so you have to re-enter it, and I honestly have nothing good to say about it. I am not sure if it is the way our program is using it or if it is just the program itself but after seeing other reviews I am blaming the software.
PROSI see no pros to using ETO. There are better more efficient software programs out there to use.

Worse customer service and very outdated NOT AN EMR!
It was easy to learn and easy to train new staff
CONSThe customer service is horrible. They always want more money to help resolve issues. Getting your clinical documentation when you leave is a nightmare and costly. They outsource customer service so you to have to pay a 3rd party.

ETO Software
This product is generally easy to understand and has a lot of possible features. This is our essential avenue for gym paperwork management, and allows us to enter info from any assessment to any member. The cost is relatively cheap as well. It is nice that we are able to have so many categories and quickly be able to search members and view their progress!
CONSThe software can be finicky sometimes. I have entered data and then it not show up in the system several times, which can be frustrating. It is also difficult to get things changed in ETO sometimes, which can set us back in our paperwork process.

Hated it.
We used to use it for our transitional living program, but there was nothing about the features that was helpful. Just a place to put notes. Maybe they have upgraded and made changes since 2019, though. I was very happy to switch to One Step.

CONSunattractive, not intuitive. It did not track anything significant for us and we had to keep a lot of files outside of ETO.

This software allowed our team to keep track of client data.
CONSThis software was not well adapted for the nonprofit capabilities we needed. It seemed extremely outdated and glitchy. Our team ended up switching to a different software.

Easy to use. Very comprehensive
ETO has been a comprehensive platform for our program. We maintain all client data within it.
PROSWhat I like the most is how user friendly it is. One can access areas of the software from multiple screens. It’s web-based which works really well for my team who are usually working in community-based settings.
CONSIt takes some practice to build reports but luckily we have an admin who does this anytime we need to pull data. Existing reports are easy to run and export.

ETO is slow, complicated and frustrating for data entry staff.
Educational Institutions should not use the ETO system. It took almost a year before they put dashes in the phone numbers. They are putting the old comments on the student dashboards and the most recent comments in a separate touch point area. We have to hunt through their touch points for the most recent student information. Their ETO format wastes a great deal of space. ETO has a great sales department, but their data system is worse than the previous data system. I caution any educational facility about getting this system. The staff that has to work with this system, on a daily basis, will spend at least 50% more time maneuvering through their touch point, dashboard and tabs than other systems, with less results. The company promises everything and produces almost nothing of value. A disappointed employee of a company that deserved better.

It's a scam
They told us it would be affordable, easy to use and helpful. It was the opposite of all 3. With every reprot or aspect, they wanted more $$ and the customer service was shockingly low.
