Faith Direct User's Perspective

Doing tax statements is a breeze with this software. I have access to a ton of information about our parish at my fingertips

PROS

This product is easy to use and provides a great source of financial information for our parish.

CONS

Creating my own reports can be somewhat frustrating when I have to toggle between "member" and "family" to get pertinent information. To get the 1 piece of information I need--Active Family- I have to get the Active Member--way more work to delete multiple family members.

Faith Direct helped us increase our offertory!

We have enjoyed a substantial increase and overall consistency in offertory since switching to Faith Direct.

PROS

The software is user-friendly for the customers. We've had very little confusion or questions about registering and maintaining accounts. Faith Direct customer service is good and they work hard to help the organization to keep their eye on increasing usage therefore increasing offertory.

CONS

The reports could be improved. They are not as friendly to the end-user as I would wish. It is hard to extract some of the data that we want to see for statistics.

Faith Direct is ok.

Early on, customer service was not so good. I judged they did not listen, and failed to recognize that the customer could be right. Customer service has gotten better. If not encouraged by the Archdiocese, we likely would not have made the switch from WeShare. Now we stay with Faith Direct because it would be a lot of work and trouble to convey change to parishioners. Faith Direct is “ok” but not a “wow” experience.

PROS

The monthly summaries we receive are easily tied in with our bank statements. Our bookkeeper is a fan.

CONS

• Reports are very limited. • The ability and flexibility to look up or edit parishioners information and giving is limited. • “Weekly” giving means amount is multiplied by 4 or 5, but withdrawn once a month.

Good software for online church giving

Overall my experience has been positive as a user and as an admin. The staff is always helpful and responsive.

PROS

It's easy for the user to set up an account and give automatically and/or pay for events. It's increased our online giving a great deal.

CONS

It's a little buggy. Setting up an event takes several steps and doesn't always save correctly. And every time is saves, you have to click back into the event.

Reasons for switching to Faith Direct

I believe Faith Direct was easier on the user end and incorporated into our database easier.

Faith Direct Online Giving as the Vendor of Choice

Our overall experience with Faith Direct has been very positive. We have been blessed with an amazing support person who has been a great partner during our journey to use Faith Direct and to stretch the limits of the software for our needs, thus prompting improvements and upgrades. We are very pleased with Faith Direct as a software product and with the staff that have been directly involved with our organization for setup, implementation and daily usage.

PROS

The features that have been most impactful to our organization are the ease to sign up parishioners for donations, the ability to setup events and collect fees, and the assistance with monthly promotional verbiage for bulletins and social media. An additional assest to us is the 'tex-to-give'' feature that provides a 'now' giving option for our parishioners and guests to the parish. Finally, the ability to download data from Faith Direct is a file that is readily prepared for upload to other software products within our organization.

CONS

The event set-up module is somewhat clumsy at this time, but it provides the end result we sought. I am aware that an upgrade is on the horizen for next Spring. We are excited to see and use this future upgrade.

Reason for choosing Faith Direct

Faith Direct was selected as the vendor of choice due to many of the features we needed for our organization. We had a wish-list that drove the interview/review process when seeking the perfect vendor fit to St Mary Parish. Faith Direct met the majority of our wish-list needs. They were also the leading vendor in online donations and that history placed them in the top spot in our selection. The other vendors we me with, were not as advanced with the software or at a level that improvements could be implemented in a timely manner. Flexibility was missing in the other vendors, whereby Faith Direct had enough history and experience to have surpassed the other vendors for the advancement of the software product.

Big Fan of Faith Direct

As EFT Donations are so important to the consistent giving for churches, Faith Direct has taken most of the burden off the parish to provide a service that is safe, PCI compliant, always available to both the church and their parishioners through their supurb customer service.

PROS

I am totally in love with Faith Direct. We signed on with Faith Direct at a previous parish when I worked there and just loved it so that when I moved to another parish, we changed to them as well. And when we became a pastorate, we signed the new parish on with Faith Direct. Customer Service is the best I've experienced. They are quick to respond, and always address whatever issues you may have. When I have directed parishioners to call FD, the feedback from them has been great. They are always treated in a friendly, courteous manner. Another nice thing with Faith Direct is that there is no limit to the number of funds people can give to. We include ALL of them for the year, but specify the month. So, parishioners can decide now what they would like to give for the year and the donations would be charged to their card or withdrawn from their bank account in the month that is specified. Text-to-Give is another feature included in their services, at no extra charge. My favorite feature is their annual mailing to the parishioner base, asking if they'd like to adjust their donations, or soliciting new members to enroll in EFT giving. The letters are all handled by them. We are just beginning to use other platforms FD offers for taking Faith Formation registrations and tuition payments. It seems to be going well and we have experienced no problems yet.

CONS

The only Con I can come up with is that when you move to a different EFT provider, you lose donors. This is not Faith Direct's fault, it's just people don't understand you have to register again. They assume everything moves over from the old provider to the new. Faith Direct does a great job sending out reminders, but you cannot count on everyone reading and understanding what they must do. Again, not the fault of Faith Direct.

Even though Give Centrals fees were considerably lower than Faith Direct, when you factored in the services Faith Direct provided, we felt it was worth the extra costs.

L. Baerwolf Faith Direct Review

We are allowing the parishioners in the Diocese of Saginaw to make online gifts to either the Diocese directly or to many other campaigns that we are currently running in Faith Direct. We are bringing in significant additional revenue for the schools, renovation projects, priest retirement and our main Catholic Services Appeal campaign. This has been extremely valuable to us during the months of the pandemic when the churches were closed and people continued to support them through Faith Direct.

PROS

The most impactful thing for our company was giving people the option to donate online on their own. This has been extremely helpful during the pandemic . The system is very easy to use and the integration into our existing systems was quite easy also.

CONS

The only issue or problem that we have had with the software is sometimes people either think they are making a one time gift and really they are making an ongoing gift or vice versa. They sometimes think they are making an ongoing gift but they are actually making a one time gift. I believe that the confusion has less to do with the Faith Direct software and more to do with our own website and how they get into Faith Direct to donate in the first place.

I was not part of the committee that chose Faith Direct so I do not know anything about the cost of the system or who else they looked at.

Positive Change to Faith Direct

Overall the product has been a valuable resource for us in many ways and the customer support has always been very helpful and expedient.

PROS

The ease of use for both staff and parishioners has been great. It has been more utilized during this time of Covid, giving our parishioners a safe and secure way to continue their giving and parishioners have report how easy it is to use. The Text-to-Give feature has been an added benefit especially with one time collections and special collections. The ability to pull a variety of detailed reports is very helpful, especially the projected giving. This has been huge for us during Covid and when preparing budgets.

CONS

The event sign up has been a bit complicated and cumbersome, but I understand they are rolling out a new and improved version.

The versatile reports and the numerous options of how to give was a huge improvement over the previous company. Also, the ability to have event sign ups was a new option for us.

Online Giving for Non Profit Businesses/Churches

I would highly recommend Faith Direct to anyone looking to move to online giving. The customer service is excellent, and we have been please overall with the product and client care.

PROS

The great thing about Faith Direct is the ease in which we can set up new drop down items for our parishioners to donate to as they come up, for example an emergency collection for a hurricane, Covid-19 etc. We were able to sustain our offertory during covid-19 by asking our parishioners to move over to Faith Direct online giving. Many of them did which helped greatly with the financial situation during this difficult time. Approximately 90% of our givers are on Faith Direct.

CONS

At times there are issue with the Capital Campaign reporting features, and the ability to down load reports or upload into Pds. Perhaps more webinars or training available for reporting.

Faith Direct is a lifesaver

Prior to implementing Faith Direct, our administrative staff spent an entire day counting the weekend's collections. In addition, when families went out of town or missed a Sunday for whatever reason, rarely were the donations "made up". Now with Faith Direct, the actual money we must count for the weekend takes only a few hours and our cash flow is much smoother. No longer are our summer collections significantly lower than our average!

PROS

The software is very easy to use both for us and the user, which in our case are our parishioners. Our cash flow is much more even with Faith Direct.

CONS

I wish there was an easier way to see new users, changes to contribution levels and reasons for discontinuing the service.

Faith Direct

The overall experience has been positive and it filled the need to provide an online option for giving. The flat monthly fee is expensive if you do not have a high level of use. The fee has increased but our user numbers have remained relatively stable. Support staff is great.

PROS

The platform is attractive and easy to access, and user sign up is very straightforward. We appreciate the "events" option which we use for RE registration and adult faith and family activity sign ups, and even for our festival raffle ticket purchases. We also used it when Masses resumed during COVID to have people sign up for Mass to make sure we had enough seats available. The ability to set up payments for second collections is also very helpful.

CONS

Reports are not as adequate as we would like. Our finance manager has to calculate fees for each activity in order to charge them to the proper account. It would be nice to have flexibility in creating reports. Some parishioners have not signed up bc of the processing fees we have to pay, and others switched from our EFT option, which had no or very minimal transaction fees, to Faith Direct using a credit card, so some of our costs increased.

Reason for choosing Faith Direct

Hoping for a larger number of participants, we believed that the monthly fee + transaction costs would be less than the higher processing fees charged by other companies. We also wanted to have the "event" feature.

Helpful but Needs Added Features

We're happy with it. It's made a lot of things easier for us, though we are hoping for some updated functions that will make it better.

PROS

It's mostly easy to understand the flow of it. The event/online registration function has been amazing for our religious ed programs.

CONS

It would be nice if it allowed us to log baptisms that took place outside of the United States. We've been told that's just not an option which just seems insane. We would love it if the certificates for sacraments were nicer. They're just very plain. And the mail merge option isn't very intuitive. We've had some problems with that, especially in regards to the mother's maiden name. With online registration, it would be nice if we could get registrations sent to us as an actual registration form, not just a summary with multiple kids on one page.

St Thomas More Parish - Colorado Review

We have overall been pleased with Faith Direct. Customer service is very responsive and helpful. Our parishioners seem to be able to maneuver through the website without any difficulty.

PROS

The Text to Give feature has been a life safer. We use the Event registration quite often. It is easy to access information for our parishioners. Downloads are organized well.

CONS

Pulling information for reports has not been as easy as we would like. Example: We have been trying to keep track of the number of additional members who have signed up since Covid. Customer service has helped us figure out how, though it is not a simple process. Pulling information for analysis is typically not as easy as we would like. Some of our parishioners prefer to donate weekly and don't like that Faith Direct does not provide this option. Providing just two downloads per month does impact our parishioners.

Reasons for switching to Faith Direct

Faith Direct was vetted with the archdiocese and the fees were less, and I believe at the time, we were not charged ACH fees. Also the event registration feature was not offered with the company we were using at the time.

Positive. Customer service is always friendly and quick to help and reply.

PROS

It's very easy to use and downloads into our donation program quickly, accurately and with ease.

CONS

I wish we could turn off credit card options for monthly and weekly donations at all times. Currently we have this option off and new users can only select a bank to have their donations pulled. However, there are times when credit cards are active if we are registering for an event. During that time, new users who are enrolling for monthly or weekly donations can see the option to select a credit card due to it being open for an event.

Faith Direct is easy to use and provides terrific support!

Our overall experience with Faith Direct has been wonderful especially during Covid. Our Faith Direct representative [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is very responsive and has been very helpful with setting up text-to-give for our livestream Masses during Covid when we were not having public Masses and therefore not having collections. She answers our questions very quickly. The Faith Direct Team is very helpful with ideas for getting new donors and setting up new donor and current donor appeals. We like the bi-monthly disbursements.

PROS

I like the ease of navigating through the site to view contributions and specific donors. It is also very easy to import contributions to our Servant Keeper program to record the contributions.

CONS

I understand that donors must make changes to their profiles, but as an administrator, I wish that I could have some ability to change them when a donor is deceased or moves or when a member who isn't as tech savvy needs help with their account.

Faith Direct is a great product.

This year we have been able to convert our religious education registration to a completely online platform using Faith Direct to process registration fees. This has been a great experience and really streamlined our registration process while allowing for a completely contactless transaction.

PROS

Faith Direct is very user friendly, for internal users and our parishioners. It's very simple to look up donor information and make changes if needed.

CONS

I have not done a recent cost comparison but I feel that the cost, especially now during this time of decreased revenue for churches, is a little high.

Sts. Peter and Paul Parish Review

Overall our experience has been fine, customer service is good, and the paperless program has been working fine so far. Perhaps we can become more active in engaging in other services, etc. going forward.

PROS

The ability to provide parishioners with an easy and quick way of giving and planning giving for their Parish. We like that our parishioners have gotten used to Faith Direct's platform since it has been with us for so long.

CONS

In previous months I thought the monthly fee was excessive. Since, we have moved to the paperless program which is more reasonable.

Reason for choosing Faith Direct

Because we were able to get a better price with the paperless program than we had before and because our parishioners were used to it. If not, the other party had a better price, and we have worked with it on other services.

Faith Direct fields a strong team.

My overall experience has been very positive.

PROS

Customer support is reliable. Accurate reports issued on time. I also appreciate campaigns to attract more users and again customer support is easy to work with on these campaigns.

CONS

The biggest challenge is that users can have a range of comfort for using computers. While this is not Faith Direct's fault, I appreciate the continued efforts to make it more user-friendly.

Excellent program and great customer service!

Faith direct has great customer service! They provide us with ways to reach out our parishioners and support us with quick responses and updates. During the closure of our parish, faith direct provided a way for us to continue to support our ministries by sharing ways to promote online giving. This is a great program for our parish.

PROS

Faith Direct's giving program has been great for our parish. Online Giving has increased over 15% during the past few months. The software is user friendly and there are many reports and features that we utilize along with text to give. Our parishioners are very happy with Faith Direct and the different ways to be able to enroll.

CONS

We are very happy with this software. The only suggestion would be for a more simple way to export from faith direct into parishsoft offertory.

We love the event sign-up to sell tickets, for registration for our RE and Confirmation programs.

Faith Direct Review

Our representative has been helpful and courteous. We had a few bumps in the very beginning due to the learning curve, but things are gelling nicely now and we are pleased with the results six months in. Due to COVID and the churches in our area closing for a time, we couldn't do a formal rollout of the Faith Direct platform and got really good results in just an email to parishioners who subscribed to our website. We expect a good number more to enroll when we do a more formal rollout in November.

PROS

Once we figured out how to integrate this software with our software for recording donations, we got just what we hoped for in reducing our back office work. Much less time is spent recording donations and answering donor's questions. Faith Direct also handles any credit card transactions that don't go through. It is easy for our donors to sign up.

CONS

Some of the reports are difficult to work with.

Reason for choosing Faith Direct

After we did our research, we felt Faith Direct offered the best back office support and gave us the best opportunity to engage our donors. We liked that with Faith Direct our donors could choose to pay the 2.5% credit card processing fees that are inevitable and that the monthly fee for Faith Direct would remain constant no matter how many people participate. This was a good incentive to get more people using the Faith Direct platform, which makes it easier to do projections and budgets.

Thank You Faith Direct!

We've had an overall great experience with Faith Direct. The customer service provided to our parish staff and our parishioners has been amazing.

PROS

We love the events module. As well, the export and the compatibility with Parish Soft have made things so much easier.

CONS

The reports aren't as flexible as needed to suit our needs and take too long to load.

Increase in Offertory

PROS

We have seen an increase in our offertory since we have had Faith Direct. Our parishioners do think it is convenient and easy to use. We also use it for fundraisers and registration for Religious Education.

CONS

Setting up fundraisers can be a bit difficult.
