GiveGab is a cloud-based giving management solution designed for small and midsize nonprofits. It offers campaign and event management, contact management, donor management, peer-to-peer fundraising and crowdfunding management functionalities within a suite. An iOS app is available.

GiveGab offers fundraising management, which allows users to design responsive web pages for fundraising using default templates. Users can also manage manual entries for offline donations.

GiveGab also offers donor relationship management, which allows users to manage contacts and communications with the help of customizable outreach campaigns. Users can also manage the registration process for the events using customizable forms and discounts.

GiveGab offers subscription-based pricing and is available in three different pricing plans based on the number of features offered. The vendor offers customers online support via through its website. The product integrates with different business systems, such as MailChimp, Stripe and Heroku.

It's very user friendly. You can duplicate fundraisers from one year to the next, and it's easy to make adjustments.

Cons

The costs seem a little high considering the software is used fundraising for a nonprofit. It was a bit disappointing to see the total amount we spent on the campaign on GiveGab.

User & Administrator friendly

Pros

The support & reference materials made using GiveGab a breeze. Got positive feedback regarding the peer to peer fundraising. PLUS mobile friendly as both administrator and fundraiser.

Cons

There is the ability to download data and massage via excel but adding the option to download "per fundraiser" would be an added feature.

What GiveGab does well, They do exceptionally well. Their online / social media and P2P fundraising functions are not only plug and play, but they also give you the tools to macimize the effectiveness of each campaign and think through best practices.

Cons

Unfortunately, there is little control over accepting volunteer hour entered by a volunteer, entering in kind donations, creating physical mailings to constituents or ticketing an event. A lack of some basic features makes makes the platform a supplement vs a all in one CRM.

Pros

It's ease of use and design on it's home page. There's a lot of great features you can add to make it look nice.

Cons

We have the capability to collect donations through our own website and would prefer to send people there instead of a separate page.

We were able to crowdfundraise online, which was a new tool for our nascent nonprofit. I enjoyed the simplicity of the tool.

Pros

It helped our board (who had never done it before), crowdfundraise with ease. I was very satisfied with the ease of use.

Cons

It was quite a long time ago that I used the service, so it's hard to remember. I do remember that one donor accidentally signed up to make a recurring gift but did not intend to do this. I'm not sure if this was a UX issue or user error. I remember having few issues with the program.

Instructions were clear and answers to questions came quickly. I liked the immediate assistance from a real human being. Plus the ability to send an automatic thank you worked well.

Cons

Nothing stands out as a problem that I can think of in retrospect. Sometimes it took me a bit to find out where to get the info I needed but that really was not a problem.

I appreciate the ease of use and affordability, especially since we don't use it all that often (mostly just for giving days). The pages also look nice and professional and are easy to customize.

Cons

The reporting features aren't as robust as I would like them to be. For instance, it would be great to pull a report of both offline AND GiveGab supporters.

It integrated with the data system we use, e-Tapestry. It's really hard to find products that integrate and aren't incredibly pricey. GiveGab worked very well for us.

Cons

The financial distributions. GiveGab dispersed the funds sparingly, which was very inconvenient and has been for other nonprofits. We would really like to get the funds at a faster pace.

It presents a page on the giving day to assist donors making multiple donations.

Pros

The software platform page for the non-profit is easy to setup with step to step guides. I like the option for the customers to pay the fees.

Cons

The coding and text with fonts were a little hard to navigate. Need to go to the page several times to see then adjust sizes. The fees are a little steep still.

Easy of getting reports. It was chosen by our sponsor- Brooklyn Community Foundation and it was set up well for our use.

Someone was available to answer questions. This is typical of GiveGab. All I have to say is in that first sentence, so why demand more?

Cons

GiveGab was responsive to my numerous questions, but that is the only good thing I have to say about it. GiveGab has a long way to go to provide a clear interface that operates accurately, that is organized in a user-friendly manner, that provides adequate directions to the user, and serves the needs of its clients. I wasted an enormous amount of time trying to create the giving page and the Administrative Dashboard and it still wasn't satisfactory in appearance or in the information it provided or in the way it functioned.

One example: Two portions of it were recorded on "offline donations." When I asked why the rest was not credited, the support staff told me that the match ended before Valley Gives Day began because I had indicated that the match ended on May 1. Well, yes, but normally "ends May 1" means at midnight on that date! (see the nonsense below). She added the rest of the match manually. I expected that the match would be deducted from my credit card or I would be alerted to the fact that it had been met and I should make the contribution, but that never happened. In the end I had to send a check. This whole episode was a total waste of my time, not to mention the support staff

Pros

Its ease of use. I just started in may current position and it was so easy to get used to navigating it. Tech support is really friendly and quick to respond. Working on giving days, events, and general fundraising follows a very similar format.

Cons

I could just be missing this in a menu, but it would be nice to have a 'test mode' to help train staff and volunteers on how registration works. Other than that, no complaints about this software!
