- 3 stars: 6 reviews (5%)
- 2 stars: 3 reviews (3%)

### Most mentioned pros

- This management system has enabled us to collect data seamlessly and has provided the flexibility to customize the platform according to our specific requirements.
- We also found the ability to integrate iMIS with MailChimp and other 3rd party applications very useful.
- We have used it for about 15 years and with each release it gets better and better. Although expensive, it is the only program we have found that can handle the complexity of our organization without choking.

### Most mentioned cons

- iMIS does not currently offer a feature for members to download or access their receipts directly online.
- It can be a little frustrating to have to pay for different modules, on top of the already high licence costs.
- We are currently migrating to their Cloud Platform (called EMS), The desktop version was installed before I started with the association, and many aspects of how it was initially configured were questionable, and, in some instances, very difficult to correct.

We use IMIS as the central plank to our Charity operation, over 2-3 years helping us to double our size and build a membership base of over 100,000. ROI 6-12 months.

IMIS is a great Association Management system with strong inbuilt functionality, designed to do what it says on the tin.. the system has high levels of Integration, acting like a Lego base enabling you to plug in almost any 3rd party systems.

#### Cons

Some of the functionality in the older V17 is clunky, but the new EMS online offer is much cleaner and offers the best in class solution.

It wasn't the best before we went live with iMIS EMS. We always had multiple issues and unresolved support tickets and told that the 'issues' we were having would be resolved when we went live with EMS, but it didn't. The issues were eventually addresses and resolved, but it took several months to address one of our tickets. Support has been better over the last few months though.

The event platform is fairly easy to use and navigate.

#### Cons

The IQA platform. In my opinion, it's not user friendly, and it's difficult to navigate if you're a beginner learner.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

It would've been more expensive to move to another product, and we had other things within our association that took [sensitive content hidden] .

#### Pros

#### Cons

Often the documentation is written from the perspective of those who are too familiar with the system or it does not catch up to real-time changes to the system.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

Liked the displays and functionality of the system

#### Reasons for switching to iMIS

Interested in greater functionality than was available in previous system. We used a consultant to spec out the system, see demos and make a decision.

### Endless capabilities, not the simplest EMS but it does a lot

Members are easily able to manage their membership status, event registrations, company info, contact info. We are able to offer a member experience with members-only content, event registrations based on membership, etc., which has been great in driving retention. We used to be an association that was based almost entirely on events but now about half of our members each year don't attend any events and are here for the other benefits, many of which we make available through members-only content on iMIS. Great responsive website through the iMIS RISE tool.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We did not previously have an AMS in place, we were a "data silo" association with many different buckets of information that needed to be imported/exported on a regular basis. iMIS has been a great piece for us in integrating our membership and event management, automated email marketing, mobile app, LMS, SMS texting and other things. Our membership/event marketing has improved greatly due to this. Our membership has more than doubled over the past six years and we would have had to add staff members if we didn't have this in place.

#### Cons

iMIS isn't the easiest system to configure, we have a consultant to deal with the implementation and setup. Some of the features like the built in email marketing aren't the greatest, we integrated with Informz instead of using the iMIS email (iMIS/Informz integration has been GREAT, but extra cost). Integrations and possibilities with iMIS are basically unlimited, but each has its own cost. With that said, we are doing a lot for our members that we didn't do prior to implementing iMIS.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

Every other system we considered, eventually a key question was answered "we can't do that" or "it doesn't work that way". With iMIS we could make every business rule work the way we needed it to.

### Customizable and Powerful

I've worked with iMIS for 13 years, and I'm very excited about iMIS Cloud and the improvements and additions that come with it. I'm able to customize what staff sees depending on their role, hiding information they don't need. The newest reporting tool is exciting, as is the new form builder. We're able to integrate tradeshow, LMS, and app software into iMIS, which allows us to streamline business across the association. The learning subscription and performance improvement program have been worthwhile for us as well. Highly recommend.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I've enjoyed working with iMIS for 13 years. Once you learn the system it's highly customizable and can handle pretty much anything you need it to. There are many experiential upgrades with the new iMIS Cloud version that create a simpler interface with better design options and functionality for staff.

#### Cons

I've found the learning curve to be a little steep with new users. The benefits of a powerful system that handles a ton of data work against light users who don't need and have trouble sifting through all of that data. I have staff that don't like using the system and avoid it whenever possible because they have trouble learning it well.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

iMIS gave us the right combination of affordability and functionality.

From the date the agreement was signed until we were live was just under 90 days. Overall, very pleased and am glad we switched to iMIS. We have integrated with a conference app that has two way API, making my life that much easier.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Ease of use, great customer support, ability to create customized reports, integrating reports into our website, excellent - excellent online training on how to use the software.

#### Cons

The worksheet used for data conversion was difficult to understand - but the implementation team was very helpful. Also, some of the RISE templates had default settings that needed to be changed that I didn't realize until after we were live, but again, support was quickly able to pinpoint the issue so it could be corrected.

#### Reasons for switching to iMIS

Wanted Responsive web design, ability to integrate with a conference app, and a host of other reasons.

#### Pros

If we're willing to pay a consultant to help us set it up, the possibilities for features and functions are huge.

#### Cons

Functions are unreliable. The iMIS Cloud version is still in it's first couple years and there are still many bugs being worked out. Billing, even "AutoPay" is heavily manual on the staff side. For a small staff, iMIS just is not manageable.

#### Reasons for switching to iMIS

We were growing and thought we would have more functions available to us in iMIS.

#### Pros

A single source of truth for our member data as well as the ability to build a website but to continually update and improve the site.

#### Cons

Not really any cons, you just need to learn to drive iMIS to work for you, we are in our 3rd year of use and 99% of our daily use is done within our own team with the odd support request for assistance.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

iMIS provided more functionality and with Salesforce it was difficult to nail down how much the project would cost, there was greater visibility on costs with iMIS.

iMIS is a great place to store our member files, though we've only used it once, using it to register for an event is a great way to ensure individuals register for the correct registration type. #### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5

#### Pros

iMIS is build to meet the needs of changing technology. When new technologies come along you don't have to start all over again. There is a large body of third party providers to tie into any additional systems you need and they have an outstanding "independent" user group that is extremely helpful.

#### Cons

Learning the reporting system can be time consuming at first but as you get familiar with it that too is a very powerful system that lets you get whatever information out of your system that you need.

#### Reasons for choosing iMIS

Long term vision of ASI to allow customers to upgrade to new technologies, strong "independent" user group, large customer base and extensive third party development partners.

### Complex software that in the right hands can provide very rich data and information.

- Reviewer: Greg W.
- Product usage: Used daily for more than 2 years

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Extremely customizable software solution with hundreds of data fields and related tables. The user support network is friendly and very welcoming. The National user group offers extensive training options. The reseller network is robust. Once you figure out your standard operating procedures, it works very well. There are a lot of standard web site templates and integrating the database to websites gives the ability to provide very highly unique experiences to highly segmented audiences.

#### Cons

Requires advanced knowledge of databases and SQL reporting. Be prepared to have consultants do much of the maintenance work. To get the web sites working very well, requires knowledge of a proprietary CMS. Finding job candidates with experience using the software can be a challenge and training costs will be higher for that.

We are in a long financial relationship with iMIS and have no way to simply get out but it does what we need with a bit of help from ISG.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

This is a very tough question for me for several reasons. One is that I have no experience with any other product. Two is that at one point when E-Series failed to live up to expectations we brought in ISGWeb to do many of the functions that I like the most. Three we have not transitioned to rISE yet.

#### Cons

The cost, now I do not know how much other software is in relation to what we get for our money but It seems pretty expensive to do anything and the license fees are high.

We appreciate that is more robust than our previous system allowing to capture and track additional important data points, as well as keep relationships that we could not keep prior to switching. Although we are not a typical association, we've been able to adapt the system easily for our needs.

#### Cons

We find that the documentation available can be slight and it feels sometimes like the user end was not considered when doing upgrades. The transition to the staff site has also been difficult as all labels and naming have changed.

iMIS is a one-stop shop for a membership-based organization. Lots of bells and whistles and good educational support to learn all those bells and whistles.

iMIS has been around for a long time, and as the company aims to make all functions browser-based, many of its old interface (desktop) remain necessary as they have yet to be adapted in a reliable way to browsers. We're not ready to let go of the desktop and won't be for a while.
