NetForum Enterprise for the Fundraising Client
We are a large, data-heavy, and highly customized enterprise client and have been satisfied with NetForum. There have been points where the system had performance issues because of the load of our data. However, the folks at Community Brands have always worked with us to resolve any issues we have experienced.
PROSUse of SQL to create a logical and extremely robust structure Ease of adding extender tables and use of form designer Excellence of Client Services, Support, and Upgrade teams
CONSCan require significant customization in the Fundraising and Moves Management Modules, especially if you have restrictions on your funds
Reason for choosing NetForum Enterprise
We chose NetForum because it was robust enough and flexible enough to allow us to customize as needed for our fundraising business model and data needs.
Reasons for switching to NetForum Enterprise
The previous CRM did not allow us full access to our data and was not robust enough to handle the volume of our data.

netForum is a good tool
netForum on the whole is a good tool, the credentialing module on the other hand is junk.
PROSWorks as advertised, and is a robust AMS, it's severely lacking in the Credentialing space.
CONSWhere the problem lies is with the vendor that built the module. They are horrendous, they lack any comprehensive test methodology or business analysis. They build new credentials for us and upon launch it breaks things upstream with existing credentials, and then they want to bill us to fix what they broke. Community Brands needs to manage their VARs better and hold them to a higher standard. The current vendor for the Credentialing module is terrible.

NetForum Enterprise
Overall, I believe this product is a robust, one-stop solution for small to mid-size associations. We have used it for the past 10 years, and
PROSFor a small association like ours, NetForum Enterprise has all the features and functions we could possibly need. It is relatively easy to use, has inbuilt AR functionality, Exhibit, Awards and Advertising management functionality. It also has the capability to be integrated with other systems using xWeb, which we have used quite extensively. We also have used the eWeb functionality and have 2 customer facing sites.
CONSUpgrades have been a hurdle in the past, which is why we are still on an older version. The API we use is still SOAP based, at least on our version, there is very limited RESTful capability. It could also be more intuitive and expanded. The Sales module provided could have more functionality. We had to move to Salesforce to manage our Sales pipeline and other lead generating functionality, something that could easily be improved in NetForum. The CMS could be improved and more user friendly and intuitive The staff facing (iweb) interface could be a bit more user friendly and modern (We are on an older version - so some of the cons might already have been addressed)
Reason for choosing NetForum Enterprise
I believe NetForum had all the functionality of multiple systems we used at the time.
Reasons for switching to NetForum Enterprise
It happened before my time so I am not sure.

The database model is superior to others that I have seen, making it easy to expand and customize. The UI model is under continuous improvement.
CONSThere are sometimes roadblocks for conducting fairly standard procedures based on the association industry. Bugs are not always addressed in a timely manner.

NetForum review
It's hard to know if NetForum wasn't configured for my company properly or if it just doesn't do what we need it to do. I like it from the standpoint of it's pretty easy to navigate on a basic level if you've never used it. You can search for individuals using multiple options such as Member ID, phone, last name which makes it helpful if you only have one piece of the individuals information. I also appreciate that it's sticky and remembers what I've previously searched for.
CONSI wish the reporting was better more automated. I wish we could make notes within the organization itself or add notes to member records as my organization uses NetForum accross multiple departments and I feel there's more opportunity to build this out in a way that various groups could see recent activity with a member or organization easily.

Much Better Systems out there
It started out very well. With each merger or sale they got away from supporting the end user more and more until there was no support.
PROSVery robust, includes everthing you need and much, much more.
CONSVery complicated and poorly supported. When you leave a message with technical support it takes days for them to get back to you if they call at all.
Reason for choosing NetForum Enterprise
I wasn't employed here when it was selected.
Reasons for switching to NetForum Enterprise
Because of the reasons stated above

Needs work
I'm more likely to recommend this to a friend instead of YourMembership because of the steller customer service provided.
PROSEasy to add members to the system; easy to make payments; easily used for a trade organization.
CONSReports are hard to pull---there is no report to simply show who has paid and who has not paid. Events can be a challenge to set-up if need detailed information. Again, can be hard to pull a report with good data for an event too.

Very challenging to use and frustrating tool
There's not much positive to say about this tool, it has loads of modules and functions.
CONSIt is the most frustrating program I've worked with. Nothing in it makes sense, it's not intuitive, it doesn't work properly, and often has bugs.

Just OK for an AMS
It's pretty easy to use for most of the staff and updating information such as member dues, committee assignments, etc. are pretty simple. It can also be used for basic event management, which we take advantage of, but it's very simple.
CONSI think it's a very basic AMS that lacks some of the complexities and capabilities of larger AMS like MemberClicks and Personify. I'd suggest this for smaller association, but if you have a large association that needs a lot of different modules and capabilities, I wouldn't recommend this software.

Beginner AMS
Netforum was good for small, uncomplicated events and small memberships. It was easy to use and integrated well with our website.
PROSEasy to use, simple, but powerful software for membership and event/store management.
CONSThe most basic version of Netforum lacks many features that are important for everyday use.
