Falling in love with NFG
I just love how I can rely on a system that helps me connect with my donors, making so much of my work easier and giving me time to focus on what I need to.
PROSthe integration of so many features that allows you to connect several services in one place. I'm using less and less other services for contacting donors, events, donations, and using just the Network for Good donation management system. I also like the customer service available. It's great to have a team helping you through all the craziness of fundraising. I also like how NFG is constantly incorporating new technology in their system.
CONSI wish some features would give me more customization options. Like, donation pages, forms, and direct mail, but I can perfectly work with all the available features.

Maintaining donor data accuracy is now so, so easy! No more manual updates of spreadsheets. Anyone on the team with authorization can access and manipulate data...knowing now we are all looking at the same data! Ability to filter data to create reports is fantastic compared to our previous labor intensive manual efforts. A Few keystrokes and wa'la'...its done.
PROSWe went from excel spreadsheet to automated donor management 'overnight'....very easy data upload, easy to learn how to manipulate , plenty of 'on-boarding' assistance and instruction, and an excellent catalogue of 'self help' knowledge tools.
CONSPayment processing is limited to Network for Good's own system...would like to see them incorporate PayPal (or other payment processor) to offer prospective donors additional payment processing gateways. (They tell me they are looking at it.)
Reason for choosing Network for Good
We were looking specifically for donor management, fund-raising tools and communication tools....NFG gave us what we were looking for, rather than a 'full up' CRM. Also, NFE sales force took the extra steps to provide multiple briefings to our team, leadership and Board Members to answer all our questions, provide demonstrations, etc.
Vendor Response
Hi Barry, Thanks for reviewing us! Wow - we're so excited to hear about how you have been able to quickly automate your donor management as a result of our fundraising software. We understand the value of easy-to-use, real-time data and appreciate your feedback on our payment processors. It means a lot that you've taken the time to review us. These comments help us continually improve! Please continue to reach out to our support team (via phone, email, or in-app messenger) with any questions and feedback :) Kathleen

Please consider other donor software!
Terrible! After less than a year, they are taking away a key feature of their platform (event ticketing) and making it an additional $2000 (!!!!!) to have. This is a 55% increase in cost despite it being a service I was told I would have when I signed up. Despite multiple complaints from almost all their clients, no one at the company will take responsibility for the decision or admit the error and not do it. I am having to switch to another platform immediately as that is a cost that small or medium size nonprofits (their target audience) cannot support. Their customer service uses platitudes ("I understand your frustration") rather than solutions. Even if they realize how unethical this is and how it damages our ability to fulfill our mission, I cannot trust them because what's next? Will they start charging thousands for emails next? Who knows, they cannot be trusted even though I have a signed contract stating this is a service I am guaranteed to have, they will not honor it. Please go with any other donor management software!!
PROSIt's easy to use and when I started with it, it combined all the features I need in one place - peer to peer, event management, ticketing, etc., and at a reasonable rate.
CONSThere are many features that need to be improved. Their help articles are often out of date and do not follow the current version of the software with the steps that need to be taken. The compatibility of auctions to donor records is terrible creating multiple duplicate entries that staff had to correct. They not only charge a flat rate for services but ALSO a percentage so there are a LOT of hidden costs. They do not have a way to track volunteer hours (essential in the nonprofit world!!) and their customer service, while responsive, resorts to platitudes rather than solutions.
Vendor Response
Kendra, Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like you were really enjoying your software until these changes were implemented - I'm sorry to hear that and we would love to get things back on track. This change was meant to make your experience better and add a lot of value to your events run through Network for Good but we understand the concerns. Pricing changes aren't something we do often and with the costs you shared, I think we should connect to make sure you understand any new fees - it may be less than you expect. With the changes going on at Network for Good, we are listening to your feedback earnestly. Your trust is unequivocally important to us. Can you please email me so I can set up a conversation with you and a member of our team? kathleen.connelly@networkforgood.com We take pride in being very transparent about our fees - if you can email me, I would appreciate to hear which fees you were surprised about. We really appreciate you taking the time to review us! Kathleen

Pros and Cons for a Small Nonprofit
I am overall very happy with our use of NFG for our DMS.
PROSThe system is very intuitive and easy to learn and subsequently use. It was a great next step for our organization in terms of adopting a DMS that went above an beyond a very simple system that ultimately dealt in spreadsheets. We love to use the video feature and often use the built-in communications platforms for easy communication with our donors. Generally, I am pleased with the filtering options and functionality, although there are some pieces to that the I would like to see changed or added. It is great to have the option to export and import data with ease
CONSI have had ongoing issues with the direct mail feature. Despite several chats with the support team and attempts to edit the original templates to our direct mail letters, I continue to have issues with the formatting. It would also be ideal to be able to export the letters to both Word and PDF so that edits could be made via Word when those edits are not possible in NFG.As well, it would be great to be able to add attachments to gift entries. For example, when a donor makes a gift via check, I would like to be able to attach the scan of the check and the scan of the signed acknowledgement letter. An additional feature that would be extremely helpful would be to filter on pledges and tasks. This would be incredibly helpful when pulling reports for our Development Committee and Board. Finally, and this is minor, it would be helpful to have the ability to search within the filter field - in other words, instead of scrolling through the drop down list to find a category to filter on (i.e. donation date, address, etc), it would be possible to search the list from the top by typing in the field I am looking for.
Reason for choosing Network for Good
Ultimately it was the opportunity through Robins Foundation to participate in JumpStart and a yearlong paid subscription. However, I have used several databases in my development work and prior to signing up for the program, I did a tutorial of the software and was happy with the functionality.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
Because we were offered the opportunity to participate in the JumpStart program through a local foundation's grant, and a yearlong paid subscription to NFG. We were using a very rudimentary system before and actively looking for a new DMS. This opportunity came at the perfect time and NFG was a good fit for what we were looking for.

NFG has changed the landscape for our fundraising!
It has been a positive transition and I do not regret moving over to this platform and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade their fundraising platform.
PROSI love that it is a one-stop shop. I can email and manage a newsletter, run a fundraising campaign, do peer-to-peer fundraising, manage monthly donors, send and track thank you and donor engagement, and so much more.
CONSLearning something new takes time and as a human being I want everything NOW. I have had to take time to learn the system and I am still learning.
Reason for choosing Network for Good
I thought NFG had everything I was looking for and knew that the organization would grow into the product. It had all the bells and whistles we were looking for and it was a no brainer decision.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
I needed a more sophisticated program to do all the things and up-level our fundraising and donor management. Donors are everything and they are why the mission exists and so taking care of donors who love the organization is so incredibly important. Relationship building is everything.

Bells and Whistles you can actually use
We're just getting started, but I am delighted with the product and the support. I expect this to be a very active tool in our arsenal as we get better and better at using its capabilities.
PROSWe were looking for an obvious format that could be learned quickly and easily shared among data input staff. Just as important, we wanted the capability to track donations and use the data to build our donor base, without so much detail and structure that we never used the reports. NFG is giving us our wish. We were also very much sold on the additional capabilities of email blasts and texting service. But the clincher has been the start up service and follow up we received. When I was too busy to focus on a new software, your customer service staff poked me and kept me going. When I got mixed up in data import, your customer staff sorted it out. And when I needed a little hand holding on a problem, your customer service staff came to my rescue and followed up and followed up. I am comfortable that we did not just purchase a subscription, we joined a team.
CONSWe have a lot of uses for email blasts, and the functionality is a little clunky. I can get it done, but the design function needs more refining.
Reason for choosing Network for Good
The pricing was consistent with what I needed, and the capabilities went beyond what I had planned.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
We were never able to fully use the eTapestry software due to its complexity and the fact that we just didn't think like the software designer. It became too much work to input the data when we knew it was not functional to get back out what we wanted.

Fantastic for Nonprofits
It's been a really positive experience. The customer service is quick and friendly. They're constantly updating the software for the better. It's really easy to use, even for the least tech-savvy people.
PROSThe CRM works really well -- it's easy to keep track of donors, real-time donations, and events. It lets you stay in contact with donors and see their patterns of giving. It's also easy to see which events brought in the most donations, and lets you easily email groups of donors, either by event or by giving patterns.
CONSThe forms (surveys) are too limited. I can't collect data in the way I want, so it makes surveying donors difficult.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
Network For Good had more integrated features, had better customer service, and was less expensive.

We love Network for Good!
This is a relatively inexpensive product compared to similar platforms on the market. It was easy to import data from what we were using previously, and is user-friendly overall. Setting up campaigns, and even event pages, is very simple & intuitive. So far, so good!
CONSSometimes the filters can be confusing because there are so many options to choose from.

Network for Good is a must for start up nonprofits
Network for Good has a platform that encompasses all of a small nonprofit's needs. It is fast and easy to implement. The customer service team is stellar and there for you each step of the way. I regularly receive check-in calls from real people, not an online survey call. We have a small team of volunteers and this is helping us reach more people more effectively without duplicating our efforts.
CONSCompared to other programs we have tried, Network for Good, has been the most intuitive and easy to implement. Working through the groups and being able to create a way to identify our donors from our beneficiaries has been the most challenging part. We have a unique set of circumstances due to the nature of working with people who may have legal guardians we need to address in addition to themselves.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
We needed one platform that did it all and our funds would be quickly deposited. It was cumbersome and time-consuming to have two platforms that needed to be manually synchronized and donations manually swept into our accounts.

Great Product! Don't know what we'd do without Network for Good!!
Our overall experience with Network for Good has been wonderful! When looking at a new donor management system we compared several platforms and are very happy we went with Network for Good!
PROSThe one feature that has completely boosted our fundraising are the Donor Engagement Plans that Network for Good has to offer. This has been a huge help to us in the past year! Especially not being able to do in person events. It has definitely boosted our online giving by at least 10%!! Love how simple and easy the platform is to navigate and use. They offer lots of flexibility in creating communication messages with donors.
CONSThe only con I can think of is that you cannot automatically setup ACH donations to be processed through Network for Good. We have a handful of monthly donors who give through Direct Deposit.
Reason for choosing Network for Good
It looked to be the best product for the price. It offered everything we were looking for at an affordable price! Also, they were very great to work with in the beginning, showing us our options and how Network for Good would work for our organization.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
Our previous system just not do all we needed it to do.

From Rookie to Professional during a pandemic!
When we signed on with NFG, I had no Donor Management Software experience. I was the definition of a Rookie! In addition, our organization was small, but growing rapidly, and the donor records were not in the best order when I joined the staff. The task to get it all organized and ready to upload in the system was the hardest part, but the NFG team was encouraging and helpful. Our initial contact list was pretty small, but it has more than doubled in a year! Our fundraising coach was amazing from the beginning! She was patient, encouraging, held me accountable, and was so dedicated to our success! In between our meetings, I would participate in webinars to expand my knowledge of the software and new fundraising strategies during a worldwide pandemic! When I look at all that we have learned and how far we have come in a year, I am in awe and full of gratitude and appreciation for the Network for Good team! I can say with confidence I am no longer a "Rookie," but consider myself a professional, ready and eager to learn more! I smile thinking about where we will be at this time next year because I know the Network for Good team will continue to coach and encourage us on towards excellence in the fundraising field! Thank you for having faith in us and for continuing to develop strong, confident fundraising leaders, even in the midst of the uncertainty, challenge and difficulty our country and world has faced this year.
PROSFirst and foremost, we love the customer service and support team! They make you feel at ease from the start and they walk you through the entire process. We love the webinars, resource library, video message feature, built in email system and the text-to-give feature. The task bar keeps you on track and the Activity feed allows you to see what your team has been working on if you need a quick reference.
CONSBecause there are so many features, sometimes I forget how to navigate to something. This is more due to my "Rookie" status, than the software.
Reason for choosing Network for Good
We love the built in email system and the video feature! We also like the customer service!

Greatly disappointed
We regret switching to Network for Good and are in search of a replacement.
PROSHaving email and text messaging integrated with the donor management function is very helpful.
CONSThere are a lot of features lacking, and they are not receptive to feedback/requests for improvements or changes. The reporting customization options leave a lot to be desired in comparison to our previous system. Many things that seem like they should be easy to automate must be done manually. They accept PayPal, and they offer no way to charge donor cards. Constituent addresses are automatically shortened (e.g.: Street becomes St), which creates a lot of extra work when generating a mailing where we want addresses fully spelled out on the envelope. Peer-to-peer fundraising is clunky and siloed in a different place than other donations, making reporting difficult.
Reasons for switching to Network for Good
We wanted email and text messaging to be integrated with donor management, but we are strongly considering switching back to Neon because everything else worked better under that system.
Vendor Response
Hi Kate, Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to hear that you are finding our all-in-one communications tools useful for building relationships with your donors. I'm passing this along to our product team who are always looking for ways to improve our reporting and giving tools.
