We use the free version in our small school and it works great!

The SignUpGenius is instrumental in our schools success of always having a teacher/administrator at each of our events. Thoughout our school year it is easy to forget something we had signed up to help with and that means that the students will suffer. With SignUpGenius we sign up for dates and it will email us reminders. Also you can go in and look at the calendar in case something comes up and you can change availability dates (If its not too close to the sign up date). It's also all in one spot.

Sometimes things come up last minute and you can't change you dates. But other than that it works like it should and we have very few scheduling problems/headaches.

The ease of navigating the website for fundraisers , meal trains and volunteer opportunities .

Sometimes it doesn’t update live time. So if two people are navigating the sign up , it won’t show right away that someone already signed up. However it’s not a huge deal, It’s still worth it .

I’ve used SignUpGenius for a multitude of events for at least the past five years. I have had large conflicts due to administrators not cross examining how information is displayed once the link is live. I want SignUpGenius to grow because as a free platform people are very familiar and connected to it. I would love to mainly use SignUpGenius for most events and coordination with groups, but it’s simply not a professional enough environment, yet.

People are familiar with the platform and feel comfortable navigating it compared to other products. Also it’s easily accessible by both mobile devices and computers. There is also some customization.

The platform is sub-par in it’s ability to collate contact information or mass communicate. Using the platform at a business level is considered unprofessional due to appearance within the platform and lack of features

I love how easy SignUpGenius is to use! It's only a few easy steps and made the process of signing up for something easy.

I found it to be slightly inconvenient when not all sign up choices were on the same page. I have definitely missed potential options/choices because I had to click an arrow to another page that I missed.

This product to very easy to use. Especially when you are planning an event it’s very helpful. You can ask attendees if they can volunteer to help or bring an item.

When looking for a powerful and flexible tool for managing signups for a small organization, there is no competitor out there that beats SignUpGenius. We have used other tools and tried ones that offered the moon but failed to deliver. SUG has been capable at its core competency and allowed us to drive and find ways to use it more fully and successfully. Reliable compared to other systems, it does take some time to learn if you truly want to be an expert at it - as does any system, but it is worth the time spent.

We use SUG for such a variety of volunteer and meeting/appointment management we have probably explored most of the features to their fullest. The flexibility to adapt the various types of signups used for different types of opportunities and extending the signups using forms and notifications is powerful. The service can handle a pretty heavy load as we've pounded it with over a hundred signups in under five minutes for things like Parent-Teacher Conferences.

The few types of signups you have available are powerful but not necessarily intuitive and you have to think about how you want the signup to look like and how the signup will flow for the user, leading to some trial and error when you first begin. The requirement for time slots to have a start and end time, makes it tricky to use for items that are just at a particular time, like dropping off items for a bake-sale, but other open ended signups don't read right. Particularly because our primary type of signup is time-slots, it took us a bit to get used to and understand the process of creating the day and time on which something is occurring, then add the slot that is happening at that date and time. The recent updates attempted to combine the pages on which those two steps occur, but make it even harder to intuit out how to attach the two items together.

It is solving business problems like knowing who and what tasks are assigned to individuals when we are seeking volunteers for programs and events.

I liked that you can create categories for others to sign up and you can see where you signed up, in case yo forgot what you signed up for.

It wasn't the software, but some users do not know how to create categories so it makes it difficult for individuals to sign up for various tasks, Perhaps, examples of how people can use it might be helpful to those that are building sign up tasks.

We've started using sign up genius for almost all of our volunteer events, staff events and community collections/drives. It makes it so easy to know what still needs to be collected or staffed. I love that it automatically sends reminders to people about what commitments they have made so that I don't have to manually send those any longer. Generally, its very easy to use and super friendly for the end user.

I love how simple this is for an administrator but also the end user. I've never had anyone say they couldn't figure out how/what to do. I also appreciate that the users can alter their own sign ups for the items or people they are committing to an event. Plus being able to copy events or sign ups over from year to year makes the planning & implementation process quick.

I think that the ads and the limited themes are understandable but annoying. Also, there are some set up limitations that can make more complex events cumbersome to set up. Plus if you have to make changes once you go-live, it can be prohibitive.

I will continue to use it because it is convenient and a tested and true method that people do use it in my organization. Plus, it has become somewhat of a household name in our school to see signup genius come to their inbox.

There are flexible options as well as multiple options when using this tool for creating sign ups. I use it a lot for so many event sign ups for my school and classroom community. I love that it also lets you sign up easily but also sends reminders if people chose to input their emails, etc.

Some of the scheduling slots are confusing, it is still not clear, even with the update.

I love SignupGenius. It is intuitive and easy to use. The platform is always updating and adding new themes to utilize. The price for a premium account is exceptional and the implementations are exactly what we need. The free version offers all the basic uses and the premium paid for account allows users to create sheets without ads. I highly recommend taking a look at this platform.

Operating a crisis text line it is imperative to find a way to schedule volunteers to operate the line during specific time frames. We looked high and low at several different scheduling platforms that would allow volunteers to sign up for the shifts that they are available for. Signup Genius had everything that we were looking for and with its intuitive and easy to use interface we were able to create a signup sheet for each month with the time slots needed to be filled. Another huge and unforeseen implementation was the fact that volunteers do not need to apply or register on the site to sign up.

Honestly I have yet to find anything that I dislike about the product. It does exactly what it says that it does. There are more positives for the product than there are negatives. Off the top of my head I cannot think of anything negative or things that I like least about the software. In the three plus years that we have been utilizing the platform it has performed amazing for us.

Overall, I am grateful for the ability to use SignUpGenius to organize contributions, coordinate schedules, remind participants of their agreements and responsibilities, and take most of the pain out of herding cats, or fulfilling the many roles outside of a classroom that a teacher has.

I first used SignUpGenius as a PTA president when my children were young. We discovered the site and implemented it for volunteer sign up at various events. At first, many were reluctant to try something new, but as they used it, they realized how convenient it truly is. Over the next few years, organizations rolled it out more and more, and now I regularly receive invitations to participate in projects as a donor or volunteer with SignUpGenius. As a teacher, I have even used it to schedule intervention sessions. I was able to indicate all of my open availability and then allow teachers to select slots for their students. It saved us hours or back-and-forth conversation and the reminders that are built into the software were helpful for ensuring that students would actually be sent to me for their meetings, which was a great improvement.

I feel like at some point the software became very ad-heavy, and that makes it unusable for participants. It's necessary to keep providing the service at free or low cost, but it can be nervewracking wondering if the next announcement aligns with district policies. Other than disabling ads for educators, I'm not sure how that could be worked out and still be reasonable for the company.

I use signup genius on a weekly basis to manage students to sign up for lessons and also for volunteer tutors to choose times they would like to volunteer in. Signup genius is incredibly easy to use as it is very user friendly. The features are self explanatory. Those who are not familiar with this software would be able to figure out how to use it relatively easily. After using signup genius I find that planning for lessons is a lot easier as it is an easy and efficient way to gather the information (volunteer times in my case). I have also used signup genius to sign up for volunteering times. It is very simple and easy to use! Therefore, on both a planning and user's perspective this software is very well made and easy to use. No previous knowledge required and setting up a volunteering time page does not take long.

I don't have anything negative to say about signup genius. I've always really liked using signup genius. One thing would maybe for the designers of the website to look into the aesthetics of the website. ONLY a suggestion.

Really great for organizing groups. For instance, I use it often to have people sign up to bring items to an event. It's also great if you have an event and want to sign people up to be in charge of specific things at specific times during an event. For instance, if you want someone to man a table for a specific shift. It is very easy for the participant to sign up and the organizer to manage.

It can be time consuming to get all the email addresses into the software. It doesn't sync easily with a contact group in google, so you end up typing in a lot of email addresses. Once it's set up though, it works great.

I really enjoy the site, it updates quick and allows us to make changes quickly. I enjoy that I can upload documents, although it can be a mission, the documents are there for peoples reference if it all doesn't fit on the main page. I am pleased with the product and will continue our monthly subscription!

I really enjoy that it allows you to have multiple sign ups at the same time. We are a school that uses it daily to track multiple events and special classes. We enjoy that there is some customization that allows us to have it match our brand. It also sends notifications to my email so I am aware of who signs up for classes. I never miss a beat when it comes to attendance and who to expect because of that.

It can be very difficult to learn at the start and times out pretty quickly. It took me a few times to figure out the best way to add multiple dates and times at once before it times out and having to do it all over again. I would also suggest that it be easier to upload documents.

This is such a magical solution! I manage multiple events and volunteers. By having this platform, I can direct people to it instantly via social media, print, email, etc. It enables me to inform, ask, and manage items, people, and communication for activities! The response is about 75% within the first 24 hours and by re-sending/directing people with reminders back to the page, I've seen 95% consistently of all my slots filled before my event. This removes the need for me to call and ask individuals and allows people to feel like they have a choice to sign-up as opposed to feeling pressured to volunteer with a personal ask. Win/Win!

Very turnkey and easy to put together! This program enables techies and novices to create a marketplace to capture and manage sign-ups for events and activities. I really like the templates from which one can choose to best advertise and brand events.

Some of the options under "available slot" can be confusing. It may take a few extra minutes to figure out if the option chosen is best for the process of coordination between organizer and those signing up. It is easy to go back after previewing the page and edit. Also, be careful when signing up for multiple people and multiple slots so that appropriate units are assigned. ie. Jo signs up for 24 Bananas but it appears Jo is only bringing 1 of the 24 bananas. Be sure units are designated and products/slots are clearly labeled.

I use SignUpGenius mainly for school events. I am on our school's PFC/PTA, so we send out A LOT of requests for sign up help. We have many events each school year, and the Genius is the way to go to get things organized. It's just really easy for volunteers to use- they can easily see what is needed, sign up for it...DONE! And for me, and the people creating sign ups, it is just so easy. I can get email notifications when a new volunteer has signed up, I can email people straight from the site, it's an easy way to manage an event.

Several free layouts to use, and so many options!! You can also upload your own photo, so it looks more 'personalized', even without paying more (we just use the free option!) . Easy to customize for your specific event/sign up. And it's so quick and easy to get your site out to everyone. You can either email directly from your sign up (by entering email addresses) or you can just copy/paste the URL and make it public if you want to reach a wider audience! And on an Administrative side-- there are tools, and reports and graphs. You can see how many people have viewed your sign up, lists that can be printed... it is very comprehensive!

I have used SignUpGenius for a plethora of things like scheduling meetings to scheduling shifts for volunteer work. It really is easy to use and there is no learning curve. For those who like using Google, I think this is a better alternative, honestly.

SignUpGenius is practically foolproof when it comes to using. It makes scheduling things really easy and allows other people to see slots that are already filled up. The transparency of this site is definitely its best feature.

The only complaint I have about SignUpGenius, and this is just me being picky, is the fact that you have to login to use it anytime someone sends a schedule out. However, this could actually be quite the positive aspect because it allows you to keep track of your scheduled appointments/meetings. With that said, I suppose there aren't any "real" cons.
