Pros/Cons
Pros
- I love the ease of being able to work with applicants and evaluators in an easy way. Communication, documentation, and management is easy through SmarterSelect's software.
- Customer support is responsive and have gone through great lengths to identify issues and stress-test solutions, which is again greatly appreciated.
- This software offers a lot of great options and is easy to use. Customer Support is excellent and willing to help with any questions within a very timely manner.
Cons
- The software is somewhat confusing and there seems to be glitches in the system.
- I've had an issue with the reminder emails being sent directly to the spam folder but this may just be for our company.
- My applicants seem to have a problem when I give them a link to a new app.
Pros
- It became a delight because the interface is very use friendly and I started to explore more, and I was in for pleasant surprises.
- Tracking the progress of my submissions is amazing. Everything is there and I don't have to chart it on a separate document.
- It's all very well thought out and makes collection and responding to submissions of any kind super easy. The ability to collect payment for contests or other submissions is also invaluable.
Cons
- Submitable kept us from loosing our minds. Before using this product we often lost submissions, relying on our editors own, made up, system.
- I feel a little "blind" when sending out ACCEPT/DECLINE. Not sure what the solution is, however, and really does not present any real trouble for me.
- I use a pen name myself, and the absence of this feature has caused me some trouble.
