ThankView is a core tool in our annual giving plan!

Working with the ThankView team has been a treat! They are always working with us on how to use and optimize the platform in new ways. I would highly recommend as part of your stewardship and solicitation plan!

PROS

We use ThankView for our annual fund thank yous and other special campaigns. What I like most is how easy it easy to use! You are easily walked through the steps to launch your video campaign, and that makes it so easy to start/continuing using this product. I also love that the software comes with an amazing account/support team!

CONS

Nothing comes to mind honestly! It's been a seamless process learning and using this platform.

ThankView helped elevate our outreach to donors!

We're getting face to face with donors at a time when in-person visits aren't possible. The response has been very positive from folks who missed the warm fuzzy feelings we deliver as gift officers.

PROS

ThankView reaches people virtually, yet remains very personal. It allows us to deliver a delightful experience to folks in a really meaningful way, and it's incredibly easy to use. We've used it across departments for stewardship, solicitations, event reminders, event followup, welcome to donor recognition groups, homecoming video requests, birthday greetings, and much more.

CONS

It's a bit pricey for a small shop, so it's imperative to think through how it will benefit you before diving in.

ThankView.....AMAZING

PROS

I love the ease of use and the customer service. We are new to ThankView but in under 6 months, we have sent out at least 75,000 ThankView emails. We have sent anything from automated birthday messages to holiday greetings, email solicitations, and general outreach. It's the first place we turn to when connecting with parents and alumni.

CONS

I wish you could have one major list that does not change core info upon loading a new list that may contain the same contacts.

UNC Charlotte Donor Relations

We have been able to better communicate with our donors to show their impact from donations to the University. We use ThankView for our call center, our stewardship efforts, our giving day and now we've recently integrated with ScaleFunder to make use of ThankView for our crowdfunding efforts as well. It's a personal touch for our donors, which goes a long way.

PROS

Our team and division colleagues appreciate the ease of the product. For example, our Student Philanthropy Representatives use it every night to send videos to donors through our calling program. Also, our stewardship team uses the 'video request' option to solicit personal thank you videos from scholarship recipients so we can share them with their scholarship donors. It is an amazing tool!

CONS

I can't really think of anything to add here, but even when we do make suggestions or express concerns to the ThankView team, they are always open and receptive to our thoughts. We feel heard!

ThankView helps our NPO provide engaging education to our families and school nurses around the U.S.

Very nice program. The customer service, although used rarely, was very good.

PROS

Storing our educational content, and the ease to launch a video campaign are key. We also rely on the statistics to see if we are making an impact.

CONS

I'd like the ability to share a document (PDF) not be an upcharge.

User-friendly, Fun, and Interactive Product

PROS

ThankView is a user-friendly platform I employed to record student messages for our annual solicitations and send donor thank-you videos. It's s fun and personal way to thank donors and engage them with their scholarship recipients. ThankView has a selection of tutorials for each user group and their academy courses. Learning to create and personalize landing pages and record, upload, and edit videos is easy. And, if someone is stuck, there is a handy chat box to reach for help! I've been using ThankView for three years and loving it! Thank the ThankView team for their fun, interactive platform, and excellent customer service.

CONS

It takes a while to send test videos during work hours. It could be due to many logging in at the same time.

A faster and more fun way to do stewardship!

I previously used ThankView at Pepperdine University and recommended that Pacific Ridge School purchase ThankView once I became employed there.

PROS

ThankView allows me to make stewardship more personal and meaningful, and to connect donors with the impact of their support- students! Although we still stack our stewardship options so that most donors receive a personal touch as well as a letter in the mail, many parent donors do not pick up the phone or panic when they see the school phone number calling, assuming that there is an emergency with their child/student. Thankviews retain the personal touch while removing the risk of a rushed phone call or one that comes at an inopportune time for the donor.

CONS

There is nothing I dislike about it. I wish I could use it even more than I already do, or that I had a team of volunteers that could use it on my behalf.

The easiest platform to use!

A mobile-friendly, quick, platform I can use to push out dynamic, customizable messages to a variety of audiences. It's also so easy to retarget those who haven't opened the email. I love it!

PROS

How simple the platform is at large. So many systems and products are outdated or still work like dinosaurs. ThankView beats them all. Their retargeting and metrics are very helpful and easy to use.

CONS

I'd like more custom fields. I really don't have very many grievances. I wish I didn't have to email someone to delete my contacts when I'm done using them, but I understand why it's like that.

ThankView is a unique & effective stewardship tool.

PROS

User-friendly tools to make basic edits to video. Tools for requesting videos from recorders is amazing -- includes panel for them to see script you've written while they record. Built it into standardized stewardship practices for groups like first-time donors and event-acquired donors, and it's been very successful to put a face to the name and deepen new relationships prior to an in-person visit.

CONS

The gif feature needs to be improved so that you can pick from more than just the first few seconds of the video. The auto-captioning feature is very glitchy.

ThankView for easier segmented stewardship

I am a one-person donor relations team, so I do not know how I could manage without this tool! In the past, the only video used for stewardship was professionally produced for about $40,000, and sent via email once a year. ThankViews are more personalized, targeted, cheaper, and have better open rates.

PROS

I appreciate how the campaigns make it easy to segment our donors--e.g., one campaign for first-time donors, one campaign for loyalty giving society members, one campaign for new leadership giving society members. That way, the email and microcopy already built, and I can attach a pre-recorded video that is relevant to everyone in that group. At the same time, the ability to use merge fields helps personalize each message. It's a good balance of efficiency and customization.

CONS

I wish our use of ThankView were more automated. At the moment, I pull a list of new donors that fit in each segment (donors who recently made their first gift, donors who recently became giving society members, etc.), upload that list, attach videos, and schedule the videos. If we could integrate more easily into our database, and the ThankView platform could identify donors based on giving data without me uploading a list, that would save time. I know that ThankView does offer database integration, but we have just an outdated system (Ellucian-Banner) and so few database experts on our team, we haven't explored this option. I apologize if this "criticism" is user-error! In addition, I need to filter each list of donors before I upload it in case those donors are missing email addresses, have unsubscribed from ThankView, or have other exclusion codes. It would be great if ThankView could do that filtering/scrubbing and then send me a list of donors who cannot receive a video (so that I can send them a handwritten card instead).

ThankView is a valuable tool to support all stages of our fundraising!

ThankView was a blessing to us during the pandemic lockdown - it allowed us to make personal connections with our current families, alums, and even our colleagues, via video when we could not hold meetings in person. We were able to check in with donors, continue to cultivate relationships, and even solicit gifts during that time. We found this to be very important to our older constituents who were often isolated.

PROS

Not only is ThankView user-friendly and quite intuitive, but it is also fun to use! Our messages on this platform are well received by our constituents as evidenced by our significant open- and click-through rates. ThankView has supported the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of our donors in a unique way that stands apart from an email or printed letter.

CONS

We truly love ThankView and are working to use it to its fullest. We have not identified anything that we wanted to do that we could not implement.

Reason for choosing ThankView

We did not consider other products because we were so impressed with how ThankView was introduced to us and we saw the value immediately. I was participating in a local fundraising conference when I received a ThankView message from [SENSITIVE CONTENT] welcoming me to the event and inviting me to stop by the ThankView booth to see the product. I knew right away that the platform was special when I saw the immediate impact a video greeting could have, literally, on the spot. That was in July 2019. I set up a demo from there and we have been subscribers ever since. ThankView is a game-changer and we are making every effort to use it in as many ways as we can to support every aspect of our fundraising at Westtown School.

Feedback and Rating about ThankView - Video Email Platform

I absolutely love ThankView! I can't say enough about how amazing our emails/videos have turned out and how easy the platform is to use. Our constituents have told us how much they enjoyed getting these emails.

PROS

What I like most about this software is that: 1) It is very easy to use. 2) The video emails are clean, professional, and fun (depending on your video and photos) 3) It allows me to send out a large batch of emails quickly and efficiently. 4) It allows me to record/request videos for the platform or other purposes very easily. 5) How their support team are responsive and knowledgeable with any questions or problems I may have.

CONS

What I like least about this software are: 1) How I am able to (or not) organize the video library and campaigns. 2) How I can restrict other administrators from altering my videos/campaigns. I wish as a "creator" I can give access as requested. (Again, this comes from me being particular and OCD ;P)

That I can't answer as I'm not paid enough to be part of the decision-making process, BUT I am glad that the team who was looking for a video email messaging platform chose ThankView!

An invalueable tool for stewardship and engagement

PROS

Video to masses of people all at once. The ability to customize messages with merge fields. Ability to put a face to the name of scholarship recipients to their donors really connects alums to campus and helps donors feel great about the impact they are having on their individual students. Our best campaign is our ongoing happy birthday message that is sent out daily on alums actualy birthdays. This is better than sending messages in the month of their birthdays, the actual day. we have great open rates on this extremely personalized message.

CONS

We have yet to connect Raiser's Edge and Thankview in an easy to upload manner. We have to modify our excel spreadsheets to fit the system for ease of use. I am hopeful once we try using RE NXT that it will become even easier. I would like the ability to text people because emails often go unread or unwatched. I think texting videos to peoples phone AND emailing them would significantly increase open rates. Would like to have more merge field options as permanent.

Great, easy to use product and top-notch customer service!

We use this software for everything from birthday greetings to event invitations to fundraising appeals. It's very easy to use (and to train colleagues to use!) and a great way to 'get in front of our people,' especially during this socially distant time of COVID.

PROS

I love that ThankView is easy to use and allows us to personalize messages to our community of alumni, parents, and students.

CONS

I don't love the new pricing structure, which is based on number of contacts loaded into the account. Typically I have to manually remove any contacts who have previously unsubscribed and/or bounced before sending another all-constituent communication. I wish this could happen automatically. For what it's worth, I liked the previous pricing structure more, which was based on services used rather than the number of contacts.

My favorite co-worker!

I've worked with ThankView for many years, even before my University at large had a contract with them. It's been wonderful to see them grow. What I appreciate is they always seek the feedback and input of their users, and make it a priority to incorporate our desired new features or changes into their product. The product itself is incredibly intuitive and easy to use.

PROS

I love that it is so versatile, intuitive and easy to use. I can customize my campaigns so easily so that I can execute a variety of visions and purposes. It's so streamlined and simple -- and really, really effective!

CONS

There are so many ways to use this software, and I enjoy it so much, that it's easy to rely solely on ThankView. I have to be conscious to not over-use it with my donors.

ThankView is a MUST for Stewardship!

Overall, this is a tool that our organization uses daily to steward and thank our donors. We personally do not use it for solicitation, but I can see how some would like it for that function, as well.

PROS

I like the ease of creating and adding videos to use for different campaigns. I like the ability to copy campaigns to save time. We have gotten a lot of great feedback from our donors on how much they like the products

CONS

I do not like the recent change to the "combining videos" function. I don't like that you have to take an additional step or that you have to name the combined video now.

A must-have for all stewardship work

PROS

The simplicity of ThankView is unparalleled. It makes sending personalized messages pain-free and have them look very professional and polished.

CONS

There are so many new features coming out and if I am behind in keeping up, I miss some great new features.

So far, we've had a great experience with ThankView. We're enjoying engaging with our constituents in a different way. ThankView helps to give a more personalized and appreciative approach in a world that's turning more and more virtual.

PROS

This software is extremely user-friendly from recording videos to producing them within the site. We've experienced great returns and engagement from constituents in using this tool in varying communications thus far.

CONS

The most difficult part of this software is not being able to reset email addresses that bounced once from the platform (even if we know that they are accurate and working email addresses currently). They are automatically marked and unable to receive any future ThankViews unless you reset them by the ones with customer support.

ThankView Connects Students and Donors

ThankView is a great platform that has really created a new way in which we can reach donors. I have found that it has great potential for us to connect students with donors, as students feel comfortable recording videos of themselves.

PROS

The merge field feature makes large campaigns or requests feel much more personalized. Additionally, the ease with which recorders can submit a video is great.

CONS

I would love if there was a way to create files for campaigns. This would make managing multiple ongoing campaigns much easier.

A Great Communication Tool!

My overall experience with ThankView has been very positive and I appreciate the user community as well. They were very reasonable working through our first renewal and always quick to respond with any problems or questions. They appear to allocate time, resources and dollars to improving their functionality which is always a great sign. Looking forward to helping with some beta testing too!

PROS

I so appreciated that this was an easy tool to learn, immediately being able to get a critical message out and then being able to take some time to learn more and get better at it when I had more time. I was given no one to talk to and no training and one week to get a video out to thousands of prospective students and their parents when the pandemic hit and staff members were furloughed. That success says a lot!

CONS

There will always be changes desired with a cloud solution, but I have only found minor inconveniences and the support team is very open to adding features and improving functions. I struggled to delete large chunks of contacts and needed several rounds with customer support to get that done.

ThankView to the Rescue

PROS

We LOVE ThankView for the personalization aspect and it is a different way to engage with out donors and Alumni. We traditionally have a 15-20% open rate on e-mails from our institution, but out ThankViews to that same audience are getting a 60-80% open rate! HOLY MOLY! We love that we are now able to engage with our donors and truly meet them where they are at. They aren't wanting to read a long e-mail, they want to watch a quick "reel" and then do their call to action. It is simply awesome!

CONS

We really thought we would be able to integrate this with our database, and it hasn't worked out very well so we turned of integrations and do things manually. It takes more work on our end but it is still worth it for the donor engagement.

Deepening Engagement with Donors Thankview Is a critical partner

The business problems that we are solving especially since we are a very small team on the developmnent staff is the ability to scale, schedule, time, and peraonalize our outreach with donors so they feel connected to the mission and know that their input and engagement is critical and valuable.

PROS

What is most impactful is the real time feedback on the donors engagement with the email/test and video. Our [SENSITIVE CONTENT] finds this critical in his next steps to deepen the relationships with the donors. The personalization of each message to the specific donor with the personalized impact they have made is also critical. Having the donors story through the many campaigns we engage them in makes a difference. It helps us know what and how and when to engage with them next.

CONS

We are moving from NXT Raisers Edge to Sales Force. It is not clear how this integration will work. Looking forward to a seamless integration.

An amazing stewardship tool!

The customer service has been amazing and they are receptive to our feedback and ideas. I am so glad that we partnered with ThankView, and it has been something that has surprised and delighted our donors.

PROS

This software has been a game changer for us. When we originally launched we wanted to add a tool to support our various methods of stewarding our donors. Since COVID, ThankView has become a key component of our outreach and stewardship. It is simple to use, easy to understand and very versatile.

CONS

The video library has become a daunting space that I avoid like the plague.
