About Volaby

Volaby's volunteer and non-profit activity management system streamlines the processes of volunteer recruitment, task assignment, and data monitoring for community accountability. For potential volunteers to sign up, a logical process is provided, with pre-configured signup links and configurable forms with custom data fields. Manual checkpoints may be added in the application process, or they can be entirely automatic. The onboarding workflow includes progress tracking to identify problem points. Finally found the one!

I’m really impressed with the friendly, prompt, encouraging customer support and the vision for the team.

Very good product clearly made by volunteer managers

Very good. We checked out every tool that was listed on the comparison platforms. Volaby's onboarding process and ease of getting started was the reason we could get started. They are responsive to support questions and the platform is easy to use.

PROS

The sales process was easy and I could get a demo site and test set up straight away without needing to waste time doing sales demo's and the "hard sell" that other platforms do. The interface is modern and very clear. Many other platforms arent. You can tell that this platform was written by volunteer managers. The developer is also a massive volunteer org and they clearly have put into this what they do. So it makes sense. Custom fields, events, onboarding etc etc, all there and all works. The price is good and you can get started with no issues. There is no steep learning curve. It is what it is out of the box and anyone who uses a a service platform can use it.

CONS

There are some compromises you need to make but they are only small, possibly reflects how the developers do their own volunteer management. You cant add a volunteer, you need them to register themselves. The import tool needs a bit of work. User profiles are also not clear (the extended user profile is a "task" not an extended user profile. No zapier. Little things to get used to.

Reason for choosing Volaby

A lot of the software listed as volunteer management tools are not really full systems. They range from fundraising tools with some basic events through to sign up tools. Many of them did not support Australia. As we worked through the list, it was difficult to engage some companies without a sales demonstration and vendor lockin pitch rather than trialling the software, so that made us feel the vendor was more interested in selling you. Time wasting. Some of the interfaces were very dated and this will be problematic for the users. Others lacked key features. All in all, there were probably a couple of solutions in there that are very good but the sales process they have is a hinderance to using their software. Vollaby was the oppostite. Easy to buy, easy to use. Sure there are comprimises, but we were already working with the tool whilst competitive products had argued about why they need a sales demo.

SBSW Review of Volaby

Has so far been a great experience. We especially like that improving the functionality of Volaby has been an active process and one that we can have a lot of input in to make it more flexible to our needs.

PROS

The best features are the activities console (as an events admin, this is where i spend most of my time). I think the feature that is the most underutilised but critically important is the reporting function (this is something we need to push for use internally).

CONS

As a communication tool, it remains difficult to engage volunteers. The bulletin is good but a bit clunky, and the lack os push notifications makes it challenging to use this platform as the sole engager for our volunteers.

Reason for choosing Volaby

We chose Volaby because we had an existing relationship with Orange Sky and the alternative was to continue using a clunky Google Forms process.

Great product and great service

The staff and product have all exceeded expectactions

PROS

It was a very easy roll out with no major teething issues other than volunteers not being familiar with it. The customer support and technical support has been outstanding.

CONS

There are some wish list items but Volaby are already considering implementing them.
