NutriAdmin was by far the most affordable with comparable features and functions to the more pricey options. It's customizable and the features for $29.99 a month are all functional. No surprise upgrades for necessary options. #### Cons The time it takes to customize forms and input foods and recipes. No incentive was offered The software is brilliant, I can't fault it. It has helped me get my nutrition business set up, organised, and helps me with client interaction. I also really like how much information there is when you make meal plans, and how you can even customise what nutritional information is shown. This has really helped me for clients with very specific health problems and needs. I'm still discovering the range of customisation which, once set up, is making me more efficient day-to-day. The customer service of the company itself is excellent, you do feel like you have a partner to help you through it. There are lots of videos to make initial set up easier as well. I considered about ten nutritional software programs and based on features whittled it down to three to try over several weeks, and the details and customisation in NutriAdmin far exceeded anything the competition had to offer. The other programs seemed to want to force you to their way of working and set up, whereas with this one, although you can use the defaults, there are multiple options to set it up your way. It doesn't force you to use their software for your website either, but rather provides you integrative tools including a booking widget so your branding stays yours. Basically I think it's brilliant! I spent so many hours comparing them all side by side (NutriAdmin, Nutrium, Foodzilla) and I'm really happy with my choice. I'd definitely recommend it to any nutrition professional. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros Its flexibility - you can set it up exactly how you need it - and for its deep nutritional analysis when meal planning. #### Cons Sometimes the interface appears a little basic so when I first used it I wasn't sure how it would measure up against the competition, however I've come to see it's more like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Some of the other software I tried was more glossy in appearance but under the hood the performance was disappointing. #### Reasons for choosing NutriAdmin Customisation - you can set it up your way to levels I haven't even completely discovered yet! The defaults are all straightforward and get you started, but over time I've found it more and more powerful. More detailed nutritional analysis More independent - you can choose in what aspects of your business you want to use the software and keep some independent, it doesn't force you into an all or nothing situation. I absolutely love nutriadmin and can not imagine doing my work without it. Once or twice I did need to contact support for help, and was assisted very fast, effiencient and friendly. What I like most about this software is that you can create a personal portal for every client and that I am able to personalize diet plans with my own recipes or import it from any website. I also love being able to add my own foods and recipes, since South African food products is what my clients want in their diet plans. I also like that nutriadmin combines with my email for clients, keeping them up to date with appointments made with the confirmation emails (that can be personalized - bonus) as well as personalized emails to changes made to appointsment and confirmation email in instances of cancellation. The feature where you can send a link to clients of available time slots to choose from is also very helpful. #### Cons I feel a notification tab at the top of the home page would be helpful... when I log in it would be nice to see notifications of all bookings made by clients, instead of having to go back to my email to see the notification email and then go look within the client profile what appointment slot have been chosen. It would also be nice to have a chat with clients within the client portal, where you could quickly send a message to the client and receive a response. I didn't quite understand the trial period correctly (only one profile to test) and was surprised when I got invoiced before I even used the program much. #### Reasons for choosing NutriAdmin I didn't understand the trial period correctly and the debit order was taken before I could compare to other products so I decided to try it out anyways since I already paid for it and I was not disappointmented in the product and have never considered looking furher. #### Reasons for switching to NutriAdmin Nutriadmin is online ( I can access from any electronic device anywhere) and it is user friendly interface, compared to my previous program that was just on my one computer and text based interface, #### Vendor response Thanks so much for your kind words, Anke, and for such an extensive review! I have checked many nutritional software sites - the others were missing major components that I needed! The templates, the nutritional database, meal planner, recipe database - my favourite! In depth questionnaires which you can customise to suit your needs. The client portal is such a good idea and a safe way to send and receive documents. I love the report where you can personalise it with your own logo as it looks very professional. It does take a little time to get used to- but [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] will help you! I would say make the most of the trial period and if you can just sign Up to basic until you are used to the software- unless you are super tech savvy- go for the package to suit you. It is the most advanced software in my opinion with everything you need. I do need to use video calling with clients as I will be mainly an online coach and NutriAdmin does not have this feature but fear not- you can simply use some well known video calling apps and do your consultation! It is still far better than other software websites out there. The deciding factor to use NutriAdmin was the recipe database! This feature will help me with time! Time = money. I want easy, quick and a professional service. #### Cons The software design - maybe if it was a little more pleasing to the eye- I love colour and for me it’s important for it to feel wow! Maybe if we could personalise our own colours? I would love it. I have found adding widget to my website slightly difficult - although [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been super helpful! I wish it was just a lot easier to integrate the software with my website. I think an app would be excellent for use for clients. #### Reasons for choosing NutriAdmin Whilst nutrium looks much better aesthetically- they also have Telehealth feature included, they have a dedicated helpful staff available. They even have client app! Their meal planner was not easy to use, they don’t have a payment method for clients to pay. They do not have a recipe database! The team are genuinely patient, understanding and really want to help. Importantly-they are surprisingly prompt in their replies. I dont want to oversell this product, or give a false impression-but for me, i have found replies, in many cases-within minutes! And certainly within an hour on most occasions. I tried 2 other programs prior to Nutri Admin, and found i was waiting days for a reply to my questions due to time zones. Nutri Admin are not in my time zone, but i am not having an issue with fantastic customer support. Overall, it has been easy to learn and use. Some features are more relevant to me than others. I like that I can send my clients' forms in advance and check to see if they have completed them or not. Initially, I tried to use it for client notes but wasn't fond of the format, but it has since improved and I will be utilizing more of the updated features. #### Cons I currently have a 3-day food recall questionnaire/form that I use with my clients. However, in order to analyze the information, I have to go to the Meal Plan feature and reenter the information. It would be better/more helpful if there was a food recall that could be sent to clients and have the software automatically analyze the recall, with the option of letting the client view or not view the generated report. This would be similar to the way the Meal Plan feature is currently set up. As it stands now, it's double work. The format of the reports generated could also be improved. I've tried a few different ones, like Foodzilla, and this is head and shoulders above the rest. I used the client portal with a variety of people up to the age of 80 and they all found it user friendly. It is intuitive and simple to use and maintain. The food bank is extremely extensive and contains many brands which makes populating the plans very quick. Customer service is excellent and fast which is great as so often with software and applications response takes a long time, if ever! Very happy I made the switch to using this software for my business. #### Cons Being able to modify and brand the theme to a greater extent would be very appreciated. Customising the layout/font/what content you want to add (especially the headers such as 'Practitioner' etc.) for export would be great and much more professional. Want to be able to make a note of what a manuel payment is for.Which I can leave links for patients to access info I send. If the docent is too big, it suggests I use drop box. I like the layout of all of my patient files. I like how easy it is to send my forms to new patients. #### Cons I don't like that there isn't an easy "follow-up" button for continued visits foe the same client. I don't only see a client once. I see many weekly and it would be easier just to go to their "file" and have a follow-up link to click where I can date it and write the note. I love that it syncs with my Google calendar and gives me reminders. I use it mostly for the intake forms. Creating the forms on this software was easier than others that I have used. I also liked that fact that clients do not need to download an app to meet with me or use the forms. #### Cons Even though it was easier, building the forms took a lot of time. I would have loved a feature to translate into Spanish as I had to do that my hand and it was time consuming. #### Vendor response Thanks so much for your kind words! Nutriadmin is strong on both and highly customizable. #### Cons I would have liked the ability to edit food items as they are entered into the menu. For example, if you add Feta, crumbled, reduced fat, it has the brand and added information on the same line. This confuses clients and I usually just remove that additional info. This is not possible unless you recreate the food and change the name. #### Reasons for choosing NutriAdmin Cost, features, ease of use. #### Reasons for switching to NutriAdmin Nutrium lacked customizability on basic things and despite requesting it for 2 years, nothing has changed. #### Vendor response Thanks so much for your kind words! Customization is at the root of NutriAdmin, we have designed the software so that every user can adapt it to their needs since we are aware people work in different ways within nutrition. Regarding the "editing food as it's added", although we don't have that exact feature yet, one thing you can do that can help is to create meal presets and recipes for foods you use often. If you create a meal preset, you can customize the name and group common ingredients together. Then, once you add the item to a plan, it will use your customized naming instead of the default name from the database. It has good features such as calendar bookings, payment requests and many more that I haven't even explored. The online questionnaire can be created in any way possible making it easier for clients to fill in forms prior to consultation. #### Cons It would be benefit from being more intuitive and easier to navigate. I am still trying to figure out how to make my logo shown the outgoing messages a bit smaller, and how to edit default emails - it would be great if default emails sent to clients at booking was editable while booking the appointment making them more individualised. I would also like to see a feature which enable me to me make notes on completed questionnaires while I am doing my prep. It would also be great to have a feature which make it easy to copy and paste some sections for writing plans, maybe it's there but I haven't found it. #### Vendor response Hi Magda, thanks for your review. I think we have all - or almost all - of the features/functionality you have mentioned in the "cons" section. I will write you separately via email with tips/advice on how to use the features listed. We have a lot of customization options and productivity techniques (e.g. copying/reusing content, automating tasks, etc) but it's true that since there are so many ways of doing things it can be easy to overlook some of these options when you are still learning the software.
