About OneDrive

OneDrive is a cloud-based content management solution that provides organizations with a platform to collaborate, share and store documents. This system enables cross-platform synchronization and prevents data loss.

OneDrive allows users to collaborate and share documents in real-time with team members and clients, and managers can access, review and edit. It assists users in file management by restricting file access within teams and organizations. In addition, the system shares real-time notifications whenever a file is viewed or edited.

OneDrive auto-tags photos by detecting visuals saved in the cloud that makes them easier to search and organize. In addition, the solution enables users to share and access files 24/7 from any mobile device.

The best cloud for saving files for windows users

I am using office applications very frequently and I need to keep the files in some place that I can access them whenever I want, this tool is very useful for me. Another cool thing is that I can share the files with my friends and many people can work on one file at the same time.

Pros

This product is developed by Microsoft and it comes in Microsoft Office bundle, first times I thought it is not that much useful application. However, afterwards I have started to use office applications I saw that how useful this application is. Firstly it is integrated with Microsoft Office applications, and you can keep all your files on the drive, it also can be integrated with your email and you can share files through drive if they are not not shareable through email. Another good side of this application is that it is available on all platforms and you can use it for sharing the files between devices.

Cons

I have some concerns regarding use the application on my PC, the problem is that it always running on the background and since my laptop is a bit slower it downs the performance. When I turn of it my windows protection gives error. Rather than this, I do not have any problems with this application.

Why did I use Dropbox for all that time?

The minor aggravation with my initial setup is nothing compared to the ease of using it with other Office products, especially across mobile devices.

Pros

OneDrive easily integrates with all of our other Office software. Since transitioning to Microsoft Teams for interagency communication and using Outlook for our mail, the availability of OneDrive to seamlessly store large volumes of data securely while at the same time being able to selectively share it with individual employees is amazing. It fits into what we do as a component of our system, unlike other cloud based programs that seem to be standalone rather than integrated.

Cons

Once I figured out how useful it was going to be, I did a mass upload of files. It was a somewhat aggravating process. I wish that I could have selected all the files to upload, then have OneDrive batch and upload in segments rather than doing a single upload that inevitably would stall.

Reasons for Choosing OneDrive

We tried OneDrive first and saw no compelling reason to continue searching since it met and/or exceeded all of our needs.

Nice tool for Cloud backup but has some issues

I use it as part of my 365 subscription. When you look at this tool overall it usable as a part of Microsoft 365 ecosystem. But if you dig deeper into features and options issues start to occur. It draws power from 365 users base not by it's own features and options.

Pros

Well the software is functional to a degree. I found it easy to set up for basic usage, syncing some folders on pc on regular plain usage. Logging from office.com portal and accessing documents and files is also a great value. Sharing file with company and outside of company users is cool with cool predefined options which are helpfull.

Cons

There is no advanced options for upload control. Few users can easily saturate internet connection. Also when you migrate user folder on windows pc to another drive numerous issues raised. Also i had few issues where files would not simply upload to OneDrive even when connections is 300/100Mb. There is no linux client which is forcing users to other services like Dropbox and GoogleDrive. Android versions work better then Windows 10.

Reasons for Choosing OneDrive

I did not. It was a part of Office 365 package, so we implement it as "already payed" solution.

Powerful Storage Allows for Collaboration and Organization

OneDrive is just powerful and convenient. There is no hassle when trying to save large files, sync multiple devices, locate files through search, or when sharing and collaborating with colleagues who need access. It's a lifesaver, and I highly recommend it.

Pros

The best thing about OneDrive is how it integrates with all of the other Microsoft products that we use on a daily basis. I don't have to take extra steps when saving, sorting, or sharing files. I can easily save a file on OneDrive, invite others to read or edit the file, copy or relocate it to another area, view, sync, and access everything I need no matter where I am traveling or teaching. We previously used a more clunky storage platform, and OneDrive is far more intuitive. Once you've learned the basic steps, everything else falls into place.

Cons

The only real con to OneDrive is that it honestly has so many features that I'm sure I'm not using them all. I should probably take a class and extend my understanding of what it is capable of so I could better integrate it with my work in other Microsoft programs. However, it meets and exceeds all of my current needs, so it's a very mild criticism.

Looking for competent cloud service? Choose One Drive

Although some internal functionality needs minor adjustments, One Drive is undoubtedly one of the best cloud storage services out there. Its ease in configuring it, storing the files and then making it available to my team is something that caught my attention, as I clearly perceive that the purpose of the service is to make the client's life easier and use the best tools without the need for skills advanced techniques.

Pros

What I liked most about One Drive was the ease of using it on different platforms, which saved me time and financial resources. It is very simple and straightforward to configure, which greatly facilitates the process of migrating new files and folders from another service. In addition, I can connect it with cloud migration platforms, which allows me to transfer large amounts of files without worrying about the effective security of the data.

Cons

It's not that I didn't like it, but I thought that 15GB wouldn't be enough to store all the company's files and also personal files, even though the paid version is cheap, I would still prefer to try the free version while I know the product better. In addition, some types of video files are not possible to view within the platform, among them FLV and AVI, I would like to expand the number of files that can be used within the platform, this would save me time and money.

Reasons for Choosing OneDrive

I chose One Drive because it is easy to implement, organize with my team and work together. The One Drive service is very clear and with many useful tools for us, which saves time and money and that was decisive in choosing the service, even though it still needs some internal adjustments yet it stands out as one of the best services in market cloud.
