OneDrive Software

OneDrive is a cloud-based content management solution that provides organizations with a platform to collaborate, share and store documents. This system enables cross-platform synchronization and prevents data loss.

OneDrive allows users to collaborate and share documents in real-time with team members and clients, and managers can access, review and edit. It assists users in file management by restricting file access within teams and organizations. In addition, the system shares real-time notifications whenever a file is viewed or edited.

OneDrive auto-tags photos by detecting visuals saved in the cloud that makes them easier to search and organize. In addition, the solution enables users to share and access files 24/7 from any mobile device.

OneDrive provides free storage up to 5GB and is available on Windows, Android and iOS devices.

Pros

I love being able to access my files from any internet enabled device, including my mobile. This allows me to stay on top of the work load, as well as sending information readily to customers and vendors who need it.

Cons

There have been instances where I expected an auto-save feature that did not complete itself, and lost minor amounts of work.

Overall, it has improved our monthly process and how we communicate with our Senior Project Managers.

Pros

We moved to the OneDrive to share our Job Cost information and gather feedback from our Engineers on the projects. The tool has been great because we can control which people see what data, people can edit information, and when we decide to lock down the excel/powerpoint files to ensure no further changes occur in the month.

Cons

Some of the functionality with Excel on-line doesn't work the same as the desktop version. Pivot table format was hard to lock down to make it visible for our engineers.

A lot of space for all the documents you need to protect in the cloud. Many storage options to choose from. Inexpensive

Pros

Sharing capabilities are great in this app. It does not change your excel spreadsheets into their own apps. It keeps the original layout.

Cons

Logging in to one drive on an unknown computer will sometimes automatically link your one drive to that computer and start syncing with it. You have to be very careful and read everything when you are logging in.

It was a great help for me, I needed to transfer more than 1,000 files from my personal to my work computer, and it was very easy to do. In my spare time in a matter of two days, I had everything in my new computer.

Pros

It's really easy to use, just drag and drop. I've had it for more than 3 years, and I love it. I have access to all my files doesn't matter if I'm in my laptop or desktop. I've never experienced technical problems of any kind. It has always worked flawlessly.

Cons

I really like it... its understandable that the free version is limited, I would like to have a choice of capacity.

I enjoyed using OneDrive because it was user friendly and I have interacted with my team members. I had them to send me files and we can all see the files and update when necessary before the final draft goes out. OneDrive is recommended for any group to use and get the work completed in a timely manner.

Pros

OneDrive was an effective program to use. This program is user friendly and shared program that I used with my team members. I can see all the files at one time and each member can update and know what is going on. I find the program easy to use and organized.

Cons

When the program gets stuck and will have to get out of it. You always will have to call customer service or chat but most of the time it is a busy time to get through to someone when you are in a hurry and time is valuable.

Cloud software good for non-tech savvy

Ease-of-use

Value for Money

Even though OneDrive is great, there are improvements to be made to make it suitable for small business owners and their companies.

Pros

I consider myself a non-tech savvy person, meaning I don't know much about the latest updates in technology. But ever since my company switched to Microsoft cloud service OneDrive, I feel like a tech savant! The interface is easy to use, for a small company with less than 500 employees, we can communicate with OneDrive's other integrated apps such as Sharepoint and Teams that allow me to work with my other coworkers and update my files in real time.

Cons

Sometimes the link that you share with someone get expired quickly, meaning you have to resend them every time someone needs to access them . Other than that we had some connectivity issues in the past, for which I reached out to customer care but they were not too responsive.

OneDrive allows you to access your files from any Microsoft Word application as long as you can sign in. This is what led me to use OneDrive for file sharing in our business.

Pros

There are many cloud solutions, but onedrive is accessible everywhere even when cell reception isn't great. Furthermore, it is incredible easy to use. Whether you are an older user or a millennial, Microsoft is coming out with some killer products and onedrive happens to be a great cloud solution that goes with their products and subscriptions.

Cons

I have nothing bad to say about OneDrive. It hasn't failed me in any way yet and I don't plan on using another cloud service any time soon. If you haven't tried it out yet, you definitely need to explore this as a solution.

Overall I loved the program for several reasons. Huge storage space, easily accessible files, usable across multiple devices, and it makes collaboration easy. This has several benefits, such as reducing the need to email files all the time, and having several versions of the same files, etc. Best of all, it was free with the purchase of PC. But generally speaking, the paid version is relatively cheap compared to its competitors.

Pros

This is a cool program for people who prefer, or are more accustomed to using, Microsoft programs. I can access files anywhere and the storage space is huge, bigger than most of its competition, including Google Drive. Another advantage to using OneDrive is that it integrates seamlessly with all Microsoft products like the OfficeSuite, Outlook, etc. Plus it's easy to setup and has real basic functionality, which makes it a readymade program in seconds for people who prefer Microsoft programs.

Cons

I find that many members of my team were reluctant to use OneDrive simply out of preference for other cloud-based storage programs like Google Drive, DropBox, etc. The other issue is that OneDrive tends to slow down my PC to a halt when I sync files and folders.

We were able to do syncing of our files and folders with the cloud pretty easily and the right clicking on objects to send there too was helpful. We used it to store documents we wanted to share with each other as a team and to keep them safe in case of a hardware failure.

Pros

It's integrated well into Windows 10 so it's easy to use on your system and seems to always be there.

Cons

It's integrated on your system. I wrote that as a pro but it's a con as well since it feels like a forced option onto us, despite it being a generally good product.

With one drive I am able to share i evtnory reports and invoices with my coworkers easily and quickly. This saves me from being asked multiple times for the same information because it allows anyone I share it with to access what they are looking for without even having to ask for it.

Pros

The ease of use. It was simple yo great folders, add files to them and share them with my coworkers. It really makes sharing information so easy because you can share the folder with a group of people and then just continue adding files within the folder to share with those indibiduals again and again without having to restate it over and over. It's really makes it so much quicker and more efficient to share data company wide.

Support
Pros

Their security is nice so that only authorized users can access. We've been using this since some time as a team so only we can access the files which are private within our team. Unlike other products, this is easy to scale and manage tool, and this limits the time that a user spends before getting a stored file.

Cons

There's an issue we've faced with syncing the files. Team members suddenly lose access to the specific files which they've been accessing for some time. And upload speed is a bit slow despite the connection speed.
