Ascend is a physician relationship management application that helps healthcare organizations grow and discover new referral volume opportunities. The application combines physician profiles with business intelligence data and offers insights that optimize companies’ relationships with referral sources.

Ascend enables physician relations managers and liaisons to identify issues and develop initiatives for issue resolution as well as improve relationships with referring physicians. The tracking system keeps related tasks organized and provides a platform for accountability and interdepartmental collaboration. Physician liaisons can use mobile applications everywhere, entering visit notes and physician data in real-time on mobiles/ tablets.

Pros

This product is designed perfectly for physician relations. I was a little skeptical when my client said they were moving forward with the Marketware CRM because they aren't a typical CRM, but it has everything that we have needed in developing reps and a strong program. With other clients, we have used other CRMs, but to get those CRMs to fill the needs of a hospital, we have had to do a lot of customizing and working with other vendors to get the program to do what we need it to do. Marketware has had almost all of what we need and has worked out well for us so far.

Cons

There is a little learning curve to effectively use the program, and some of the reports are a little slow but once you know what you are doing, it works well.

Pros

Excellent product that meets my needs as a physician. There isn't a complicated interface so it is user friendly for me and the rest of the staff.

Cons

It tends to crash frequently, and it may take time to work again. Sometimes it is frozen and the information gets lost.

It is an expensive program and very costly. No issues with the vendor itself.
